  1. I like Stanton too. He's the type of QB that it takes to win bigtime. Nothing against TMagic, but Taylor is more of a running qb that can throw. Same with Armstrong. Stanton comes off as more a Passing Qb that can run, which to me is more important, ala, Kapernick and Wilson. Those guys are successful because they use their arm and mind first, and their legs as the utility. I don't agree with you here quite a bit. Armstrong is much more of a polished thrower and Stanton is by far more of a prolific runner. I don't think either Armstrong or Stanton compare to Taylor very much, but Stanton is much more the mold of Taylor when comparing their skills. Tommy is actually exactly the mold of a Russell Wilson in regards to ability to passing from the pocket, but can gain 8 yards on a 3rd & 6. Not saying Stanton can't, but he is a lot more of a runner than Tommy Be damned. i guess I'm just seeing it the other way around. Like I said, Tommy and Stanton are closer to each other than they are to Taylor, but when you look at the HS film of Armstrong and Stanton, a few things are obvious when comparing the two: 1. Tommy is an elite passer down the field in comparison to Stanton. Not even down the field, just throwing in general. In addition, Armstrong's passing stats were ridiculously superior to Stanton's. The great majority of Stanton's passing offense was predicated on bubble screens where he threw the ball to a receiver behind the LOS and Tommy's was more down the field. Even with that philosophy difference, Armstrong threw 4 INT's combined his Jr. and Sr. where Stanton threw 8 his Jr. year alone. 2. Stanton is possibly faster and much more powerful of a runner than Tommy. If they both were 3 year starters, I would venture to guess Stanton would have 4 times the number of 15+ yard runs as Armstrong in their careers. Obviously this is just conjecture, but Tommy is much more of a pocket passer who has the ability to scramble when things break down. With Armstrong, I don't think the offense would call for more than 4-5 designed run plays for him per game; whereas with Stanton I think the number of designed rushes would be in the ball park of 8-10.
  2. Can GA's being involved in recruiting at all? Wasn't last year kind of an anomaly because of Barney's shoulder surgery, thus allowing Marrow to be on the road for him with an NCAA exemption due to Barney's injury?

  4. I agree with you in many cases that a lot of people make up garbage when we don't get a guy we want. But coming from the people this info is coming from on this board (da'skers, HF, etc), I would take the info as pretty credible and not jealousy. And if you have followed his recruitment the last 2 or 3 weeks, you would know he literally all-but announced he was N. He was absolutely blown away by the visit and one of his HS teammates told the media he was committed to Nebraska following his visit. Something obviously changed once he got back with his family for a few days. And no, I don't think Arkansas dropped off a money bag at his house, but his family had their say in it. Plus his HS coach has ties to Arkansas, so he is hearing it from all angles
  5. Yeah, it's not worth arguing over. He does post a lot of stuff. But he will often re-post exact same words from guys on that board and claims it as his own despite the information literally being four posts above. It's like nothing can be taken as fact UNTIL RR approves of its accuracy. And he checks the accuracy by coming over to Huskerboard and seeing what EZ-E has to say about a given recruit.
  6. FLU is that you? I am the opposite of him. Wasn't he always negative? I was just saying that while Red Reign can sometimes be exasperating, I find him much more bearable than Cavanaugh. That's all. I prefer it when people err on the side of positivity, unless it is unjustified. Oh I thought you were referring to FLU being better than Cavanaugh. My bad. Plus I saw it was your first post and put 2 and 2 together. But i'm not so good at math. I agree about Red Reign. Don't mind him so much. Very supportive and works hard to get information out to people. Sure he takes from a lot of other sites, but I think most people do. And Haspula I definitely don't have an account at HM. I just have no life and when I run out of info here I have to do whatever it takes to get my fix HuskerBoard is the beez neez. In regards to RR, it's one thing to be positive, it's another thing to say EVERY recruit is going to be N. And if someone gives an honest assessment that is in opposition to his view, he and his cult like following will destroy you over there. I think EZ-E, aspeed, PC are supportive of the program, but they provide real information of where a recruit is thinking, not just thinking EVERYONE we offer is N. Or take the McWilson and Walker drama last week. Someone would start a thread saying they are looking elsewhere and he would call them out and say "don't look too much into this, it is just troll season, they aren't going anywhere." He said that over and over up until they both committed to other schools. Does he apologize to the person who he berated for providing info to the board? Or if a recruit not committed to us is reported leaning towards another school and not Nebraska and someone posts a rivals quote, he will say "Wildcat Illustrated is just trying to sell subscriptions." And the next day that recruit will commit to the Wildcats. The guy is wrong about 85% of everything he posts and the 15% he is right about is stolen from here. And RR doesn't work hard to provide info, he comes to Huskerboard, he clicks on the recruits name, see what the main recruiting guys on this board have to say about someone and he will start a thread saying "Rumblings are Ernest Suttles might be flipping from ISU to NU." And pretends like he has an insider source, when up until 45 seconds before he read it on here, he had never heard of Suttles. And people over there literally start threads every 2 weeks thanking RR for his godlike info and think he is legitimately friends with Bo because he gets all this "insider" info.
  7. It's funny because he is going to read this and he can't respond. But seriously, the guy is a bigger dingle berry than Bradon Cav.
  8. So Arkansas did theirs last night. Any word on how it went other than the standard, "it went great, I feel really comfortable with the staff" type of deal?
  9. How do we get that long snapper who displays his skills a few times during the first minute of the video?
  10. Is it just me, or do a lot of these recent guys have a bunch of schools like Alabama Weslyn, Stony Brook, Roast Beef State, and then Iowa with offers?
  11. I'm not saying Ameer doesn't need to focus on ball security, but keep in mind FOUR of his fumbles were muffed punts. Obviously we can't have those on our team either, but I view that differently than him taking a draw up the middle and a LB stripping him.

