  1. It looks like the Journal Star and Sipple are at it again, with two articles today trying to defend Bo. I know Sipple wants to stay on the good side of Bo in hopes he can keep his "insider" access, but defending the indefensible is getting a bit ridiculous. http://journalstar.c...fdc01e9e69.html
  2. Nice man...it's not easy to openly admit you've changed your views, but I commend you!
  3. I wonder if Bo realizes he is the laughingstock across every sports station today. You would think that if he already felt he was not going to keep his Nebraska job, at least he would put on a good face so some other team would hire him. I don't see him moving to another team as head coach anytime soon, but can see him moving back to a D-coordinator for a college or pro team.
  4. I don't know much about NIU's coach, but he's had the best program in the state of Illinois the past few seasons. My guess is he'll be looking for a move up in the coaching ranks after this season.
  5. Very true. I think he knows he is done.
  6. Bo's already had a chance to put his coordinators in. These are all his guys. I don't see why he gets a second chance to screw things up. 2nd chance? This was season 6. True. I'm just stating that he waited the first season or two before bringing in his own coordinators. This would be the 2nd full shakeup of his entire staff, but you are right he could have done a chance every season.
  7. Nicely stated. Most pro-Bo defenders are pretty quiet today though. Assuming Bo isn't fired tomorrow, they'll wait a couple days for the sting of another embarrassing loss to wear off, and then try to convince us that it's really not that bad, and we have such promise for next year. I'm a Cub fan hear and am used to hearing "let's wait for next year," but not when it comes to Nebraska football.

  9. Wow, you are really into circle jerks....posting it in about every thread possible. It's obvious you like Bo and are ok with another embarrassing loss at home. Others hold a different view.
  10. Mo Husker Fan-I did read what you wrote earlier. Hey, if you're happy with Bo, that's your opinion. You seemed to insinuate that it would be a nightmare to fire Bo before our sub-par bowl game. I see no reason to keep him around if the decision has already been made by the AD to let him go.
  11. And let's not forget that, if we had the same schedule as the last two seasons (playing OSU and Wiscy instead of Illinois and Purdue), it's a six, close to seven loss season.
  12. If rather not participate in your circle jerk. I love that our nightmare, fire your coach, season is 8-4 with a bowl game coming up. Do the losses hurt? Yes. Can we recover from this? I think so. If rather not participate in your circle jerk. I love that our nightmare, fire your coach, season is 8-4 with a bowl game coming up. Do the losses hurt? Yes. Can we recover from this? I think so. Umm...a lot of interim coaches have stepped in to coach a bowl game. You act as though that's never happened before. Seriously, if the AD plans to fire Pelini, what is the benefit of keeping him around for another month?
  13. I agree...I just posed a similar question earlier. I see no reason to keep him around for the bowl game. Let's start the coaching search ASAP because we'll be in competition with many other teams for a top coach.
  14. Hey, we can try to go out and win the armpit bowl and try to end up in the top 35 this year.
  15. Once again we are proving we are lucky to be a top 35 team...probably ending up somewhere between #35 and #40. I'm curious where all the Bo defenders are at today...you could hear a pin drop.
  16. Well, Iowa will take over 2nd in the Legends division, pushing us to third, and possibly 4th if Minnesota pulls out a win this weekend.
  17. LOL. I'm sure that "Supple" will come up with something. Steve Sipple...the Journal Star writer that continue to write pro-Bo stories.
  18. I think if NU loses this game, the big question will be how long before Pelini is let go. If the AD is serious about firing Bo, it makes no sense to wait to announce and keep him around for the bowl game.
  19. I'm not here to advocate for or against Ferentz...he's not our coach. Pelini is, and a decision to retain him or let him go is based upon his coaching ability at Nebraska.
  20. Hmm...I wonder how Sipple is going to spin this one this week. I'm sure he'll find some positive things to say about Bo again.
  21. I agree. A team doesn't have this level of bad luck with injuries. I think it has to do with conditioning and bad technique.
  22. Regardless if NU makes a miraculous comeback, Bo cost this team 10 points with the 15-yard personal foul he got, along with the idiotic fake punt deep in our territory. There is no excuse for that type of coaching.
  23. Bo Pelini is the number one searched topic currently on Yahoo. It's in regards to his comments about not coaching to save his job, but I was just in shock a bit to see Bo Pelini up there (rather than Miley Cyrus or some other person that normally seeks attention).
  24. One could argue the exact opposite. This team this season is marred by injuries on offense, and the defense is one of the youngest in the nation, especially in the front 7. You could easily argue that due to these things, this team is overachieving. I agree that we should be doing better. But if you can't see the progress and the heart of this young group of players, then I can't help you. You could make those arguments, no doubt. But when does the time for excuses come to an end? We have injuries, so does everyone else. We have to play young kids, so does everyone else. Florida State lost 7 or 8 kids just on their defense to the NFL and their defense is better this season than it was last season. They're starting a redshirt freshman with as much game experience as Armstrong had and they're undefeated and he's probably the frontrunner for the Heisman trophy. So the circumstances we find ourselves in are hardly unique. And the continued excuses get more and more strained. They're not excuses - not for me at least. I just get so irritated with people who either take one extreme or the other. It's okay to support Pelini while acknowledging his shortcomings. IMO, his shortcomings are things that he can work to improve/change. I just feel great about the growth and direction of this young defense, and I think that under Bo, they could be a really really special group for a few years to come. Obviously, there are changes that need to be made. The head coach is not one of them. I agree that there are many on here who argue to one extreme or another. I think Bo has many positive qualities, and passion and player loyalty is near the top of the list. With that said, I also agree with many on here that he's had 6 years to turn this into a great program again and win conference championships and major bowls, and we've been completely shut out. It's true that we've had many injuries this year, but so have other teams. If we had the 2011 and 2012 schedule this year, we would be lucky to be 6-5 right now as we likely would have lost to OSU and Wisconsin, and the NW win was an exciting one, yet one we could have easily lost. So given the soft schedule this year, I honestly thought we would and should be 10-1 right now with a chance at a major BCS bowl game. My vote would be to bring in some new coaching blood, but do agree that there is a lot of good young talent on defense now (not so much on offense).
  25. We would more likely lose prospective recruits (which we don't have a great class lined up to date) than current players, but for the current players, its somewhat dependent on who the new coach might be. If it's somebody they feel comfortable with, they'll keep their loyalty to NU. If it's somebody that isn't a hit, then you may see some current players consider other options, but that would require them to sit a year. Playing for Nebraska is about more than just playing for the head coach, and I think most of these players realize that.
