  1. Millions of Americans own guns and are NOT going into schools and shooting others. Somebody who is mentally ill commits crimes like we saw today, and it doesn't matter if its a gun, a bomb, a knife, or some other weapon, if a person is determined to do harm, they are going to find a way.
  2. Hey, this was a national NEWS story that all of us were unified in our responses....UNTIL this President chose to make it a political statement. There certainly are times and places for all sorts of arguments, but to make such an argument within hours of this tragedy is beyond words. Do you support him exploiting a tragedy in this manner within hours of the tragedy happening?
  3. The news today regarding the campus shooting is horrific. It's hard to describe in words the sadness many American feels when any tragedy like this happens. What is even more horrific, however, is that within a matter of hours...not days...hours, this President goes before the American people to make a political argument about gun control, and openly calls out that he is speaking to politicize the tragedy. This President has done a great deal to divide this nation moreso than any other President in US History, and its moments like this that deepens the divide. Those affected by this tragedy are still in shock, trying to deal with what just happened to a love one, trying to find answers, and rather than having the President there to offer his condolences, they are victims again of his decision to go on a political rant. Mr. President...where is the anger in your voice when Ferguson burned to the ground after many of your supporters helped incite the riot? Where is the anger in your voice when many innocent police officers have been killed in recent months due to the propaganda being spewed by your supporters....these same police officers that risked their lives today to rush to the scene of this horrific tragedy. Maybe for a moment you could put your political ideology aside and start acting like a real President, one that we can be proud of.
  4. Wow, quoting slate, one of the originators of the faux "War on Women" argument. I wonder why liberal protesters crashed a Carly Fiorina event, trying to shout over her, and began throwing condoms and her supporters. Talk about a War on Women. Democrats have successfully used the faux war on women argument in recent elections, and they fear Fiorina big time as she is smart, competent, and articulate, and they are trying to throw everything possible at her now, claiming she lies, was a terrible CEO, doesn't understand women's issues, married her way into high positions, etc... What's funny is that PP is not coming out and saying they are not performing what Fiorina described in the debate...they are just saying that is not their video. When pressed, they are skirting around whether they have performed such abortions, and you know there are whistleblowers waiting out there to testify at some point between now and November, 2016.
  5. The final stat (the score) is always the most important, but there are some positives from today's game indeed. I think Tommy is still playing extremely well, and I liked that they had him run the ball more today. I thought Newby was running the ball better today in the first half. Drew Brown looked much better as well. Our rushing D was superb too. If we had the right talent in the secondary I think that would change everyone's outlook at this point. Our defenders are 4 games into a totally new D, and while its' not all on them, I think many of the big plays I saw today were a result of our defenders giving the opposing receives the inside route, or on some long balls our defenders were not watching for the ball. If we simply do not have the secondary to cover opponents, then its up to the coaches to alter the scheme. If the defenders have the talent/speed but are simply missing the plays, then its something that can be fixed.
  6. If the sellout streak didn't end during Pelini's tenure after some of the humiliating losses many years into his tenure, it's not going to stop in Riley's first season. Expectations for a coach in his 5th, 6th, and 7th years of a program are much different that years 1, 2 and 3 for a new coach. If Riley's teams are not competitive by year 4, I think you'll see more fans become hopeless.
  7. Michigan has looked improved each week.....and their opener was on the road at Utah. Michigan is doing it with a strong defense and a running game.......which are two things Riley led teams have been historically less than stellar. I think you are missing the point. This whole thread appears to be a gut reaction based upon one common opponent (BYU). NU and Michigan have 3 more common opponents this season (NW, MSU, and at Minnesota). I think we need to not only let this season play out, but let both coaches have 2 to 3 years to get more of their players in the system, and then see where things stand. I think the only thing that can be said with certainty if you are doing a comparison is that, after 4 games, Harbaugh has won one more game than Riley has.
