The less Marrow plays the better imo. He is our 3rd string FB and not even close to Janovich and Zimmerer.

If his knee needs it then I agree. If it doesn't need more rehab I expect both of them to play

They say that Wullenwaber is the fastest guy on the team, without pads. I am not sure if its the same case with pads though. This was said by Bell and Martinez last year's fall camp. If Newby is that fast... watch out lol. Flashes of Niles Paul in my head... Thank goodness Turner has much better hands than him, otherwise we would be reliving a nightmare! Honestly, I'd have to see how he picks up on our protection and offensive playbook, but it wouldn't of surprised me to see Newby as the starter if he came during spring. He is really, really good. Still astounded he wasn't a 5*. You really think he is that good? Ameer is a solid B1G back not to mention Taylor who is physically ready for college ball already coming in.

Jared Afalava, Zaire Anderson, Thomas Brown, Michael Rose, Josh Banderas, Marcus Newby and Courteny Love all say hi, and they obviously were a 2nd choice to Nebraska. Els shouldn't be coaching special teams, as I firmly believe he has enough responsibilities with being head recruiter and LB coach. Thanks to every coach doing extra work, our special teams should be much better than last year. What does listing a bunch of LBs that have never played have to do with his coaching ability or recruiting ability? From the recruiting side, he has done what I would say a very good job of handling that responsibility. If a head coach gets credit for winning and blamed for losing, then we need to give credit where credit is due. No, these kids haven't played but if they were signed anywhere else, that teams RC would be given credit. He's done a good job. He isn't a terrible RC. He is very organized and detail oriented. Doesn't make him a good recruiter though.

There is more reason to why it was said like that. Hedley's always bashing and being negative on EVERY thread he posts in. I will apologize to all the board members for my STFU comment. It just gets very old when someone comes into the threads, sh#t on the positive, and takes it to an attack on Bo. This is nothing new. If our defense can be at least average, and our offense can limit the turnovers, we will be set to a good year. With our talent, that I believe that can take us to the next level, we will have an enjoyable road down the stretch. Especially if recruiting keeps going uphill the way it has been. Bo is figuring things out, and for one not to expect us to be rocky for a while, isn't being true to the situation. Bo is learning, and is still learning. Same with all the assistants under him. Mistakes are going to happen, but the real question is, do we have the talent to bounce back from them? I believe we do. Attack on Bo? What did I say that was an attack? Stating the obvious in recruiting? You even agree with me in regards to his recruiting. Bo is going to be criticized he is the HC at NU! I have said several positive things in many threads. Feel free to overlook those and act like I hate Bo and want him to lose all of his games yada yada. No one else in this thread feels like I filling it with attacks on Bo etc.

'10 we were favored because the defense wasn't expected to take such a drop like we did. We had that game in the bag, but we folded, horribly. '11, I am not sure how we were a favorite, especially with the schedule they gave us. Bo has proven that he can run a solid team. National Championship worthy? Not yet because the talent wasn't there, except defensively in '09. '10, he showed he can get his team to the Big 12 Championship with a below average team, who led the nation in turnovers. '11, same thing, and had Crick not had that concussion, then go out with the tricep injury, we could have been looking at a better year. '12, piss poor defense, with a turnover happy offense, who held us together. TALENT wise, and with the coaches we have, we NOW have the potential to go a long way. I never stated that we have had that potential. Bo has gotten us further than I have expected with the talent we have had. Now that we have the talent, its a whole different ball game. Do I expect a National Title this year? No way. Do I expect us to get to the CCG? Yes I do. Win it? Depends on how good tOSU looks throughout the year, but if they are anything like last year, yes I do expect to win it. Win the Rose Bowl, if we win, depends on who we are playing, but winning the CCG is a victory on its own. How is my coaching staff theory interesting? Care to explain? We have a Secondary coach, who loves our program and is a SOLID recruiter. Same goes for Els. Garrison at OL is great, as he is a good coach and great recruiter. Fisher, Brown and Beck all speak for themselves. Kaz, his resume speaks for itself at Iowa as well. They ran a top 10 rushing defense in the nation since he was there. He is gone one year, and look... We have coaches who want to be here and want to coach. The only questioning positions that I am not sold on is, Pap at DC, and Cotton at TE's coach. With Pap given more control over the defensive calls, this will be his year to shine. With Pap being given more freedom with defensive calls? We have supposedly one of the best defensive minds in the game leading our team and we are giving more control to a guy that's resume is NU and nothing else only during Bo's tenure. Els being listed as a solid coach and recruiter is also completely opinion as he has shown nothing in either. Not to mention he openly said they did a bad job recruiting in season. Our special teams have been a joke under his watch as well.

