For us its a game, a passion and a ritual. For NU its a multi million dollar business. MULTI MILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS. One game is not going to influence a decision with that much money at stake. I am sure they have run the numbers i.e. attendance at home/away/ tv viewership, memorabilia sales etc..... well if that is the criteria he will be here till he leaves on his own, hell no decision needs to be made ,play-on boys.

I did put some thought into it. The winning could very well lead to the same misery for another year. The only "coaching change" that would help would be for pelini to go. You people still clinging to pelini are either A - just fine with mediocrity as long as I can go tailgate and network B- Have never played football and there is not a competitive bone in your body C- Are afraid of change or maybe all freakin 3!

Which is why I think you can't fire Bo if he beats Iowa, even if that would be the best move -- it places the next coach in a lousy situation. Emotions fade. Fans are angry right now, but if we lose 5 games next year then 2014 will transform in their memory as "Sure, there was a bad loss, but all 3 losses were to ranked teams and two of them were close." That's hardly unfair to say, even. So that's why I think if we go 8-4 Bo can be fired without much issue, but it'd be really tough at 9-3. If Bo is going to get fired, it's best that he emphatically demonstrates deserving it first, in a way that can stand the test of time. ^This. The blowouts are a result of the fragile mental psyche of our HC trickling down to our players. How many times have we seen Pelini's teams play down to the competition? SDSU and McNeese come to mind. When things go well, and the execution is there a Pelini team can go toe to toe with the best. That is what makes these losses even harder to take. His teams cannot seem to look past the bad call, a momentum change or the ball bouncing the wrong way. Sometimes in life it isn't about the mistakes but how you recover from it. Granted we were severely outplayed for most of the Michigan State game, you're basically saying Bo's tenure hinges on Alonzo Moore's fingertips in the endzone of that game? Obviously the Wisconsin game was a train wreck, but if you're ready to dismiss a 10-2 coach, need to look big picture here. I know people don't want to bring it up, but what coach in their right mind is coming here? You fire a coach after 10 wins? Both losses coming on the road to top 25 teams? With our tradition and resources and facing this cupcake schedule a middle of the road guy could win these and at least coach em up enough to at least be able to COMPETE against teams in the top 25 .Please STOP the embarrassment while we still have a shred of credibility left.Please anyone!
