  1. RG isn't big enough or mature enough physically to go pro like he was considering, so IMO this was just talk out of an emotional 20year old. Not to mention, all it ever seems to take in these situations is the new coach to come in, stroke the kids ego, promise him the moon and all is well again.
  2. And the other guys that played were a lot better? Not to mention the fact that he was much better in limited action this year. And Martinez can make a lot more things happen by himself than anyone else we have. No, obviously the turnovers are a team wide issue.. But you listed to's as a large contributor to us failing to do as well as we should have and went on to say they would not have been a huge issue with our experienced qb at the helm.. I am not sure that you can say that in that tmart led the nation in turnovers.. Tmart brings more to the table than the backups for sure but at no point would you be comfortable in saying that you trust him completely to not make mistakes that cost a game or 2 either. He was never going to be solidly consistent. But you're still ignoring the fact that it's entirely possible that it would have been better with Martinez than what we ended up with. Martinez had three turnovers in four games. One was a fumble on fourth down when he was short and tried to reach to get the first. Another was late in the Minnesota game that we'd already lost. So two of his three were basically inconsequential. Martinez three two interceptions in four games. The other two threw 10 in eight games. Martinez lost one fumble in four games. Not sure about the other two but it was the same rate if not worse. We might not have been great. But we definitely could have been better. And in three games - UCLA, Michigan St. and Iowa - field position and turnovers played a HUGE role. I will concede that we may have been slightly better. Obviously we will never know and it is neither here nor there. I watched us barely beat Wyoming and knew as I left the stadium it would be a long long season. Hard to imagine lighting the world on fire with the team that played in that game. The Minnesota loss sits squarely on the fact that we did have tmart, although a shell of tmart. Had we started a back up that game I feel we would have won, so flip that game when debating wins and losses due to backups IMO. Add to the fact that I believe some of the younger talent got into games out of sheer Bo desperation, it becomes very cloudy as to where we may have ended up. I may buy into one more win, but I think it's a stretch to say we would have been much further along then that when looking at the struggles we had early season.
  3. I can't imagine why he would want to stay here. Talk about the most awkward place to live and work for him. The problem is, there is no market for Pelini as a HC so he'd take a huge pay cut to move on.. I can think of about 2.5 million reasons he will decide to put up with the awkwardness.

  5. Except that T Mart himself is a walking turnover.
