  1. Wisconsin fans and boosters are forming a "Please don't fire Bo" campaign as they are worried Nebraska's athletic department will get a brain and bring in a new coaching regime. Well, not really....but I couldn't resist. I'm sure there are many Wisconsin fans that realize we are the only program in the West that has the name recognition to compete with them each year, and are happy that they seem to have Bo's number the same way that Tressel had Michigan's number when he was at OSU.
  2. The fact that some fans like you are settling for meaningless seasons is ridiculous. Getting to 9 wins with 3 cupcake non-conference games and a weak conference is not that difficult. Winning the big games and a conference championship is. It seems some fans are so fearful of not making a bowl game that they are willing to settle for the Outback or Capitol One Bowl every year. Maybe that is ok with you, but I'm not willing to settle, and will continue to call for a regime change. Hey Tommie Frazier called..... He said take his jersey off..... That was like 20 years ago!!! Lol Glad to see that winning championships is not important to you...that explains why you are still willing to accept Pelini and his ability to secure a birth in the Capitol One Bowl or Outback bowl every year. At least he's done a good job of meeting your expectations year in and year out! Actually winning championships is part of my expectations. Just not every year, because it's just not possible in this day and age. I truly amazes me how we go from praising a coach to wanting him fired in a matter of hours. Greatest fans in college football.... Yeah right. Winning championships cannot be a part of your expectation if you are continuing to support the Pelini regime. What has he done to show you that he is capable of winning a conference championship. The closest he got to that was in 2009 with a team consisting of mostly Callahan recruits. I don't think many on here are changing our tune...there has been a steady and consistent view that Bo is not the guy to lead us back to the promised land. We all acknowledge that he's able to pull out 9-wins and get to a mediocre bowl game, but if you are really serious that you expect NU to win championships, please explain what he has done, or is doing, that makes you feel he can pull it off?
  3. One of the defining qualities of Bo and his teams is the lack of mental toughness, especially in the Big games. When you look at the two rosters from today, they stack up pretty evenly. Physically, we have what it takes to beat Wisconsin or other comparable teams. Just the fact that we easily beat Northwestern (which beat Wisconsin) is proof that we are not inferior from a talent perspective. This all comes down to coaching and mental toughness. A mentally tough team would have been able to recover when a couple things didn't go our way, and our 17-3 lead vanished to a 17-17 tie. A mentally tough team would have found a way to turn around the momentum, and keep the game close on the road. Unfortunately Bo's teams are not mentally tough, and it doesn't take a genius to find out why. Just looking at his antics with the press, fans, and on the sidelines for the past 7 years shows that the output on the field each week is a direct reflection of him, and when the team is starting to lose it on the field, it should be no surprise as we have seen week in and week out Bo lose it on the sidelines.
  4. He might be a bit torn now. It was his question that elicited the "I don't look at the big picture" response from Pelini. And you can only see the same rerun so many times before its time to change the channel. Sipple is a guy that is so afraid of losing his access to the team/program that he is unwilling to call it like it is. I honestly can't wait to see how he defends Bo on this one, or marginalizes those of us calling for Bo's ouster.

  6. Where is Suck-Up Sipple? After a humiliating loss like today, in past seasons he has put out an editorial right away talking about how some things need to change, but we need to keep giving Bo a chance, and he marginalizes fans by saying the "vocal minority" are once again calling for Pelini's resignation, and that everyone just needs to calm down a bit. It will be fun to see how he tries to do a tightrope dance with this performance.

  8. If you are feeling good as a fan after today's performance, more power to you. Part of the perspective of being a fan is what you expect to get out of the investment you make in a team, whether it's during the actual game, during the week leading up to a game when you are socializing with peers, or perhaps in the off-season when one might follow recruiting efforts to see how the team is progressing. As a fan who invests a good amount of my time following the Huskers, it appears I do have higher expectations than you, and I do have more passion watching a Nebraska game than a game of two teams I don't really care about, but it appears you are just watching Nebraska games like you would any other football team, and that is fine. I guess you should feel blessed that you are able to endure such humiliating losses better than most fans. More power to you.
  9. I agree with you, and began the "Let the Sellout Streak" end last year after the Iowa humiliation, and was surprised that there still were a number of Pro-Bo supporters that thought this was a dumb idea. In a situation like this, the ONLY thing that average fans like us can do is stop showing up to games, and jeopardizing the beloved sellout streak. I mean, who cares if we've sold out every game since 1962 if we end up with meaningless seasons. The only other lever to pull to stop the pathetic Pelini regime is for big boosters/donors to hold back....that would also get the attention of the AD.
  10. I feel like today's game is like Groundhog's day in the Pelini era. The team starts to give us some promise, and we think that Bo and his coaching staff have turned the corner....and bam...another humiliating defeat like we saw today. And what we usually see after these losses is the pro-Bo crowd continuing to defend him, and Suck-Up Sipple will write an editorial how it's just one game, and we should just all calm down. The players will come to Bo's defense and take the blame for their performance, not realizing that it's really the coaches that did not have them prepared for the fight. And then Monday or Tuesday come around, the sting has worn off, and we are just expected to focus on next Saturday's game, and forget what just happened on the field. I'm not sure where the tipping point is with most fans, and more importantly, the Nebraska athletic department, but how many years will we continue to hear that it's ok if we suffer humiliating losses on the national stage as long as the team gets 9 wins. Does Nebraska football no longer care about winning championships, and merely playing in a decent bowl game? Is that the ultimate end for a once-storied program, and it doesn't matter how bad the ride gets along the way as long as we can compete in the Outback or Capital-One bowl? That seems to be the trend in the Pelini era, assuming that time will heal all wounds. But this fan is tired of Groundhogs day, and what happened on the field is not ok today, and won't be next Saturday either.
  11. I think the key to the game is how our younger players react on the road in a must-win game. 1. Armstrong to me is the ultimate key to the game. If he isn't passing well, that will allow Wisconsin to key in on the run game and we become one-dimensional. He's got to hit some big throws early and often. 2. Drew Brown-On the road we need all the points we can get. If the offense marches down the field but can't get in the end zone, we need to come away with 3 points. 3. Pierson-El-He's definitely the wildcard factor, and we need to have some jet sweeps designed for him, and actually give him the ball to keep Wisconsin's D honest.
  12. WTF is up with these rankings. I just saw them and am shocked. Seriously, Georgia is now in front of NU...we beat Georgia in 2014, and they have lost to South Carolina, who lost to Missouri, who lost to Indiana. If we beat Wisconsin, and Miami beats FSU, do we move up to #7 or 8 then? I mean, and Nebraska beat Rutgers and Ray Rice used to be on that team. Everyone really needs to calm down. Except for the players, it would be nice if they came out with some fire. Give me a break man. I'm not talking about us beating Georgia 6 years ago. The current Georgia team has many returning players from the team we just beat. Plus, as others have stated, Georgia got killed by Florida just 2 weeks ago. Does that mean that Florida is considerably better than MSU? Essentially by moving us down, the committee is saying that OSU is the only Big Ten team that really has a chance of sliding into a playoff spot (assuming they win out and some other teams lose). With us being slotted behind so many 2-loss teams, if we would win out and beat OSU, climbing 12 spots in a few weeks seems implausible. I understand that we just need to keep winning, but for the sake of those that like to see rational analysis, its ok to point out the flaws in the results of the CFP rankings.