  8. Do you even read the links that you post before you post them? It also helps to pick a less biased source. Well for starters, this is a polarizing topic, so any source on this subject will come in with a bias. At the end of the day, the investigation will play out, and if it turns out that PP is not committing abortions at their facilities as they claim, and they are not dismembering babies that are still breathing, or discussing what to do with the parts and who might want them, then the liberal left has a right to be upset about these videos and the investigation. If the investigation and employees testimony states otherwise, then those fighting in the pro-life movement will be vindicated.
  9. If by late term you mean 20 weeks, yes. Yes I do. Unequivocally. That's awfully totalitarian of you. Apparently you don't believe in freedom and personal responsibility. Well, at least you are honestly admitting you subscribe to the killing of late-term fetuses that in most cases today can survive outside the womb.
  10. Wow, what a dumb question to be asking. For starters, if you are looking solely at the BYU game, two key assumptions are being made when comparing Riley and Harbaugh as new coaches for their programs: 1. The talent level Riley inherited is on the same level as Harbaugh. From what I recall, Michigan has had better recruiting classes the past 4 years than NU on average. 2. NU and Michigan played the same BYU team with the same experience level with the new staff. In other words, had Michigan opened the season against BYU and BYU had Hill most of the game, would Michigan have performed the way they did today? Probably not. Also, keep in mind, heading into today's game, BYU probably have the toughest 3-game opening stretch of any team in the country, and I'm sure they were physically and mentally exhausted heading into today's game. Another way of looking at this silly scenario is that, since Michigan State beat Oregon, and if Oregon would beat Utah today, and given Utah beat Michigan, that Michigan State would blow out Michigan when they play. I don't think trying to make these comparisons does a lot of good. College teams performance will vary from week to week, especially with a new coaching staff. Michigan may have looked good today, they could come out next week and suck it up, and then down the road beat OSU or MSU.
  11. Thank goodness...now if Obama and McConnell would resign, we might see some positive things get done in Washington for once. Seriously, how hard is it to pass immigration reform and secure the border?
  12. IT CAN?! OH MY GOD. If you meant a 20 week fetus could you please show me an example where a 20 week fetus survived and lived a full life? This is just one example of a UK fetus surviving at 21 weeks. You can do a search and find many examples. Of course with any early deliveries, it will take weeks in the nic-u before going home, but technology and medical advances have made this possible. I find it alarming that the UK even has a legal abortion limit at 24 weeks, while in the US we don't have any limits. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1021034/The-tiniest-survivor-How-miracle-baby-born-weeks-legal-abortion-limit-clung-life-odds.html So you can't find an example where a 20 week fetus survived? Not even one? I suppose you need to revise your claims then, eh? Fiorina's remarks made it sound like PP is a harvesting factory for the brains and/or organs out of LIVE 20+ week old fetuses, which is absurd and patently false: http://www.vox.com/2015/9/16/9342165/carly-fiorina-planned-parenthood Did you see this one with a PP executive discussing what it would take for intact body parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QRjeT1ZcDo And there's this: Umm...the federal investigation is really just getting started on this topic. Here is just one snippet of what's been uncovered. http://www.operationrescue.org/archives/is-planned-parenthood-committing-murder-a-tale-of-four-babies/ What is going to happen is that several employees from PP that have witnessed the abortions that PP and the left claim do not happen in their practice are actually happening. This testimony will refute the talking points on the left that all of these claims are simply made up.
  13. Good point Hedley. In addition to killing a baby, there is the other argument that individuals shoudl take personal responsibility for their actions, and that its not ok to kill a life for a roll in the hay with someone you don't know and love. So pregnancy as punishment? Forced birth because someone had unprotected sex is seriously some sort of medieval belief. People have abortions for all sorts of reasons. You act like all of them are just "oops! teehee!" or something. How about if some sort of deformity develops? Or their socioeconomic standing suddenly changes? Or dad decides to skip town? What if the condom broke or it just happened to be that .1% of the time the pill didn't do its job? You don't know these people's situations, and it's frankly none of your business. And a clump of cells is no more a person than an egg is a chicken. ---- If you want to reduce abortions, support planned parenthood. Providing affordable and easy to access family planning does more to reduce unwanted pregnancies than anything else. This witch hunt against PP needs to stop. At the end of the day, in the conversation of what we are focused on here, late-term abortion, you are still taking the life of a child that has a fully formed central nervous system, that can feel pain, etc.. If the fetus is capable of surviving at 21 or 22 weeks or whatever that threshold now is due to medical advances, or the baby is delivered at week 38 by the mother, if the father skips town, using your logic the mother should be able to kill the child in either scenario as that is an acceptable excuse.
