  1. If he can survive what he already did the LJS doesn't care about his credibility. He's fine. Good point. I guess we know what the standards at the LJS are...
  2. I just hope a position coach job pays enough to keep Carl in blow.
  3. I don't see how Sipple can remain as a sportswriter in Lincoln after all of this is done. Don't you have to have just a little, tiny bit of credibility?
  4. Honestly, how anyone could have watched Cross and Burkhead play and then conclude that they are similar is beyond me. What are you drinking? Cross runs over inferior teams, gets eaten alive by any team with talent up front. He is not now and never will be feature-back material. I think Taylor had better be pretty good because there is a serious lack of talent at RB that will limit the offense no matter the scheme.
  5. I don't agree at all. Cross is just fine...he's not setting land speed records but he's got just as much speed as Rex did. Sorry but... LMAO.
  6. Cross is entirely too slow to be a feature back. Riley is pretty creative and may find a good spot for him but if he is an every down back, we're in trouble.
  7. Agree. The guy worked his butt off recruiting. He did a good job with a really beat up secondary too IMO.
  8. I don't care who starts as long as we actually see improvement through the season instead of the steady regression that has afflicted NU QB's for the last few years.
  9. There is a reason UNLV hired a high school coach. Their AD is broke and the football program is on the brink. They can't afford anyone else and you can bet the position coach salaries will be the lowest in the FBS. Maybe Carl should apply for a defensive coach job. He could fit in there, who cares if you like blow and chase wives in Vegas?
  10. That's all fine and good if you go out and recruit a position coach or coordinator that is worth top pay.Entirely different matter to just give your assistants top pay because you can. I don't doubt that Riley and Eichorst are doing some shopping for ace recruiter types who are worth that kind of money. Something Pelini never did. He just hired who he liked and they were usually not qualified so I think their level of pay was more than generous.
  11. Bo is a regular guy. Or at least a vindictive, petty, self-serving, paranoid regular guy. Reportedly, Pelini went off about SE and the NU administration. Why is that hard to believe? Why the need for an off-campus meeting? I'll be very surprised if Bo gets a HC job anywhere. And I mean anywhere. The post-firing thing in itself wont hurt him. His behavior while HC will.
  12. There's quite a bit of stink on Bo Pelini. LSU fans don't care for him at all and his SEC prospects are not good IMO. He was a respected position coach in the NFL and I don't doubt he could get that job again. I don't see him getting a head coaching job anywhere. He is embarrassing and a loose cannon. AD's don't really care for that sort of thing. The word is out on what he told the players at their off-campus meeting as well. That won't help. Wherever he goes, whatever he does, I hope we never hear from him again. I have zero respect for him.
  13. The fitness level of OSU is impressive to say the least. Their players look the part, they look a lot like Alabama. Big, fit and strong. I couldn't help but notice the way Bosa threw the Wisky TE's around like little kids. He absolutely abused them. The same TE's who manhandled the NU DE's. OSU is on a different plane from NU and the rest of the conference. Training, talent, all of it. They are at just the beginning of a streak of dominance. Unfortunately.
  14. Nice post. I agree, he should have found each one of them and told all 120 personally. If they were out of town, the announcement could wait until they got back. That would've made it much easier for the players to stomach. Or maybe call a meeting. You know, and asked them to keep it quiet.
  15. Shaw would be an amazing coup for Eichorst. Shaw/Frost would be a grand slam IMO.
  16. Thanks Adam. Great stuff that took some guts to write.
  17. Since you asked... It is incredibly naive to think new assistants would correct or solve any of the problems with the program. Bo was the problem. He ran the defense, his handpicked staff ran the offense. Hiring new coordinators to come work for a hot seat coach who is known to publicly berate and swear at his staff is probably not going to go well either.
  18. I seriously doubt Bo will get a HC job anywhere. The negatives are too large to overlook. He was a good position coach in the NFL and will probably land there again.
  19. Would you feel better about it if Bo had gotten one of the multiple jobs he tried for while he was at NU? Who would you be mad at then? Mediocrity must be a very warm blanket for some people.
  20. Pay me 3 million/year and I will gladly give up the NCAA single game rushing record Hell, I'd do it for half that!
  21. The kid is a warrior. An all-time great Husker IMO.

  23. Charlie Strong has more class in his pinkie finger than Bo has ever had. Ever.
