  1. Michigan had its RS sophomore stud left tackle declare for the NFL already. I am pretty sure that discussion included the reality of not playing in the Spring and just bolting for somewhere that football is being played. I bet his draft prospects will be lower than if he played this season, and he was still willing to do it. I feel bad for the kid. More to come I am sure.
  2. Dang and I thought Mavric gave up on this thread weeks ago. NO to college football in January! Clemson will be playing Alabama in the championship game by then. Its fall or nothing....Join the Big12.
  3. Maybe the big ten can be shamed into playing. Did I miss the PAC12, or where they left out?
  4. "Why should we have to go to class if we come here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS." - Cardale Jones from The Ohio State University.
  5. Sir Yacht (Yaks Alot). A few zingers below. The Big 10 conference is reconsidering possibly having a football season this year, in response to worries of players bolting to other conferences or to the NFL, per source. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 15, 2020 This is in response to Ohio State putting pressure on the B1G saying they would join the SEC this year as well. Nebraska is threatening to join the ACC for good also. So there is an emergency meeting today in to try and prevent this. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 15, 2020 Source: B1G officials just met. Ohio State, Nebraska, Iowa and Michigan are set on playing this fall. Illinois and Northwestern are only schools that are not thinking about playing. If Big Ten doesn’t have football, teams will be allowed to join other leagues. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 15, 2020 Main reason for the call btw was that Ohio State and Nebraska will play elsewhere if the B1G does not have a season — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 16, 2020 Purdue is moving forward as if they are playing a fall season, per source. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 16, 2020 B1G commissioner Kevin Warren scrapped the idea of Big Ten teams playing in the ACC and the Big 12, per source. Warren is working with B1G presidents to reverse his original idea and see if they are able to have a conference season this fall. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 16, 2020 What I know about B1G and college football as of now: -Some Big Ten teams are threatening to go play in the ACC and Big 12 if there is no conference season -Commissioner Warren thus is trying to have a Big Ten season to prevent this as well as legal action from players' parents — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020 The teams that are the most vocal are Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Iowa. Everybody from the presidents, the athletic directors, to the parents and players, are pissed with how Commissioner Kevin Warren has handled this. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020 The talks are real. The B1G wants to have a season. It might not happen, but they are doing everything they can to have a season so teams like Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska and Iowa don’t leave. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020 For people that think i'm lying or backtracking, I am not. The B1G is trying to have a football season now. Everybody wants to and Commissioner Warren realizes he messed up. Several teams are pushing to play in the ACC and Big 12 this year if the Big Ten does not have a season — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020 Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren is “hoping to God” the other conferences cancel their college football seasons, otherwise he’s going to have to let the B1G play, per source. Things are getting really ugly behind the scenes. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020 In a shocking turn of events, unless there is a drastic outbreak of cases in the next few days, the B1G will resume their college football season this fall, per source. Expect an announcement later this week that the Big Ten will be playing again. — Sir Yacht (@SirYacht) August 17, 2020
  6. Who is Sir Yacht? I see what you did here. I should get a twitter account just to post random crap.
  7. Sorry if this posted already. If this keeps up, the ACC will be out soon. The Daily Tar Heel @dailytarheel BREAKING: One week into the semester, UNC-Chapel Hill announces that it is transitioning all undergraduate classes to fully online instruction, effective Wednesday. Story to come. Check this thread soon. 1:50 PM · Aug 17, 2020
  8. When the players at NW "unionized", a few years ago and the discussion on paying players started to heat up, Delany said that the Big Ten would seriously consider going back to DIV 3 like sports or Olympic sports only to keep the amateur model in place. I believe many of the schools would be fine with that. They are more proud of the academics and the CIC brings in lots of research money.
  9. I have no idea if this guy is for real or just blowing smoke. Anyone know?
  10. Up to 213000 signatures....maybe 8 should add mine. https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2020/08/justin-fields-online-petition-to-save-big-ten-football-gains-steam.html
  11. More info on the cardio study. The study that may have been used to cancel the B1G season continues to come under fire by Cardiologists and is discussed in this weeks episode at 3:30 in the link. With an altmetric score of 8860 and over 500,000 views, it’s not fairing well. https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/935699?src=soc_tw_200816_mscpedt_news_tho_twic&faf=1
  12. There were many Big Ten teams that were doing great...minus Rutgers and MSU...and they did so bad that half the team would have antibodies by now.
  13. It won’t, although I think the players would be safer playing ball. You just can’t sue the kids at the bar that passed it along.
  14. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/led-by-ohio-state-qb-justin-fields-big-ten-players-petition-to-reinstate-the-2020-football-season/ Just passed 80,000 signatures in less than 2 hours
  15. I am not sure where to put this, but I knew which topic I wanted to avoid. Not sure it’s worth’s it’s own topic....Probably nothing. “Venk Murphy, Professor at UM Med school/ Rubenfire professor of preventative Cardiology strongly suspects the paper will be retracted due to falsified data after seeing the statistics cited in it are nearly impossible to exist. Link below.” https://twitter.com/venkmurthy/status/1294406748678365191
  16. Actually over reported in Colorado by about 150. The gov ordered better counting methods after a dude died from alcohol poisoning and happened to have COVID. It made the national news. So we now have two numbers. Deaths from COVID which was somewhere in low 1700s last I checked, and death with COVID, which was up near 1900. When I look at at the NY Times data they use the latter number which is over reporting actual deaths from COVID. By the way, some Life INS policies do not pay out if you die from a virus during a pandemic. So if you were gonna die soon anyway and COVID pushes you over the edge you are screwed.
  17. This Topic: I am not dead. He says he's not dead. Yes he is. I am not dead. See. He's very ill, he will be in a moment.
  18. The coaches and players would nut up in a heartbeat. Michigan got permission and continues to practice.
  19. Not sure where to post this, but other Big 10 sites are suggesting that NU wants out of the Big 10 and is hoping to get booted. The next few weeks will be interesting, but I suspect the academic folks want to stay and NU will remain.
  20. Kevin Warren says no unless NU leaves the conference. https://sports.yahoo.com/big-ten-commissioner-kevin-warren-lashes-out-at-nebraska-after-critical-statements-023133028.html
  21. I am honestly hoping the SEC, ACC, and Big12 stand pat and have a successful season.
