  1. The justification is that the alternative is to be a whiny a$$ for the next calendar year. I've done that before, it's not fun. I'd rather focus on what I've like thus far this year. Still feel way better about the team than I have in years.
  2. Literally doesn't matter right now, because he's not getting fired unless they go 0-4 and lose big to 2 of them. Even then, he may just hang on. So everyone can piss and moan from here until August, changes zilch. It's Frost for better or worse until at least 2022. We'll see how that goes. I'm optimistic for 2-2 and a good showing against the ranked teams.
  3. I took emotion out of it long ago. He's getting a 5th year. That sentiment is premature. 4 games left.
  4. Also hadn't had to play 8 straight games with no break and 3 close losses to top 25 teams. Team was drained, mentally and physically. You could see it. Yes, that's true. I'm optimistic that changes for the better in year 5.
  5. That's debatable, but I get the sentiment. The Line failed miserably there, I have little doubt he was getting lit up regardless. They should've been ready.
  6. Shouldn't have been a shotgun play, that's on Frost. And we scored on 3rd down, Martinez was in.
  7. Illinois, yes. MSU, debatable. Michigan, that was a dead play but the refs let it go on and on in hopes of a strip. Minnesota, hell no, what was he supposed to do? They were all over him. Eat sack it's a safety. Throw it away and hope someone is close.
  8. We have a bye, they aren't that good, not worried
  9. I've been incredibly hard on him his entire tenure. This is the first time I've actually been excited to watch him play. Most of his fumbles have been strips, not poor carrying. Most of his picks were tipped I believe. He's making better decisions. Idk, I came around on him after Illinois. He's looked like the player we wanted him to be years ago. RB we're still trying to figure out who the cream of the crop is. At this point we just need to pick one and stick with it.
  10. O Line is terrible. The QB and RB haven't improved? I'd say those were noticeably better this year, but most everyone right now is only gaging how good a unit is by the win column.
  11. There will be Staff changes, maybe on Offense and definitely on Special Teams. There's going to be a 5th year. Everyone pretending there won't be can keep living in delusion.
  12. Everyone ready to hit reset again must really like hiring people thst won't work or extending the rebuild even more. We fire him now, we get a bad hire and the rebuild continues. Make a really bad hire and we will have to reset them and so on. I'm suggesting we break that cycle we've been on since 2014, 2003 if we're being honest. Yes, I do like our chances of winning. Iowa is obviously beatable, Purdue won't play like that again this year. Ohio State is going to probably crush us but who knows, we haven't let anyone crush us this year. Wiscy isn't good. The sorrow is flowing, I get it. But if people looked at it realistically, Frost would have to lose the last 4 games and lose them very badly. That's not going to happen. He's getting a 5th year, I'll keep saying it until it sticks.
  13. He will, and it is. And it's also based off of reality. We fire him now (unless he manages an 0-4 skid to end the year) and any potential candidates are going to scoff at the idea of coming here. If he can't piece it together in the W column next year, then yeah it will be a hell of a lot more understandable to potential candidates. Firing for the sake of firing because we're miffed about all the losses ignores that this team actually is capable of winning. But if he can't next season, he's probably done.
  14. This style does work, finally, in the Big Ten. We just don't have a line that can play it for 4 quarters. Backs get gobbled up at the line and defenders break through at will. Fix that, it works fine.
  15. Well, he's getting a 5th year. So
  16. Has zero to do with him playing here in the 90's. People need to get off this crutch. He's put 4yrs in, you can see the team coming together, I'm willing to give it another year. If you're not, I don't really give a s#!t. He's getting another year so everyone may as well get used to it. Literally nobody out there that would be worth a damn that would take this job if we canned him this year.
  17. Progress is progress, record be damned. We haven't been blown out and have been in every game we've managed to lose, even had a couple of the losses in hand before whatever act of football God decided to snatch victory away. Defense is playing sound with effort. Martinez is playing like we wished he would 2 seasons ago. It's still progress. From embarrassing losses, we're at close losses. Next step is wins. Probably happens next year. If it doesn't.....
  18. Because we can actually see progress. And what does panicking do at this point? Ride this season out. Barring some monumental blowouts, it's Frost next year.
  19. Well maybe like 111 of them, we play a lot of them. But the point is we aren't special. Haven't been in a long time. And if we ever wanna get back to being special hitting reset every 3-4yrs isn't going to get us there. We have a lot of problems, but we're still playing good football but not notching wins. If this year doesn't translate into wins next year, then we can collectively start panicking.
  20. It's going to be assistants, in about a month and a half. After that, next year is his make or break.
  21. It's always something for upwards of 120 teams
  22. It is terrible. It's taken far longer than it should have. This year is unfortunately the corner. We hoped it was last year, but last year was mostly a wash for all 130 teams. So it's this year. This is the first season we've played hard and effectively against every team we've lined up from. Last week this time we all saw it. But now that we succumbed to a team everyone expected a 56-7 beatdown of again we're going to piss and moan about it. The season was done with the Michigan loss. All we were playing for moving forward was measurable improvement. Losing to Minnesota is a step back, but we'll bounce back after a break and a Purdue win. Then we'll play okayish against Ohio State, then maybe we get lucky against Wiscy, probably not. Then we get throttled by Iowa. 4-8, 5-7 if we're lucky. More offseason of crying and fire Frost chants. Then before we know it, it's late summer and everyone having a tizzy tonight will be doing Stone Cold Beer Baths with Cherry Kool-aid yelling GO BIG RED! And it will be Frost as the coach, and we'll probably have a low pre season ranking to boot. I'm putting my chips on next year as the make or break. Nobody has to follow suit, but it's going to play out like I've just described, like it or not.
  23. He does deserve a 5th, legend or not. Everyone wishing this was his swan song must have a slam dunk hire in their back pocket. Or, we just want to keep hitting reset forever until we hire a magician that can turn it around in 1 year. Half the people being a drama queen today will be back to normal by Wednesday. The other half, well they can continue spewing nonsense that we have to fire Frost immediately to somehow feel better about ourselves, Idk.
  24. I did, it was disappointing. As I said though, fatigue set in and the close losses have taken their toll. Frost made some very questionable calls as well. But he was damned either way in the red zone in 3rd quarter. Go for it, get hosed. Try to kick, Culp misses. The O Line was trash today. Martinez tried. Defense was gassed and got burnt a lot, still gave effort. Loss sucks, probably cements another missed bowl season. Still looking forward to next year. For the first time in years.
  25. I learned that anything other than straight s#!tting on the coach or team is lunacy for 24hrs following a loss
