  1. well, it is obvious that whoever came up with that list has never spent very much time in Tusk-ah-loosa, Al-uh-freakin-bama.
  2. WOULDN'T THAT SUCK!!! But at least the kids will all have enjoyed growing up together.
  3. Yep, because we had no chance last year? IIRC, it was neck and neck all the way until Ameer fumbled. ALSO, Georgia had MUCH more talent on both sides of the ball last year than they do this year. Please correct me if I am wrong Dawg fans. WE ALWAYS HAVE MORE TALENT THAN WHOEVER WE ARE PLAYING!!!!...but in our case it is like having too much bourbon and viagra at the same time.
  4. YUP...if I wuz gunna be in Jax on the fust, I can see now that I'd have to buy you a drink or four.
  5. I think the Georgia story was amplified becase we had 2 ACL's and a torn meniscus on one game at Tennessee. Just freaky.
  6. I forgot about Barber ...he got chucked pretty good in Neyland.
  7. that should be it for missing starters...and they were all studs too...we have those first three for the full season and we are at least playing in the Sugar if not in Pasadena...they were that big of an impact. marshall is technically the #2 TB, but he got nearly as many carries as Gurley. He is actually a tad faster than Gurley, but Gurley runs.....like he is mad at you. Marshall was always behind Gurley, but they were used together. In the bowl game, you will see Gurley as #1, then Douglas and Green mixed in....Douglas is the stumpy white kid that is kind of like a weeble.
  8. Huskers are good to go!!! ....but as a card carrying, bourbon drinking, bona fide, "Bulldawg born Bulldawg Bred and when I'm gone I'll be Bulldawg dead" member of the S.E.C. I can not abide or tolerate very many OSU, or "OhNoState University Bucknuts" or the very mention of Corch Irvan Crier. In other words...I don't like Ohio State.
  9. As best as I recall, here is a basic injury list that may OR may not have an effect on the game. Malcolm Mitchell starting FLK-ACL-out for season since 1st game-out-back up-back up Rantavious Wooten Sr Justin Scott-Wesley starting SE-ACL-out for season since Oct 1-out-back up Jonathon Rumph Jr. Keith Marshall starting RB-ACL-out for season since Oct 1-out-back ups are healthy/ Brendan Douglas fr and JJ Green fr Michael Bennet SE-torn meniscus-out for two games Oct 1----ok for bowl healthy Todd Gurley starting RB-high ankle sprain-out for three games Sept 28-ok for bowl healthy Chris Conley starting WR-sprained ankle-out one game Sept 28-ok for bowl healthy Josh Harvey-Clemons starting DB-foot-outone game Sept 28-ok for bowl healthy Tray matthews-starting FS-various games concussion, sprains-ok for bowl healthy David Andrews-starting center-sprained foot-one game Oct 19-ok for bowl healthy Aaron Murray-starting QB-ACL-season ending Nov 23-back up will be starter next year. there are quite a few more that I have not listed, but this covers most of the impact players for us. We hav enoticed a little fall off on the receicvers, but the new guys have stepped in pretty nicely. We were hurting with both starting RB's out at one time, but Douglas has been a nice little work horse during that time as has Green. You will enjoy watching Douglas in relief of Gurley; he is old school. The back-up QB-next years starter is Hutson Mason. He is a fifth year guy who has been behind Murray since coming to UGA. He was all everything in HS, record holder and all of that jazz...but it was all in Georgias highest classification too, and in the Atlanta area. He is a player, and knows the system. But this will only be his second career start, so it will be interesting to see what he has learned in the last four years. as a side note: the Gator Bowl better known as Everbank Field, is where the annual UGA-UF game has taken place every year for about 80 years; fondly called the "Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" or WLOCP...Georgia fans just call it the Cocktail Party or just "the party'...so bring plenty of bourbon. this is like another home game to us.
  10. the actual act of contracting a veneral disease is quite enjoyable, it becomes uncomfortable after the fact....such as playing this game again. none the less, I do look forward to NU-UGA the Sequel. OR as I have seen it called ....WLOCP-Jr. ( Worlds Largest Cocktail Party, in reference to the annual site of the UGA vs UF Lizards game )
  11. May be...but your boys did a decent job of being quick enough off the snap to open some holes for Burkhead and Martinez (on designed runs) Our D line wa a little cobbled together ( lots of frosh playing and missing two all SEC guys at NT and DE) but those freshmen will be starters next year. Big Red's OL just seemed to want to win, even if they did not have enough athletes to get it done. Having the heart was important.
