  1. You can not blame all this on Tommy. Beck's playing calling was terrible, based on the fact that Bell & Turner were on the bench. There was a lack of WR speed, which is a real concern in the future. This team was able to go one on one & double team Westercamp, while blitzing on almost every down. You have to call plays that fit your personnel.
  2. Nice hands and a decent outside shot. I'd like to see him here with 20+ lbs of muscle added. He could be a force.
  3. I don't think Watson is a 30 minute a game guy as a freshmen. I don't know if you can say that at this point, he easily could be. However, we wont carry 4 PGs next year. Miles likes his guards to be able to handle the ball and score. We will probably see Webster or Smith move to SG.
  4. If they have a chance at baptiste, they might not try to get that RS for Smith... they might just move on. also, you can go 1 over w/ transfers/guys graduating early... Agreed! The one over would apply for this year, not next.
  5. Assuming Smith gets a medical RS, if we get Watson & Morrow we are pretty much done. The only other variable is Petteway leaving at the end of this season.
  6. Who are his final 3? I'd Have to assume NU, Creighton and Tennessee or West Virginia? Man, this would be a perfect storm to entice Morrow. Just from the "buzz" I am hearing... 1. Tennessee is pushing hard...if he gets out of Lincoln and Omaha this weekend without a commit it is not great news for Husker or Jay fans...its not the end but its not great. 2. Morrow is getting slowplayed by a few other big ten teams and he might be looking for another offer Morrow is waiting for a schollie from Illinois, but they got 2 PFs last year. There is no room on their roster. I think there is better than a 50% change we get Watson and Morrow could follow.
  7. We have four more scholarships I thought I am sure we are holding one for white, Morrow, Watson & SG.
  8. Maybe since Jacobson committed, we have no more room for him.
  9. Not true at all. We are thin at this position and we will most like take a couple.
  10. Well kids with that kind of highlight tape don't usually end up at Nebraska. Hopefully this one is different. He would make an impact immediately. Our only hopes is NU ties.
  11. I'm going to go with Maryland. Distance. Nebraska has the best facilities, with 3 PG (if Webster does not move to SG). Maryland is closer and has 2 PG on roster. Minnesota has 1 pg on the roster. I think it is a toss up.
  12. It hurts, but we still have one more big than last year. Hopefully Abe can stay out of foul trouble and Hammond can give us a few minutes off the bench.
  13. I agree, but weight room should help the inside game.
  14. Why, because he has not be evaluated yet. He has not been "evaluated" by the dorks at rivals...he has been evaluated by hundreds of D1 college head/asst coaches, numerous times yet has not much in the way of offers. Plus, he plays the same spot as Morrow...which might mean Coach Miles doesn't have a great feeling about Morrow who I think just participated in the top 100 camp AND plays for one of if not the premier high school program in the country, which will just mean even great competition. This kid plays the same competition. In fact, his team beat Morrow's team this year. Also, PF is a position we are very thin at after this year. These 2 players are very different, as Jacobson is bigger and Marrow is more athletic. I like this kid. I think he will be a beast after a couple of years in the weight room. I hope for Husker Hoops that you are right... I hope to think that this is a replacement for Pinder who went Juco and Illikainen who is going to prep school. Both might be looking to get more exposure.

  16. Plus, $30K College Trust Fund Sorry, $130K
  17. You need to be a member to view. Thats why he was asking..... I know, I was just expanding on his request.
  18. Minor league players only make $30K a year. He plays in the minor for 3 years and makes a little over a million or he goes to NE and gets a degree, Then he gets drafted higher and gets a signing bonus of 2 to 5 million. Nothing is guaranteed, but he could get an insurance policy to cover injury.
  19. Catcher is a position that is hard the body. He can hit for average & has decent speed. If he develops more power, he could move to the OF. Also the kid was a closer in HS and can throw low 90s.
