  1. The same people who are concerned with yards are the same people that complained back when Ball State racked up 600 yards and 40+ points against NU and we still won I remember coaches and players saying "what's the big deal, we won the ballgame" but we all knew those statistics revealed HUGE problems for our defense It matters Yes, it matters. The point being for the 10 million posts about it.....it's being addressed in more ways than one. It's why we have freshmen and a transfer playing significant time. And Pelini discussed what he's doing in his post game presser. In the regime you are referring to from the Ball State game, it was quickly reflected in the W-L record. I am tenfold more confident in Pelini's ability.
  2. This, speaking of what we know, we know Taylor can beat those teams..........TA we don't have the faintest idea. Point taken and agreed. However, only if Martinez' wheels are a full go.....anything less is Tommy time.
  3. We don't know about TA. We do know about TM. Plenty of history. After the UCLA game, Pelini expressed his disappointment in the offense over the first 3 games of the season. The 3 & outs against UCLA hurt badly.
  4. I am unbelievably excited for Michigan. I'm sure Hoke feels great about their last two wins, but I don't know Hoke so that's speculation on my part.
  5. Agreed. After Pelini's post game presser, this is what I think he was indicating as well.
  6. they played SDSU yesterday, the B1G will tear our asses up. Yes, Michigan tore up Akron and Connecticut. not sure, but did they give up 500 yards to those teams in a close game? Didn't look and don't really care. I looked at scores, not yardage. Wyoming beat Air Force last evening 56-23. I have no idea how many yards Wyoming or Air Force had.
  7. Depends on scoreboard......but Pelini gave some insight in his post game presser yesterday as to what he's going to do. But will Pelini do it? He has a history of talking but not backing it up. Your view of Pelini might be different than mine.
  8. Agreed......as others on here have written, Martinez is a turnover machine.

  11. I believe football is a team game.......and if a kicker missed 6 field goals that coach will probably go for it on 4th down if field position dictates.
  12. After seeing K-State get beat by NDSU and Michigan eek past both Akron and Connecticut, I'm not concerned it was "just" South Dakota State.
  13. This years recruiting doesn't look better? Seriously?? Well, then you go on to say one of our true freshmen LBs is better than an upperclassmen, so I guess you answered your own question.
  14. It has consistently worked at least 9 out of 13 times per season......even with poor talent the past couple of seasons.
  15. I agree with the point on the recruiting failures. The seniors on our DL are not as productive as we need them to be. I think the freshmen and transfer look great and will continue to progress. But yes, I would personally put recruiting as Pelini's top issue as a failure, but think he's done a good job addressing it the past two years.
  16. Zaire had help coming on that play. Pretty easy to see on the replay. Missed the joke again didn't ya. Yep, realized the emoticon was there after I posted. My bad. Z Anderson did have a tough day in coverage......it's understandable why his time gets limited.

  18. Pelini said similar in the post game presser
  19. Pelini's post game presser is pretty good in his discussion about what the defense needs. He talked about urgency and aggressiveness.
  20. I saw the same thing and IIRC, it was Zaire right after the pass interference call. He came off the field and Bo spoke with him and slapped in on the helmet. Not the previous Bo, but a new one that seemed to say "hey, its ok. This is how we fix it". Different. I hope this continues. Pelini did something similar with Gerry, Baptiste and Rose.....the camera showed each one.
  21. Who was a safety. Actually his brother was a safety. I should have clarified which Bullock. Josh was a free safety, Daniel was a strong safety. Fabian Washington and Pat Ricketts/Lornell McPherson were the starting corners. I know, I know, I'm a pedant No, I'm wrong......thanks for the correction.
  22. We just didn't think it would be coming into the season. It has been.
  23. It sort of could be a tough choice, but I thought Armstrong ran the ball a little better than our senior quarterback did today.
  24. Who was a safety. Actually his brother was a safety. I should have clarified which Bullock.
  25. He actually goes after the ball instead of just playing the ball. Haven't seen that consistently out of a corner since Bullocks.
