  1. That's patently false. We had a chance. Vegas even had odds on it. But it's not hard to believe that a 100% healthy Martinez could have made a huge difference in our four losses. We easily handled UCLA while they still believed that Martinez was a running threat. Once they figured out he wasn't, it was easy to stop him. There's no reason to believe we wouldn't have had enough offensive success in the 2nd half to win the game had Martinez been 100%. I can make the same case in all four losses. If we were undefeated right now, we would be playing for the NC. Does Pelini hatred blind people so much that they refuse to see this possibility?
  2. We would've played for one this year if Martinez was 100%. But your guano argument is compelling. why did we not play for one last year? Martinez hasn't been 100% since his RS freshman year. Did we play for one then? Look, I find your Pollyanna-like take on this amusing, but it's pretty crazy. I don't think you could find a single national, regional or local sportswriter who shares your opinion. Whoop tee doo. If Martinez would've been healthy, we would be one of two undereated teams right now.

  4. Meaning what exactly? Meaning NU fans can be a fickle bunch and expect the team to win a MNC every damn year. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, Huskers fans can be a bunch of whiny-ass babies if things don't go the way they want them to go. That's simple nonsense. It's a strawman you and the rest of the Bolievers have constructed so that you can try to claim that no matter what he does, Husker fans won't be satisfied. Most Husker fans I know would be happy with steady progress, no blowouts, contending for conference championships every couple of years and for national titles every 5 or so. And those are not unrealistic expectations for a school like Nebraska. That's the funniest thing I've read in awhile.

  6. Of course I think he'll win one. I'd find a different team to root for if I didn't think my team could win it all.
  7. If he goes 13-1 every year without winning a conference title, I would keep him until he keels over from old age. Actually, as much as it grates in the nerves of the Boleavers, I would never fire him if he won at least 9. Actually 8.
  8. And that's exactly the way they want to keep it.
  9. Do you some sort of internal air traffic control for stuff that flies right over your head? "Pressure" is not a reason for or against Oswald making that shot. It's simply a factor. There are different kinds of pressure, and people handle the different kinds of pressure differently. Some pressure makes you shake like a leaf, some gives you laser-like focus. I play pool, sometimes for money. The more money on the line, the more nervous I get. So I rarely play for more than $10. My dad is the opposite. The more money on the line, the more unbeatable he becomes. OTOH, if he's playing on a pool league team and needs a win for the team to win a trophy, he folds like a cheap suit. Now, if I had been in that book depository holding that gun, I would've been shaking too much to load it. But Oswald was a wannabe communist psychopath. He started work at the depository 6 weeks before the assasination and found out a week ahead of time that JFK's motorcade would be driving by. The perfect opportunity to kill a POTUS he hated and go down in infamy just fell in his lap, and he had about a week to mentally prepare. It's easy to see how he might have had laser like focus for the task at hand.
  10. Pressure? You want pressure? I handed my 12 yr old son a bolt action .243 and gave him one shot at a small jar of tannerite from 90 yards and he nailed it. True story. EDIT: Not exactly true. He's 12 now. He made that shot last Xmas when he was 11.
  11. It's more than simple cost/benefit. It's a win-win. The negatroid gets to keep more money and the fans that had to sit by him don't have to listen to him whine any more.
  12. He would have needed a rocket up his ass to catch that pass. So Pelini was definitely in the wrong. He can't expect the refs to do full body cavity searches. As far as the ref knew, it was ass-rocket-enabled catchable.
  13. Bo is the first coach to lose to both Iowa AND Iowa State in Lincoln! Suck that Callahan! (I did no research to support this theory) Bzzzzt. Sorry. AJ Lewandoski did it in '43-'44. Also, TO lost to ISU at home and lost to Iowa in Iowa City one year after beating them 57-0 in Lincoln for the biggest one year turnaround in a head to head matchup in Husker history. A record which he beat in '96 against ASU.
  14. A .22 has a lot more drop to account for at 100 yards than the Carcano that Oswald used. Also, "moving target" is a little misleading. The car was moving less than 10MPH and almost directly away from Oswald, so the relative movement of the target in his sites would've been very minimal. It would've been like shooting ducks on the pond as they swam away from you.
  15. You would've won the bet if he was 100% healthy for the whole season. Unfortunately, he was never 100% healthy from the start of the season. His biggest strength was his acceleration. He could get to full speed quicker than anybody (when healthy). Without that, he was way too easy to defend against.
  16. I clearly said he hasn't been healthy since 2010.
  17. So to prove a "point" your'e going to leave empty seats open to damage the coach........... Isn't that one of those things that defines a "Real Fan"?
  18. I frimly a believe a healthy Tmart would have us at 12-0 right now. Unfortunately, he probably hasn't been healthy since the beginning of his RS freshman year. I don't really think we would be 12-0, but I believe we would be 10-2 at the very worst. I think 12-0 is a pipe dream. 10-2 is more realistic, but probably also too optimistic. The defense earlier this season was a train wreck. And in three prior seasons of play, Martinez led us to 4 losses each time. So the notion that if we'd had him, we'd be undefeated isn;t supported by looking at how the team performed when Martinez actually was healthy. That's a pretty lame and uninformed comment. The Huskers were undefeated when Tmart was healthy. Something like 3-0.
  19. The waitlist is dead, Long live the waitlist.

  21. He's never been a dick to me. He's never even done anything that offended me.
  22. The first shot most likely hit a traffic light crossbar over the street. And the next two shots weren't that lucky (one hit him in the back of the neck and the other in the head). At less than a hundred yards, I could put a .22 in a head-sized target 10 out of 10 times. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home.
  23. FYI, the fine comes out of Bo's pocket.