  12. Chill out, man. Nobody is disrespecting you guys. We've been very friendly. You won, you have bragging rights, and it was a clean, well-earned victory. Let's not spoil what was an entertaining game with needless griping afterwards. If Taylor's comments irritate you, all I can tell you is that you should go back and listen to some past interviews he's done. He's a verbal train wreck a lot of the times, terribly uncomfortable in front of a microphone, and he doesn't express himself well. If one of our more well-spoken guys had said something like this you'd have something to complain about. Taylor is just... Taylor. He's a great player and a great kid, but a terrible interview. Let it go. My bad and my apoligies. we tend to get a lot of crap here in the SEC, and maybe it is for winning, and maybe it is for being southern...but we get pretty defensive at times because of it and tend to be quick to grab a pool cue. personally...I thought Martinez seemed like a good kid, and meant no disrespect to him. Y'all played a good game.
  13. SCORE-BOARD....you got the L, we got the W....your boys came to Orlando and were happy to be there and felt you had something to prove against a "might SEC team"...UGA was only irritated that we, had lost half of our receiving corp, two thirds of our D line, and weren't playing in South Beach for the NC. T-Marts statement may be true except for one tinly little thing...they did everything they wanted to except the important thing...win. Moral victories are reserved for 2nd place.
  14. I wasn't too impressed by UGAs defense.... But overall the SEC has the better defenses. I wasn't impressed with Nebraskas defense at all. You gave up 45 to a bunch of 3 and 4 WR's and two freshmen RB's. You offense scored 24pts. Bottom line: the Blackshirts couldn't play in the SEC, bt they could hold jock straps. You lost so quit your whinin and reload for next year.
  15. I think we were a little unfocused at times. Our run game never really developed ( not taking away from NU's run D) but we called some funky run plays and never really used Marshall on toss sweeps where he is better at. Gurley had an alright day though. T-mart is a baller for sure...even if he throws kind of weird, and no doubt you will miss Burkhead. He kind of reminded me of Mike Alstott.
  16. "see you next year on or about Jan 7? :-)" I like the way you think.
  17. The option: you do not know what it is. Which is the proper spelling for the plural form of the common term for the subspecies Canis lupus familiaris: A) Dawgs B) Dogs Nope...we don't know football..at least we don't understand football the way the Big10 plays it...we do understand football the way the SEC plays it. Nope...we understand it as a difference between the "option" and the "spread option." Nebraska players, please turn in your 40 times along with your shuttle times. Well now, UGA grades/entrance requirements ain't exactly Harvard or Yale, but I reckon being ranked as 67th academically in the nation is not terrible...since Nebraska is ranked 101st. http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/spp%2B50/page+3
  18. Thanks for posting, great game to UGA. Couple quick questions that I am looking for an honest answer on. 1) How does our O stack up agains SEC offenses? 2) Are our offenses athletes comparable to SEC ones? 3) What were you most impressed by in our team? 1) The offense is a little different than most we face. It is more in line with T A&M which we didn't get to play this year. It is remotely similar to UFs and USCe's. Martinez is very Johnny Football like and hard to contain. I really do think NU should try to get back to a little more of the physical running game that you see from most teams in the SEC and nobody did it better than Nebraska in it's heyday.. It is a good scheme you guys have. Let's face it, if UGA didn't have a pretty prolific offense this year, we would have lost that game. 2) I don't want to paint with too broad a brush on this question. Your d-backs were on us better than most. Your D-line played pretty good against us. The O-line was up and down. The quaterback was about as good as any we have seen. I think by and large the SEC is more physical and at times faster. You look at Jones and Ogletree. They are difference makers because of their speed, but they are on defense. I really didn't get to see enough of your receivers to draw a comparison. Your running backs were comparable to what we see in the SEC. I don't think they are top flight, but they are comparable with most of the backs in the SEC. The O-line seemed good at times and so-so at times. I really think the one difference in this game was our receivers snatching down balls and our running backs picking up extra yards after contact which may say something about the level of athletes at this point in time. 3) I think your coaches actually did a good job in game planning on both sides of the ball. Martinez was impressive. The offensive scheme was pretty good and hard to defend. You guys actually did a pretty good job on our offensive run game. We were a little predictable there, but still you shut down parts of it. I thought you guys played real hard and never backed down. There was a lot of confidence on that team. ^^^this^^^ I think most Dawg fans look at it like this.