  13. ^This. Leroy Alexander is a guy people are forgetting about! Absolutely. I actually totally forgot about him. If Charles Jackson does start at safety, I would suspect Leroy to to move in to CJax role last year of lighting people up on kickoffs. Then in the following years emerge as a possible SS starter.
  14. Yes, Charles is definitely moving to safety, it's not a rumor really. I have heard three coaches talk about it openly, he practiced there throughout bowl practices. Plus P.J. Smith acknowledged that he is moving to safety, as well. But you're right, too. My thinking is just that you need 4 capable WR's and only two safeties. We are extremely inexperienced there, but just as a reference point, take Dixon's RS-soph year. Hypothetically, there will Charles Jackson as a 3 year starter being a senior, Gerry a RS-soph, Singleton possibly a returning starter as a junior. Our problems at safety our NOW, but I think will be secure by the time Dixon will realistically get playing time, whereas at WR we are in great shape now, but will be in trouble in the future. In the end, we are both probably right, just differing opinions. I think the coaches will move him to where ever they see him being needed which is good enough for me
  15. The reason why we have good depth at WR, is because we have a solid starting group and young guys. Definition of depth. If you move all the young guys to DB, there is no long depth and in 3 years, we will have no one to play the position. Plus, you need 2 safeties on the field for a game and need 3-4 WR. We have a solid group of starting receivers plus a solid group waiting behind them. Dixon would be a third stringer, if he was lucky, at WR. Whereas at safety he would be able to compete for playing time immeadiately. Our wide receivers are stacked on a great offense, we are hurting at safety on a weak, unproven defense. He is needed more at safety, he may start at WR but I wouldn't be surprised if he jumps to safety because of the lack of depth there. After a redshirt year, you don't think he could compete for a back-up role in the slot? So let's look at his RS-soph year, there will be no Bell, Turner, Quincy, Wullenwaber. That leaves Alonzo Moore, Westerkamp, Allen, and a bunch of guys from small town Nebraska who realistically can only be expected to contribute on special teams. That means you're relying on Moore (0 snaps in career), Westerkamp (0 snaps), Allen (2 career catches) to 100% hold down the WR position. Surely they will have a little more experience after 2 more years, but it wouldn't hurt to have Dixon in the mix to provide a little more certainty for the position going forward. What's even scarier is if you peek forward two more years to Dixon's senior year. Nebraska has exactly zero players with a single snap in college football that will be playing Dixon's senior year. That's right! In 2017 we will have absolutely no experience at the WR position. None. Zero. Yup. Absolutely. I don't know why you're trying to be an ass about it. I'm not talking crap about the team or saying our WR's suck, I'm just saying when you look at our roster, I can make a pretty strong case that he is needed at the WR position more than the safety position for the future. If you disagree, make a case for it, you don't have to try to derail a legitimate, civil conversation. Obviously we will have more recruits and experience by the time he is a RS-Soph, but it's not guaranteed everyone pans out and stays healthy.
  16. Dual-Threat Quarterback Washington, DC (St. John's College) Ht: 6-1 | Wt: 190 | 40: 4.35 if you want to add in that info from 247..

Sure, throw in Gladney in there too. The point remains that right now after two seasons, we only have 3-4 players to play 3-4 WR spots. I'm not saying we are bare at WR, that is obviously not the case, but we need to continue building our depth at the position, we can't just be content because we are loaded at the moment

  19. He only announced his decommitment from NU. He hasn't committed to Kentucky yet. I know our chances are at like 10% right now, but we will still send Joseph in for an in-home

  21. I think he has a chance to play and get in the three deep. I think he could be very valuable on special teams, too. He and braylon heard/jamal turner would be great returning kicks
  22. the SEC has won everything recently Kentucky has not won anything in their history in football. I think they technically won at least 2 games last year.
  23. Then why the hell didnt we take Akoy Agau to a football game? I'm actually fairly certain we did.
