Do you guys have any plans to meet for game watches this fall? I'm in the area and I would be interested in attending.

Too bad it's not during the playoffs... I'm hoping that will change this spring. He didn't look too good last night. The penalty kill played poorly. Allowing 2 PP goals on home ice is not acceptable for this team.

I would not. I believe baseball during the summer games only uses amateurs. MLB players cannot participate.

That is pretty darn funny. It's February already. Soon enough the sand season will be right around the corner. Hard to believe how time flies.

Did you watch that game last night? Hossa's goal was pretty darn sweet. Great pass from Hjalmarsson led to a two-on-one with Hossa and Toews for Chicago. Hiller was frustrated after Hossa blew it by him.

The white/green Oregon uniform looks cool. I like the look of the green helmet. The uniform on the right looks kind of bizarre. Not a fan there.

While dangerous, Oregon is not close to the same team that they were last year. Pac-12 player of the year in 2012, Alaina Bergsma was the one that really torched us and has she graduated. I actually think it is a good thing as we will have the revenge factor and less of a chance we take a second-round opponent lightly. It was the same situation with Kansas State last year, but they didn't win the first round match. Yep, +1. Oregon was not dominant in the PAC-12 this year. A lot of their great players from the 2012 squad left due to graduation.

Nice article on the Rolfzen twins. I find it amazing they were offered college scholarships in 8th grade. Wow!

Hawai'i's rainbow uniforms look all right. Not a fan of the Northwestern red, white, and blue uniforms, though.

Bruins are looking tough again this year. Like they haven't missed a beat since the Cup Final this past summer. I would make a wager they will contend for the division and the conference come next spring.

I hate Ovechkin. I don't hate him as much as Crosby... Sid the Kid, baby! Off to a hot start this year!! Though the Penguins couldn't get it done last night against Florida. Starting a rookie goaltender in the team's first road game does not usually bode well...

Flower looked pretty good last night against Buffalo, too. This is the level of play he is capable of. Would love to see him become a great goalie again during this season.

Wow, sounds like Wisconsin was hosed. That's a shame because it was a highly contested game that came down to the wire. Shouldn't happen like this. In these types of situations the referees need to be at their best.

Trading Crosby? I highly doubt that. To me that is an unthinkable transaction. The Kid is THE franchise. Add in that he probably has the most stringest clauses in his contract about being traded/moving to another team, and I highly doubt he'll leave Pittsburgh. I would think he is going to be a Penguin for his entire career - as much to the dismay of other hockey fans! Knowing the Pens, I think they will give Fleury a while to play better. But if he can't live up, a trade is possible. The Penguins certainly have the assests to make it happen. By the way, are you a Penguins fan? If you can't tell, I am.

Texas just lost to Arizona State this past weekend. Wow. The 'horns are taking their lumps early in the season. Any chance they are feeling a little pressure as the reigning national champion?

What were your impression(s)? from what little I saw, the Pens are gonna be tough to beat... I read that Fleury did not play too well. Only 8 saves on 10 shots, allowing 2 goals. I know it's just a preseason game, but still. Vokoun is scheduled to start tonight against Detroit. But I really don't think it matters how well he plays in the preseason. The team intends on sticking with Flower, according to the coaches. With Fleury or Vokoun in goal, they'll never win the cup... They are going to steam roll through the regular season, but at the end of the day, it's either going to be the Rangers, Bruins? Well, the way Fleury played during the last 2 postseasons, I agree. He was downright awful. Definitely a contrast between his level of play in the regular season those years compared to the playoffs. Vokoun is not a legitimate starting goalie. He is past his time for that role. He's a nice backup who can provide a spot start, or hold down the fort when the starter is hurt. From what I have seen over last year, the Penguins will only go as far as Fleury takes them. A team can score all it wants, but if it does not have strong, consistent goaltending, then forget about a run.

Great things to hear, guys. It's a good sign for NU to get off to a strong start. Looks like winning this tournament is part of it. Down the road in conference play I believe the ladies will need to be playing at a high level, given the B10 is a strong volleyball league. I look forward to them to continue the positive results.

Those Sabres jerseys look gross. Yuck! Not a fan of the main yellow color with gray and midnight blue. IMO that combination just does NOT look right with gold as the central color. The other jerseys worn by Buffalo where the blue was the central color look much better.
