  1. I'm with ya Klotz. I only wish I could be in Memorial Stadium next week. Our fans need to bring the noise. I completely forgot about what a big recruiting weekend it is. I can promise you guys i'll be the loudest cheering fan in my living room. GO BIG RED!
  2. As much as it is going to kill me on the inside we're going to have to cheer for CU to beat MU.
  3. I think they may have exposed something with the no huddle offense. Our defense is much better this year because of our ability to rotate players in and out. If our opponents run a no huddle it limits our ability to do so. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Just a thought.
  4. Exactly. Our LB's can run down Bomar. Something they couldn't do agains Smith. It was almost like he was in real time and our guys were in slow motion.
  5. Even with a hurt ankle, he still draws a lot of the attention so I think he can make an impact in that way. I haven't really been following his injury so I'm not sure of his status. I wish him a speedy recovery because he's a great player, but for the sake of the huskers I hope he's not able to go.
  6. good points, except that Thomas hasn't exactly looked "ready for D1 football" either. Forger D1, this guy could not play for several high school teams around here.
  7. Does anyone else think that if Smith played for a team like Miami or Michigan he'd already have a couple Heisman's?
  8. Assuming Taylor doesn't get killed by a vicious hit from a DE (probably one that blew past Thomas) we should be alright next year, as for beating USC, I think it depends a lot on how we continue to progress this season and continue to get a better feel for the offense.
  9. He looks very athletic/explosive, but does he have break away speed? I can't tell yet.
  10. I'm officially done talking about the Mizzou game. You won't read another post from me about it. All I'm thinking about now is Oklahoma. The Mizzou game is the worst we're going to look all year and that's something I can be excited about. There's not more guys like Brad Smith we have to stop so I'm going to go with the old 24-hour rule and now I'm thinking about beating some sooner a$$.
  11. It's tough to run the ball when the other team is ahead by a couple touchdowns and you know your D can't stop them.
  12. You sure know how to cheer us up after a tough loss
  13. You made some great points. I hope you're right. GO BIG RED!!
  14. Yep , that was way too easy. Blitz your middle LB, leave your safety at home. Blitz your safety , leave your middle lb at home. That was a terrible formation with a running qb. If Brad Smith doesn't slip through the arms of Ickes, it looks like a brilliant play call on the blitz. We were really close to stopping that. Smith is just too good. Also remember we have two outside linebackers out. Anyone else think Octavien would have made a big impact in containing Smith?
  15. I think Coach Coz made a decision to take the big plays to their tight ends. (which he did by the way) But by doing that it left lanes open for Smith to pick us apart. It's not our fault that Jesus came down from the heavens and stepped into Brad Smith's jersey for 3 hours. When a guy has a game like this there's not much we can do. I tip my hat to the guy. He's absolutely brilliant sometimes. No matter what we say on this board, there's noone who could have stopped Smith today. If we rush more the tight ends kill us over the middle.
  16. Here's an optomistic thought... OU, KU, KSU, and CU don't have anyone remotely close to Brad Smith as far as a run-pass threat. I don't think our defense will look that bad again this season. If we can fix our O-line problems we can still win the rest of our games. Colorado may be good but Klatt isn't going to run for 200 yds.
  17. Good point about Zac's favorite targets changing from game to game. I think the point you made is that Zac really doesn't have a favorite target. He finds the open recievers and he gets them the ball. I'd much rather him do this than try to force a pass to one of our "better recievers". (assuming we have some recievers that are better than others)
  18. A 2 or 3 loss season is not out of reach. We shouldn't give up hope yet. You can still build for the future while playing for the present.
  19. This is gunna be a long week. Always is after a loss. I really need to find a way to make time go by faster this week so we can get to the OU game. The quicker we play another game the quicker I stop complaining about this one.
  20. I'm really trying to realax and think about things logically, but losing to Misery is something I have a hard time swallowing. So I'm gunn be pissed off for a little while.
  21. Hardy and Brooks do appear to be good athletes but I don't see either of them making an impact this year. Maybe Brooks doesn't get the offense yet, and maybe Hardy is a little banged up. I think next year these two can make an impact. The guys that are getting most of the reps during the games are not going to make anything special happen. I think we need to find a way to get Nunn the ball more, he may be the only real threat we have as far as YAC goes.
  22. Maybe we should have taken him out a little early. The guy nearly got killed today.
  23. He blocks the 300 lb. DT's better than our O-line does. I feel really bad talking about our O-line like this, I don't usually like to talk bad about college athletes, but it seems as if they're not even trying that hard. Not once during this game did I see a lineman helf Taylor up after they let someone by and he got drilled.