  19. Let my try to keep this as simple as I can...so...in no particular order, this is what I saw from the Huskers: Decent run defense, even if we did not try to run a great deal. The second level of NU's D just did not have enough speed. But the d lin was impressive. Rex Burkhead is real! That young man is a baller. Martinez is sharp. Mature. And fast for a QB. He carries himself like a leader on the field. Does not get rattled. Impressive. Nebraska did not play very good pass defense in the secondary. I would guess partly this was an anomaly, and partly UGA having WR's that may have been a little faster/more athletic than was expected. BTW...UGA's 2,3,4 and 5 WR's were on the bench with injuries. So that speaks well for our depth there. Nebraska can throw some punches, and could with most teams in the nation...for three quarters. With some depth in a few skill positions, you get into a NC conversation. Big red has a well coached well disciplined offensive line. Everybody throws a temper tantrum now and again, but with some maturity that fades. Pellini wasn't outcoached any until the fourth, but at that point I think he just ran out of athletes to do what he needed to do. Gurley All in all I think it was a good game. If Nebraska has their starting center ( he was missing IIRC) then the O line performs a little better, and Ameer and Burkhead run even better. But then again, if UGA has our starting DE and starting NT that may have been negated. All in all, I don't think Nebraska could have beaten UGA this year : UGA was missing several starting WR's Benett 345yds in 5 games Brown 469yds in 8 games and Mitchell 572yds in 12games..those three accounted for 12 TDs . Chris Conley (2 long TD's) was actually UGA's #5 or #6 WR......I don't know what the Huskers were missing besides their center. I was just pointing out the offensive production for UGA had some fall off, but still showed points. Still...Rex Burkhead was a joy to watch; I love the old school mentality of never quitting, and with his skill, that is the purity of the game. that's all I got.
  20. the fumble was reviewed. I thought he may have have been down too, but after watching the review I could not be 100% sure...neither cuold the officials ( terrible officials the Big12 has) and that is why they did not overturn the call. I did notice that Ameer did not contest it very much though...maybe that is good character on his part, but most RB's would have. He seemed pretty dejected on the sidelines.
  21. OK...fair enough. c$%ks beat us on the field, whether we were asleep or not. But Y'all were sittin at home while we were playin in the dome.
  22. rotflmao!!!! that is funny as hell!!!!
  23. we spike it and we get two shots, we throw the fade and we get three. I find it rather curious that a fan of a team that has been irrelevant in college football for over twenty years can second guess a coach that has won more games in the last five years than ND has in the last ten...and we have been bad in the last five years. As I recall, Notre Dame has one LB, and a near loss to .....Pitt!?! Only a head case kicker from outback Pennsyvania kept the Irish from being irrelevant once again, and playing inthe Music City bowl against Louisiania Tech, or Louisiania Monroe( who would probably beat you like they did Auburn) Notre Dame is a "usta be" and never will be again. I am quite sure the rest of the country will thoroughly enjoy watching Bamas offensive line doi their best impression of a D-9 caterpillar on the gold helmeted front seven...oh yeah, it is comin, and there is nothing you can do about it. Lacy and yeldon will finish that game with a buck twenty five each, and the Bama D wil lhave their way with ....what is that LITTLE running backs name anyway??? Oh and by the way...I remember the last time ND played an SEC team for a NC......17-10 Dawgs. even Hitler can't but be a little upset that the SEC is in yet another SEC championship, and the best competition the NCAA could come up with is freakin Notre Dame... Oh an Nebraska, thanks for being such gracious hosts to us Dawg fans here....but we are still gonna whip y'alls azz.
  24. Lattimore is gone. USC lite got lucky in 2010. UGA was asleep at the wheel in 2012. USC lite was not relevant till SOS got off the bus. Cola is built at the screen door to hell. That is pretty much all there is to know bout the c$%ks....y'all.
  25. now that sounds eerily similar to what I read over on mizzou's message board when they first got into the SEC. Don't be like that man.
