  1. With the issues Nebraska has with recruiting the metro area, glad to hear they have meet-and-greets in Omaha.
  2. Why is Omaha not scheduled on the tour?
  3. "Commitment" is a term the coaches and recruiting services chose to use, so it's more like...
  4. Committed to 7 schools? Glad he understands the term “committed”. This is why I think we should refer to a prospect’s decision of joining a recruiting class before NSD a “selection”. They are not “commits” but “selects”.
  5. This is the most rational way that you have stated your perspective. I think you are right, too an extent. The only reservation that I have about fully agreeing is (1) the 2018 recruiting class under Frost finished very strong and (2) we are only in June for the 2019 cycle and there is way too much time until NSD to assume we know how this class finishes. For how long the recruiting process is and how in the dark fans are about recruiting strategies, I feel the best perspective is to not overreact to the day-to-day but to be patient with the process. Now, the story changes in January.
  6. To be fair, StPaul is not complaining about the recruits that are committing, rather the offers to prospects who are some combination of low rated, few Power 5 offers, hold an UCF offer, qualifier risks, or are undersized. Also, complaints about recruits not committing...(currently June).
  7. To save you 1 minute of your life (minus the few seconds it takes to read this): He committed to Missouri.
  8. I don't think anyone would try to argue that their OL (& RB for that matter) recruiting is lacking.
  9. That is the most likely scenario in which the QB room reduces. Otherwise, I would think everyone on the roster stays for next season, and we add McCaffrey.
  10. If there was a moment in which a recruit’s Top 5 list ‘jumped the shark’, this is it.
  11. Well, then don't infer that from what I said. My point is Nebraska got a guy who had a fair number of INTs last season. The "square peg, round hole" issue is that takeaways are necessary in the new defense, and last season, our CBs had zero INTs. It would be a (welcomed) surprise that Jackson gets 4 INTs next year, but the fact is he has the capacity to create turnovers.
  12. Nope, but I am sure you don’t mean to say that experience and stats are meaningless unless they occur in the B1G. The new defense is built on takeaways, so they get a guy with 4 INT at the JUCO level last season. I don’t see how this is a hill you want to die on. S#!tting on the old staff is warranted and relevant because (1) they were terrible and (2) it was last season. I doubt that is a hill you want to die on, either. Still, the point about Jackson’s stats is the need to have players that can create turnovers.
  13. He plays in a league against Arizona Western, the school where Elijah Blade is currently (not to mention Desmond Bland). Blades only had 1 INT vs Jackson's 4 INT. I guess here we are comparing apples-to-apples. BTW, Blades has 16 D-1 offers, including Alabama, LSU, Florida, Miami, and Oregon.
  14. Agreed. This is clearly what is going on. The coaching staff obviously made an evaluation and determined that he will help with the depth issue, so I am assuming they expect that they can develop him into a contributing role, rather than strictly being a body on the depth chart.
  15. The CB cupboard is bare, in terms of proven commodities and bodies in general. It should be a surprise to no one that this staff is looking for JUCOs/grad transfers at this position. If Jackson is a 2015 recruit, that means he is either a 1-for-1 or 2-for-2 guy. If they have a scholarship to burn for the year, this gives you a player to develop and provide some depth at a razor thin position. BTW, he had 4 more INT individually than all of our CBs last season.
  16. Burroughs and Green are wrestling in the Final X event at the Devaney Center this Saturday.

There are some other notable wrestlers, including the current pound-for-pound best wrestler Kyle Snyder.

  17. A low to mid 3-star recruit. Seems like a developmental guy, prototypical for Wisconsin.
  18. Here’s an article providing “updates” about Watkins’ recruitment, without actually saying much. Essentially, he is thinking about visiting Nebraska, talks to Daniels and his old HS coach about Nebraska, and is looking at other schools (Alabama was mentioned). Personally, I don’t think there is much to get excited about until he visits; if he visits. Also, heard his visit to West Virginia puts them in the lead; they are also thin at CB. http://www.starherald.com/sports/big_red_wrap/football/recruiting-graduate-transfer-cornerback-nick-watkins-looking-at-nebraska/article_d7687341-acec-52bf-bc04-58be4417276e.html
