  1. Someone got the message, maybe? https://www.foxnews.com/us/new-san-francisco-da-cleans-house-chesa-boudins-ouster-fires-15-employees-announces-new-hires
  2. Why is this do you think? “One of the most notable points of data shows that Democrats are "statistically tied" with Republicans in congressional ballots when it comes to the Hispanic vote. The metric becomes more shocking when turning the page back to 2018, when the Democratic Party held a 47-point advantage with Hispanics in the midterms. Also notable is an April NBC News poll, which showed Democrats losing ground in every demographic, besides college-educated women, where they gained 10 points since 2010. “ https://www.axios.com/2022/07/13/democrats-biden-white-college-graduates-poll https://www.foxnews.com/media/media-take-notice-hispanics-ditch-democratic-party-generation-political-realignment https://www.axios.com/2022/07/14/republicans-democrats-hispnanic-voters Edit: maybe this is why. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/07/14/republicans-exploits-culture-wars-democrats-performance-building-abortion/ “There is plenty of evidence that the Democratic Party has moved left, that it is out of sync with Americans on many of these cultural issues, and that it needs to correct course.“
  3. What about this Pod. USC, UCLA, ND, Purdue, Stanford.....poor PurDont.
  4. Then they really have no home except the Group of 5.
  5. I think using puberty blockers is a possible big mistake that cannot be undone, but if the parents, docs and kid agree, so be it. Each to their own. I would not agree to it. I would wait until the kid is mature enough to understand.
  6. This would be the correct decision in my opinion, or start third a trans division.
  7. Expectations would be nice. Maybe they are butt hurt because Michigan kept them out 100 years ago, or whatever it was. MSU still is for Michigan trying to keep them out.
  8. I don’t know man. I think ND might become the Big10’s version of Texas if they join. Other than the Big10 being more full of themselves than the Big12 was, they generally get along and move in lock step….the 2020 football season being an exception. If ND joins we might have way more drama. Sort of like an employee that demands, but doesn’t deserve a promotion.
  9. Maybe be careful what the left side of the party asks for… https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/12/business-food/starbucks-store-closures/index.html
  10. Is someone working on a vaccine for the Omicron variant? Omicron has been out for 6 months maybe more? We had a vaccine for the original in about 9 months right?
  11. Sounds like an idiot wide receiver from Michigan
  12. I have made jokes in this thread about kicking Rutgers out….I didn’t realize they carried this much weight.
  13. At this point I think I would prefer ND stay independent and have the Big10 move on. Actually what might be best is to have ND join the ACC in full. That might save the ACC and then the PAC/Big12 get picked over, or they survive as the 4th conference. This might be better for college football.
  14. More than just the media is listed in this poll, but they are in the bottom 5 of institutions we have confidence in. % of those who have high or a lot of confidence in the institution and how much it dropped since 2021 Newspapers 16% −5 The criminal justice system 14% -6 Big business 14% -4 Television news 11% -5 Congress 7% -5 https://news.gallup.com/poll/394283/confidence-institutions-down-average-new-low.aspx? The top 5 for reference. Small business 70% −2 The military 69% -5 The police 51% -6 The medical system 44% -6 The church or organized religion 37% -6
  15. I thought I read NBC was interested in big10 games, but I could be wrong. If NBC is not going to continue with the ND games after 2025 and no one else is interested, then ND will join a conference. I don't see FOX or ESPN being interested if they think ND will be forced to join a conference....unless they get a lower price than 80 mil. NDs choice would be to start getting 80 to 100 mil in 2024, or go with 15 mil through 2025. Seems like an easy choice. Let's see how savvy Swarbuck really is.
  16. He can certainly get more out of NBC in 2025. Will it be enough. I guess we wait and see. As far as the Big10, the only thing ND could probably negotiate is protected rivals and a full share right away. So for now ND stands pat and the Big Ten does the same unless the SEC reacts in a way that forces the Big Ten's hand. Meanwhile the PAC12 and Big12 limp along with each team positioning themselves for the next round.
  17. 2025. Do you think NBC is going to back out or pay more? The big10 thinks ND brings 80 to 100 mil to the league. NBC pays them only 15 mil. Seems like ND can ask for lots more.
  18. Good read. It's what I mentioned earlier about Oregon and Washington not bringing in enough money to the big10....yet. "Oregon and Washington are the two best football programs "in play" considering the Pac-12 is down to 10 teams; however, there is a reason they haven't been considered prominently in realignment. Industry sources say neither brings requisite value to the Big Ten ($80 million-$100 million per year)." "One industry source called Oregon and Washington "tweeners" in realignment." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/conference-realignment-phil-knight-resorts-to-cold-calling-for-oregon-as-pac-12-big-12-acc-seek-lifelines/amp/
  19. https://www.mlive.com/sports/2022/07/notre-dame-ad-outlines-3-reasons-to-join-a-conference-will-it-be-big-ten.html ND AD: “The three things that would make continuing as an independent unsustainable would be the loss of a committed broadcast partner, the loss of a fair route into the postseason, or such an adverse financial consequence that you had to reconsider,”
  20. I am personally fine with Washington and Oregon, but it seems like the B10 would have pulled trigger if they were fine with it. I think we need to round out the west too, but if it makes the slice of pie smaller they may not be in any hurry. I don’t see the SEC going after them either. They will be available later. Having teams in the SECs backyard would be great I think. Texas is out of AAU and brand name schools. In order, I would say, Clemson. Miami or FSU. NC. Virginia. GT.
  21. 80 million might be enough to let them in, but I doubt Washington brings that much value. B10 might be after others instead. They should try and get in the SEC footprint. The state of Florida.
  22. Right. If the B10 teams are going to get 100M per year after the additions of USC and UCLA, Oregon and Wash will have to add 100M in value each to be invited.
  23. I do not know much about Walker outside of football, but Jessie "The Body" Ventura was Minnesota's Governor. --it happens.
  24. For a second, I thought you were talking sbout Biden.