  14. Actually, I think the record (and I'm not sure if it still stands) for the earliest survival of a fetus was closer to 22 weeks than to 21 weeks. It's not my decision to make regarding whether a 20 week fetus should be aborted but apparently you believe that it is your place to do so. Perhaps we can compromise . . . you can choose to not abort 20 week fetuses and you can allow others to follow their own beliefs. You answered my question and believe that late-term abortion is an acceptable practice. If you feel something is wrong morally, you don't make the statement that "people can follow their own beliefs" and allow that practice to happen.

Not even one? I suppose you need to revise your claims then, eh? My apologies...20 weeks is the target cutoff as there have been many fetuses born at 21 weeks, even more at 22 and 23 weeks, tc..The survival rate continues to increase with medical advances. So are you saying that you would support aborting a 20-week old but not a 21-week old fetus? http://dailysignal.com/2015/09/10/study-survival-rate-amongst-preemie-babies-on-upswing/
  17. Lord please help us if that ever would happen. Of course I am not sure if he could be much worse than Obama has been...both like to spend more in big government programs and rack up the debt without any plan to pay for those programs.

  20. Umm, if it didn't end after 7 years of Pelini's antics and letdowns on the field, it won't end now. The new regime is just getting started, and most people will give them at least 3 years to get their system and players in.
  21. Wow, you are wrong on so many levels with this post. 1. For starters, a person can be opposed to abortions without it being tied to their religious faith. I know many that consider themselves pro-life that are not strong Christians. Science, not religion, is proving the pro-life movement right everyday. We now know the full central nervous system in a fetus is formed by 20 weeks, meaning the baby inside the womb can feel the pain from such a horrific procedure. 2. Taxpayer dollars are paying for abortions, and you can search anywhere and find this. PP does not come out and say what the funds are being used for, yet thousands of abortions are performed by PP each year. http://aclj.org/pro-life/confirmed-your-tax-dollars-are-funding-big-abortion Key fact in 2nd link: "Although Planned Parenthood gets about $500 million in taxpayer dollars every year and offers other services, abortions accounted for 94 percent of the company's pregnancy services in 2013. http://www.christianpost.com/news/planned-parenthood-received-1-5-billion-in-taxpayer-funds-over-three-years-govt-report-finds-136411/#pLWqpLZsQWR2bDvj.99 3. Suggesting that all abortions performed by PP is a result of a medical emergency is absurd. The liberal left is pro-choice and believes that a woman can kill a baby at any point during the pregnancy, even if no medical emergency exists. Carly has pointed out that, in this debate, both sides, the right and left, like to argue to the extremes. However, most Americans now agree that late-term abortion (anything after 20 weeks) should be banned unless the life of the mother is at stake, in which case one of the two (mom or baby) would be harmed. I want to see Hillary, Bernie, and others come out and say they agree late-term abortions should be banned.
  22. Leave it to liberals to focus on everything but the core of the concerns about Planned Parenthood. Here's a video showing what Carly was describing, AND that Hillary and others on the left refuse to address. Do they support these procedures and the selling of body parts? Do they support late-term abortions even though science shows a 20-month old fetus can survive and live a full life? WARNING: This video is graphic
  23. Glad I was able to sell my tickets to Southern Miss just BEFORE this game.
  24. This team simply does not care. Reminds me a lot of the Wisconsin game where they are completely lost.
  25. Hmm, i would see the opportunity of terrible RB's and be encouraged.