Well if we don't have the potential, then how would we ever get passed it? I said I don't see the potential. When you are shown the same results for 5 years how do you see potential for better? We have been saying this is the year for the last how many seasons? I'm not going to be optimistic like previous seasons until Bo and Co show it on the field. Our spring defensively is going as expected with so many young faces. Between now and kickoff is where these boys need to grow

Accept what? I have yet to say ANYTHING about a young defense. WTF are you even saying? Accepting something, would not be me saying that we have the potential to go a long way. Accepting it would be like you and Hedley, saying, we suck and we will never get passed this stage. This defense is GOING to make mistakes, because they are YOUNG and INEXPERIENCED. This not true? The only difference between our lack of talent mistakes and our young and inexperienced mistakes, is the talent should overcome them much easier. We never said we suck and will never get past it.

Results with a below average defense. Again, you just nitpick sh#t so you have something to complain about. The potential is there. You can't see it, your loss. Didn't we have all this potential last season? What happened? We have gotten spanked worse and worse with each season. Bo wasn't hired to win them immediately either. You must be part of that delusional crowd SVP was talking about. He was here to build our program back to where it was before. Something he is slowly doing. If your truly that unhappy, then why do you follow Husker football still? Answer my question though... since you wanted to look over it. Again with this years schedule and offense all Bo has to do is be average on defense and we shouldn't lose more than 2 games

We are talking from a recruiting standpoint here. Bo found out how to win 9-10 games from the day he got here. That is why his recruiting has gotten better the last 3 years. His first two were rocky, because he had no HEAD COACH experience. Bo is still learning, so yes, he is getting paid 7 figures to learn how to do his job to the fullest. If its so f'ing easy, then why aren't you coaching big fella? I always love that line. "If its so easy why don't you do it?" I didn't pick that as my profession and if I did I would be held accountable and wouldn't be making excuses. Bo is the President of our football team. He spent years as a Coordinator which is basically a VP type of role. Bo is getting his extended shot at being the big dog. This season will tell me plenty about Bo and "the process".

So Bo was known for a dominant defense yet was unable to recruit defensive talent? Meanwhile an above average assortment of offensive skill players were recruited? Are you basically saying that a first time HC should be given 10 years to figure things out and win? Sign me up for 10 years of 7 figure salaries to learn how to do a job.

Valentine is still raw and definitely needs to work on his conditioning. Hopefully he takes care of this this season

Just getting us ready for the "we made mistakes out there and shouldn't have given up 70 pts, BUT we are a young defense and will improve" No excuses allowed this season. Our defense is young because we pooped the bed for years in recruiting. A defensive genius should be able to put a group of young talented guys and make them at the very least average. He said himself he didn't forget how to coach defense. Just how to recruit it Seriously STFU with all your negativity. We didn't recruit well BECAUSE BO WAS A FIRST TIME HC AT NEBRASKA. Coming in to clean up a pile of trash. GET OVER IT. He has proven he can put a team together that has the potential to go a long way, and his recruiting has gotten 100 times better. Bo didn't forget how to recruit, its just that he needed to show kids what he was capable of, from a HC position. If he would have taken a HC job at LSU, he would have had a top 25 recruiting class. Its not easy to recruit here. It just gets easier when you have a resume that speaks for itself. No reason to tell others to STFU that have a differing opinion then you. We both agree he and his staff recruited like crap and are now paying for it. Stop with giving him excuses. He had to have known recruiting was a the life blood of the program he has been at OU and LSU. This season it is time to put up or shut up for Bo and staff IMO a 3+ loss season is unacceptable given our schedule. This is HIS team and he has been a HC here for 6 seasons. This is his team and his players young or not. You act like I don't want us to win games or something? I want us to win them all and get over hump and back to elite status. I don't know what they expected. Shaka and Stevens were never going to Minny. Everyone wants those guys just like we did last year. They aren't going to get a better coach then Tubby. Best they can hope for is someone similar.
