Lincoln- The Nebraska football team donned half pads for a two-hour practice that moved inside the Cook Pavilion when showers and lightening came Wednesday, as preparations continued for the 11:30 a.m. FSN-televised matchup with Missouri on Saturday.
After practice, Head Coach Bill Callahan stated that injured linebacker Stewart Bradley had knee surgery on Wednesday morning. Bradley was injured in Nebraska's game against Texas Tech on Oct. 8.
“Stew had surgery this morning,” Callahan said. “I have not had a chance to speak with the doctors yet, but from what I understand, everything went well.”
Callahan stated that he has been very satisfied with the progress of the wide receiver corps under Coach Ted Gilmore.
“I think that Ted has done a very good job bringing along our young receivers,” Callahan said. “If you look at what he has done with guys like Grant Mulkey, Todd Peterson, Terrence Nunn and Dan Erickson, he has done an excellent job preparing the younger guys for game action.”
Callahan also addressed the injury situation of wide receiver Isaiah Fluellen.
“Isaiah is still working to get back to full speed,” Callahan said. “He has not practiced yet this week and will probably be doubtful for the game. It is kind of a day-to-day thing in terms of his ankle but we will see how it goes.”
Nebraska will continue its preparations with a Thursday afternoon practice.
