  1. Born and raised a Husker fan. I knew Pelini wasn't head coach material the day they hired him but hoped for the best. Now we'll get a new staff and I hope everyone gets behind them.
  2. 1. Insolent, sulking, sometimes confrontational and always inadequate face of the program and University. The guy is a constant embarrassment. How Nebraska fans have put up with this for so long is remarkable. 2. A coach that embraces recruiting and competes for top recruits, rather than doing all he can to hamper the enthusiasm of fans following the process. 3. A guy who can actually put together a watchable and interesting interview and coach's show. 4. No more lies about injuries. 5. No more lies about players progress, no baseless and intentionally misleading media stories about certain walkons every spring and fall camp that the sheeple buy hook, line and sinker while the staff giggles like schoolboys behind closed doors. 6. No more lies and secrecy about individual player's progress, off season training stories and performance reports. 7. Basically, a head coach who realizes that this program belongs to the university and the fans, not him personally. 8. No more North stadium shill accounts on message boards, no more North stadium misinformation campaigns. 9. Barney Cotton welfare and entitlement.... OVER. He can take Els & Pap with him for their next big career move, volunteer assistant coaches at some high school. 10. A program, fanbase, University that is united in support of a new staff whose focus getting the team to a championship. Fans who aren't divided amognst those who know the programs deserves better and those who want to shout them down and defend mediocrity. And finally, a coach who doesn't face us and shamelessly tells us that we should be grateful to have him. That's right Bo, we're not going to kiss your ass all the way out the door... don't let it hit you in the ass on your way out.
  3. Mizzou would beat Nebraska like a rented mule.
  4. My take.. clearly, Abdullah was playing injured. I really don't know how you can dismiss that all of his 1st quarter runs were to the right, that he went out injured and was wearing a coat on the sidelines until the #34 fumble. To my eye, he was clearly struggling throughout the 2nd half. He should not have been playing. Bo has a history of playing injured players and a guy as proud as Abdullah is easy to influence.
  5. For purely selfish reasons, I don't care for the Oregon offense. From what I know about Frost, he is a bit of a polarizing persona amongst alumni and former players. That said, I would take him over Bo Pelini tomorrow. NU needs to get out of this sludge pit.
  6. This one, post #32 by Polo is a pretty good way of saying things. Willie also hits it with this response. Every time Bo has asked for something, even under Osborne and the same with Eichorst, he's been told to put together a plan of attack. Unfortunately, to the few people that reviewed his plan, it wasn't very impressive, and this wasn't the first time. Instead of shutting him completely out, Eichorst agreed to additional staff members for 2014 (2015 class) and a reevaluation to see how things are going with a more than real opportunity to add staff in the immediate future. I can't recall if the meetings take place monthly or every other but I do know they'll meet about it all in December for a 2015 (2016 class) decision. I know Kearney is making an impact, haven't heard much about the other guys so hopefully they are as well and Bo has it outlined to how it benefited the program. Without details, we may be stuck in neutral until it's all laid out. On top of the above, it wasn't clear a year plus ago (when the planning took place) if the NCAA was going to allow an unlimited number of recruiting assistants. Like the decision or not, there was also reservation from all involved, including Pelini, about hiring x-number of people than letting them go a short time later or eating their pay for a full year. This played a minor role in the decision but it was a factor. This is what strikes me about anyone that would share what happened but leave out why it happened. As in any case, it's the most important part and regardless if one is pro or anti Pelini, I can't imagine anyone would disagree with that from a business standpoint. At some point, a certain group of people need to step back and realize, Shawn has done more good to support Pelini than he has bad. The most money ever has been spent on recruiting, the most access to private jets in the history of our football program and additional recruiting staff members have been added. Will that continue? I have no reason to believe it won't, pending recruiting staff... Agree. Anyone trying to find fault with SE's support of Pelini is searching for excuses.
  7. Wrong on both counts. The best recruiting tool is a good recruiter.
  8. I hear this "solution " bandied about. I wonder how many top flite coordinators would be willing to work for Bo Pelini? I watch a great deal of football and I just don't see head coaches berating their staff in full public view often. In fact, almost never. No matter why or how you try to dismiss Bo's emotional instability, it is a huge problem. And top flite coordinators are not about to throw in with the rage machine. Not to mention, his image around the country couldn't be worse. Everyone perceives him as a guy on the edge, unlikely to hold his job. No way in hell you are gong to get premium staff to work for this guy.