  14. Regardless if AA is in there, I really think the key to our game is how well Armstrong plays. In the loss to MSU, Armstrong came out too hyped up, then just started playing horribly until the 4th quarter when he finally seemed to relax. Our D has been consistent all year, and while they will give up some scores, the offense needs to have a better than average game, and that starts with TA managing the game well and picking his moments to make big plays.
  15. Let's see. Their coach that brought them into prominence played for NU, copied our style of play, the Ol and walk on program etc.... and they still don't have a MNC. I'd hate us too................. Spot on with that assessment. It seems that "Wisconsin nice" doesn't really apply to sporting events.
  16. Why does that scare you? As long as we beat them they have virtually no chance of winning the west. It's the same team on the field on Saturday no matter who else they've played. This was part sarcasm for this thread, but also pointing out that there is a definite imbalance in the difficulty of schedule for the league's "top" teams. I realize they make these in advance, and the top teams can change from year to year.
  17. Wisconsin's easy big ten schedule is what scares me. Seriously, they have the most favorable schedule I've ever seen in a conference the size of the Big Ten (or SEC) where you don't play all teams. They don't play MSU or OSU at all, and have their two most difficult games (Nebraska and Minnesota) at home.
  18. I think after our last trip to Madison, it was apparent that Badger fans are in competition to be the worst fans in the league. I'm not sure if its the frustration of never having won a football championship, or simply that Wisconsin nice does not apply to football, but regardless, I am hoping for a spirited game. As for Gordon vs Abdullah, both are great backs having great seasons. I'm not sure how much Abdullah's injury will affect his performance, but I'm sure if you asked each of them, they both want to be the best backs in the country.
  19. People will not screaming SEC bias until that bias truly ends. When you look at the polls out today, Ole Miss and Georgia are both ranked way too high. Georgia just got crushed by a struggling Florida team. And the real kicker is Missouri being ranked. That's right...the Big Ten's only team without a conference win....Indiana....beat Missouri, at Missouri.
  20. Our D played a great game against Purdue, but Wisconsin has a much tougher offense to defend than Purdue. Our D will likely give up 24-28 points to Wisconsin which means our offense must score in the 30s to win the game. Given what I saw on Saturday, we're going to need a great game plan to put that many point on the board against the nation's top defense.
  21. Nope, it's not, and no, we won't. The chain of events that led to Abdullah's injury started with this oft repeated mistake that has not been fixed. Handling a snap is Midget Quarterbacking Course 101. Armstrong is getting worse at taking a snap rather than better, and the chain of events that led to Abdullah's injury started with this oft repeated mistake that has not been fixed. Just tell Armstrong that he gets pulled for a series or two every time he screws up on a snap, and I bet he finds a way to fix it. Make a snap that ends up on the ground Armstrong's problem, not Ameer's. Exactly Bowfin. While it's true AA could get injured at any point in time, he runs with the right posture to be in a position that would minimize injuries. To me on that play had the snap not been botched, there was a big enough hole that AA would have scored.
  22. I too liked what he did running the ball today, I wish they would have him run it more We can't have a QB that is only good at running the ball though. We had that with Martinez for 4 years, and we had a hard time winning the Big games. We need a QB that can pass consistently well, and if he can run on top of that, all the more better.
  23. Yeah, I don't like how he seems to immediately yell at the receiver for every INT.
  24. Tommy consistently is making way too many mistakes at QB. As a runner he's doing well, but as a passer, he is horrendous. Only about 3 out of every 10 balls he is throwing is on target to the receiver, and the rest either require our receivers to make outstanding plays, or in today's case, they are perfect targets to the opposing team. As this point, I don't see any chance of us winning in Madison with the consistent mistakes and misses from the QB. I realize others on offense make mistakes, but TA's are way too common.
  25. Pelini was asked about Abdullah's injury at halftime and was really downplaying it. I don't think anybody knows just yet, but hopefully they are packing some good ice on that knee!
