"The wheels are in motion for NU's bye week to become successful on the recruiting trail. Recruiting coordinator Ross Els talks goals, strategy, and maybe even a little help from rap icon Jay-Z over the next few months. That plus much more inside the Bye week recruiting breakdown here." The Jay-z part? No. Just No. Last person on earth I want associated with NU besides Callahan

I thought this guy chose Miami, academic casualty? http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Devante-Bond-135160 -
This may already be posted and what not, my two favorite plays are the touchdown by Newby where he does his best superman impression at 3:17 and Randy Gregorys pick six immediately after. What was your favorite play?

What is interesting is the "roll with the punches" stance Bo and company have taken until the defense gels. One thing is for sure, anyone who has ever held a management position or job that carried quite a bit of weight will tell you "I was stunned" is not how you answer a poor showing. You outline what will change, how it will change, and where the team goes from there. Pap needs a fire lit under him or else he is just practicing the definition of insanity expecting a different result.

Deadspin just dropped a bomb - "fu fans"

Blasphemy! haha - waiting for you to get crucified for this post in 5, 4, 3... I think he's absolutely correct on this...if you're not around a lot of Nebraska fans...it is how people outside the fanbase see us. I remember chatting with people about college football in the late nineties here on the east coast about our dominant teams in the mid nineties and they all said that same thing..."Thug U"...always mentioned L. Phillips and how TO handled him and C. Peter and his fiasco. Even today people will bring that up in discussion about college football and Nebraska. It's sad, but I think he's absolutely remembered that way by people outside of the NU fanbase. I seem to recall Quinton Castille, Ndamukong Suh, Alphonzo Dennard. Hindsight is 20-20, I talked with a USC alumni teacher who asked if the "N" stood for "Nowledge", to which I responded does "USC" stand for "OJ chops his wifes' head off and get away with it"? -

After mulling over the tape, I think a wait and see approach is about the best course of action cornhusker fans can take. Sure, we all say things we might regret later when we think noone is listening who might back stab us. However, when all is said and done is the dogs' bark really worse than its bite? Give this guy the benefit of the doubt while a media storm ensues to see how the team reacts to adversity. -

For a guy who preaches accountability he has to understand there is a standard for a coach that is higher than anyone on the football team. I've had it with this "he has legitimate reason to rant about fair-weather fans". A coach who is in the top 15 paid college coaches nationally should expect to be under the microscope when you lead a team like ours. Shame on the person who released the tape today, but you can't tell fans to stay quiet when the coach of the university of Nebraska gives a middle finger to anybody he has a problem with. I don't think this warrants a head coaching change, but any child can throw a fit, and bo has to do more than soul searching after losses, he has to change the way he prepares this team. Not lambasting people who care about the program enough to give their opinion when they see someone not doing their job. -
Is this the aspect of our game that falls short of evolving? Time and again, the second half timid play calling falls flat against teams who come prepared and methodically execute what they practice. I'd suggest looking at michigan or ohio state which both have a meticulous relay and check playcall system in place, or, finding new coordinators because Ucla was reading us like a kids coloring book.

I learned that the wind must have been awfully unpredictable for UCLA's punter to look that bad fielding the snap.

We have nfl caliber recievers in Kenny Bell and Quincy Enunwa, if they are getting the ball remains to be seen.

Why is it a surprise Because outside Ohio state and Michigan the fine folks over at ESPN can't handle a third big ten school being relevant again? Do you know what the definition of surprise is? Alast, sarcasm never translates over the internet. To cause to feel wonder, astonishment, or amazement, as at something unanticipated. -

Suprise suprise, ESPN had three clowns predict Nebraska falling flat on their face against the Bruins. "Iowa nice guy" insinuated Mississippians are smarter than the Bug Eaters with an argument about as robust as his thinning hair. Should be interesting to see if we make ESPN eat their own words like we make most "experts"...

I agree here completely. If you are on the goalline and you hand to anyone but Cross I'd disagree with the decision. Well when the meat of our schedule comes about it doesn't hurt to have more than one option who can get the tough yardage. Teams like Michigan are gonna key off of the Imani's and Ameers when a score is on the line.
