  1. I just wanted to post a message to all of you who said I was an idiot for thinking that BC would play Beck at this point in the season. I guess you were wrong. I wish the game was televised so we could have got a better look at Beck, but oh well Instead we were able to watch KU for a half and then that game was dropped... I am glad Beck got some reps this game and will be a little more comfortable in the future if he has to come in and play. I think you should have done it sooner in the season to hopefully take out some of the first game jitters. I had serious doubts that Beck would stay here 5 years anyway if he is as good as they say he is. Especially if the line continues to suck. Special teams were amazing today, now if only the rest of the team could be as consistant as they are we would have something going.
  2. I think firing Pud is the wrong thing to do.... We need to arrest his butt for intentionaly wrecking the years of Husker tradition. I am not saying the death chair or anything, just 20-30 years, or maybe he stays in until are back in the top 25 for 18 years or what ever. Seriously, I think there needs to be some major coaching changes especially the oline and defensive cord. BOth of these areas get worse every game.
  3. If we played at Ohio, I would be very nervous, after all we both appeared to be equal teams against Pitt ( infact Ohio was a little more impressive). As the players have said in the interviews that they just aren't getting it done on the road. This loss today hurts, at least we beat Baylor so we won't be at the bottom of the big 12 when everything is all said and done. One game left that we can win. Hopefully everyone shows up. BC sure isn't smiling much anymore with the losses. I think he is very concerned...... It's about time to be concerned. I guess on the bright side of things...., if this trend continues BC won't be quiting for an NFL job anytime soon. Oh yeah, if Solich was here the media would be bashing on NU for keeping around a mediocre coach, so I do not give them much credit.
  4. Congdon and Koch are the real studs on are team. Way to go guys. At least those rankings are respectable. I had the same question about how are ranking went to hell after the first three games, but then I realized we had a good defense against some pretty poor teams. No we are playing average to above average teams and they are picking apart the defense for the first quarter anyway. I hope this week it changes, but we will see.......
  5. No, I don't want BC fired. No I don't want to get rid of the WCO. I just want to see an offense that works consistantly, and is not predicatable. Beck is stepping up a level in the game. He is now playing agaisnt the best college players, not just HS players. He very well may cut it, but we won't know for sure until he actually gets in the game. I think that if he is successful he will leave NU after 4 years here, one way or another. The NFL pays pretty well. The more I think about it I think at this point BC will leave Taylor out hanging out there and save Beck for next year when we have some good linemen. On another note, I heard BC pretty much squashed the walkon prgram at NU. Is this true? It seams to me we used to get a large number of great linemen as walk-ons from NE and surrounding states. Any thoughts?
  6. Is Cosgrove Going back their? Were they comming to NU to convince they need him back....... Maybee they are going to take the 7 inch WCO playbook back to Wisconsin
  7. I love the fact they had the tribute to the 95 team, wish I could have been there to see it. I think they 95 could have been a distraction to the players. I mean think of it, your playing now, you see the awsome team higlights of 95, and then you think for a moment... We have lost every record the previous two decades of Husker players produced. I am not intending to knock our players this year, I just am thinking of it form their perspective. THe Seniors have been on a team that has plummeted in standing and ability. It has to be frustrating for them. I just don't think they will be able to look back on their Husker careers with the same pride as previous teams. It is really sad for them. THese kids do have a lot of heart though they keep fighting, they just need a lot more talent and speed.
  8. No I am not saying that, but Cosgrove gets too conservative at times. Especially with Hodges. He figured out how to stop them with pressure, and then he dropped back into prevent defense on their last drive. Granted minus the fumble we win, but why not continue with what is working. I just don't understand why it takes so long to slow down the opponents Offense
  9. Yep the talked to TOM and Berry. BOth were very respectful of each other Switzer said he would vote for TOm Govenor. I particulary liked the part of the discussion where they said they would like to see some of TO 95-97 players on the team now. Berry said... I bet they would like to see your playbook back again now too>> Ha ha . It made us all laugh anyway. All in all it was a good interview/discussion between to football greats.
  10. Right but why not play him then? We might as well use him while we have him... Besides we might as well see how good he is, if he can't cut it then we need to do some better recruting. How is Becks speed anyway. It is painful to see the o-linemen being as fast as our QB
  11. It almost seems like the coaches don't realize what is working in the game. FOr instance why does COsgrove go to prevent defense against T Tech when bliting him was the only thing that stopped his passing attack? Why does it take COach C so long to adapt to the other teams offenses. THe post game show they said that OU was showing them some new looks, and so at half time they made adjustments. WHy does it take our coaches so long to make these changes, it is not like the players are playing both ways. Fix the problem before the other team scores a ton of points>>>> if we do that we don't always have to come from behind. Maybe a different look on offense is in order. I know run the option once..... I know tha will never happen because BC would be afraid it would work better than the WCO. Oh well.... It has to be tough for the players the last few years watcing all the milestones and records the previous teams have set, slowly slip away. Not really the way you want to be remembered.
  12. I agree that BC may not be playing Beck because our Oline is so bad this year. I guess my only concern is that if Beck is as good as they say he is, why would he stay around another year? As much as the NFL pays...I think Beck leaves us a redshirt Junior, but we will see.
  13. NCAA refs have decided that holding is an okay offensse and decided not to call unless you tackle the defensive player. It sucks but they don't call them.
  14. I have serious doubts if we will win another game this season. Defense is getting worse and offense..... well it existed one game this year. Yet another streak will fall on Peterson's watch when we lose to Kansas. Why do the Huskers make every mediocre team look great? I am getting sick of this. Why did BC not keep up with the short passes in the flats. Taylor could not hit anything beyond 15 yards or so. SO pick them to death with the little stuff. Why does BC not try Beck at QB? Most coaches realize, when a QB has no rythm going it is time to try another QB to see if something else will work. It may be that our line is so bad this year he does not want to risk our star QB, so he just hangs Taylor out there this season, wating for great things next year. Oh well enough bitching.
  15. I read several Balor posts last night as well. Hopefully the officials do get reviewed as a previous post stated could happen. It seems both teams fans saw some of the worst officiating yet. What was up with Baylors first TD. I thought the replay showed clearly his foot touched down out of bounds before he reacehd out to stick the ball into the endzone . Oh well. I guess according to one Baylor post there was an extremley late hit (something like 30 seconds after the play was dead on a kick off) by Baylor and everyone there saw it, but the Zebras. Go figure. It also appears the Baylor fans were pretty upset about Parks sub in the fourth quarter. I for one was much more concerned when he came in than before. That kid has a cannon, thankfully it was not accurate last night, but we will see in the future.
  16. IN my perfect world.... Texas Tech Beats Texas, and we meet again in the Big Twelve CHampionship. This time we knock Hogdes smile of his face from the get go. THe blackshirts seem to be hitting a little harder, but still none of the hits like we used to have. The old blackshirts would hit you so hard you would fumble the ball ( as well as forget where you were at for a play or two. With a few exceptions this year they seem to try and wrestle with the offensive player to get the ball. I for one would like to see a lot more picking them up and putting them down on the turf . Kudos to the OL this week, they are finally starting to push the defense around a little.
