  1. It's not just OSU. 79 of Rivals' Top 100 had an offer from Alabama last year.
  2. Pretty sure he moved to NE when he was 6 yrs old, so I would say he grow up here.
  3. Chuck Hagel's got our nations defense on lock. Now, let's see what Bo can do.

    1. HANC

If we are invaded by Wisconsin, then we are screwed

      The headline would read:

      Wisconsin "Barges" into Nebraska.

  4. Yes. In-state secondary talent. Got to love it.
  5. Top 3: Bama, Texas, and A&M. We are out of this one.
  6. #11th ranked TE with only three stars. Guess TE are under appreciated.
  7. For real!? Don't get my hope up like that. This would be a great get this year since we need to repopulate our secondary.
  8. If he is academic minded and wants into the SEC, I could see Vandy or Florida as strong competition. Bama does not provide the academics. Nebraska obviously is a strong academic institution, he has a brother on the team, immediate family living in the area, he would be instate, and has grown up in Nebraska (since the age of 6), so most signs point N (just not the SEC comment).
  9. Don't know of many sophomores who looked like D1 QBs. +1. I think he could develop into a good duel-threat QB, with a throw first mentality and downfield threat potential. His films shows a lot of promise.
  10. Starting QB of his team? Doubt it ZING! Alright, smart guy--> revised question, I wonder if Mixon knows him well enough that being N could sway Virgil to want to take a hard look at also becoming N? Better?
  11. Two updates. He came back from a recent visit to Tennessee saying it was the best he has been on. Rivals and Scout has him 'high' on N, so we will definitely now been committing with his instate school. Also, new Kentucky cornerback coach, Dennis Ansley (formerly at Tennessee), is now using the relationship he established with this recruit while at Tennessee to get him to commit to Kentucky. Sound familiar?!
  12. You can throw Jason Lohr in with recruits from Jenks. He was N for six years, spanning the Solich Era
  13. DUDE! DUDE is on my most wanted. What about The Dude? The Dude abides.
  14. Who isn't, right?! Could we get more in regards to his "interest" in ?
  15. Fine, Armstrong or Stanton. Stanton's got his helmet on, and is ready to go!
  16. I know we always mention the speed of a recruit for a skills position, but TV has unreal breakout speed and really stretches the field. No one even hangs with this kid on his films. In other words, 'Me likely'!
  17. Top 3 in a list of 5? This post should win 'Most Confusing'.
  18. A WR/RB? Great! Now, Nebraska can add another wrinkle in their three back formation. Martinez with Abdullah, Newby, and Cross in the backfield, and a lateral pass option to Ballage. This way even the pass plays can be rush plays in disguise.
  19. It definitely sounds like he would jump if Alabama calls. Bo and company have their work cut out for them. When he was recruiting Drake Martinez, Bo said he was hands off too much (out of respect and not to pressure him to come just because his brother was on the team) and may have made him feel unwanted for a time. Hope he plays this very differently, and highlights how great it would be for him and his family if he played at Nebraska with his brother. Got to use the edge this situation creates for him. No other school will be able to. Also, I like our chances over Alabama in the academic realm (which seemed high on his list).
  20. Are you comparing this kid to Martinez in HS or College? Because Taylor's lateral movement was probably far better when he was competing against other HS players and not against high level college athletes. That being said, I like this QB as well. Would make a great addition to the team next year. Better lateral movement b/c of better hip flexibility. It's really not hard to see. Look at tape of TM on any tape you want from HS until now, he never shows the hip flexion this guy does on cuts. This guy is loose in the hips, TM is noticeably rigid. Moves well in the pocket and throws well on the run. He reminds me more of Braxton Miller than T-Magic. Miller and Ulmer shake-and-bake as they speed down the field. T-Magic will hit some good angles and just flatout out run you.
  21. Always a fan of picking up wrestlers. Given their mat time, they have great balance and endurance, plus usually good hips. Lots of times yes, but if they are not good wrestlers they don't have those things. So you really want to look for the big guys that are top notch HS wrestlers as they will have the quickness, good feet, and good leverage. Basketball they don't get the leverage work but you can tell alot by if the he's a big guy and how he moves feet and quickness. Philips is undefeated and ranked No.1 in Class A at his weight. I don't know how long he has been wrestling, but MW has a great youth club and a good high school record. I would say Philips will be a very athletic big guy and a great pick up.
