  1. They're going 5-7...bank on it. Reesing goes down in game 5 of the season....broken leg when he is "accidently" tripped by the yard marker.... Let us have our day, Cy, don't hurt the Todd. Let the sun shine on our ass for a while... LOL. Cy is still mad over the 45-7 beat down we gave ISU last year. I just tune him out. Alot of people are saying 9-3 or 8-4, but I just don't see us losing to either Texas squad, and USF doesn't scare me. Reesing is undefeated in the state of florida. I hope we beat Missouri this year, but it will be tough. If we're healthy then we have a chance, if we're not, then it will be tough. I'll stick by 10-2...heck, I was the only Hawk fan to predict 9-3 last year and I was ridiculed and laughed at on every board. I guess I was wrong...I didn't have them going 12-1. FOr the record, I was 8-4 or 9-3 last year too, but this year I went crazy, 9-3 THEN 8-4. Schedule was easier last year, but 12 wins is pretty good, our schedule was not THAT easy.

Kansas will go down at USF, bank on it. Well, they have a good team. We beat them 2 years ago, when we were 6-6 and they had a few guys go to the NFL, so it is not like they will sneak up on us after that (they played well, despite losing) and their run last year. I think we will be quite aware of their ability, whihc is pretty darned good. GUess we will see how it plays out, as our awareness will obviosly not mean certain victory...

  4. Haters abound. That Ball State you guys scheduled, I mean really, we must remove our rose colored glasses.... Ball State did make a bowl game you know. KU's first 4 games were CMU, SE Louisiana, Toledo, and that juggarnaut Florida International. Only 1 of those 4 played in a bowl. FI had a whopping 1-11 record last year. I believe the point to what he was saying is that your first 4 games were relatively weak with only 1 of your opponents making it to a bowl game. You got a lot of momentum going heading into Big 12 play where you didn't face OU or Texas. NU on the other hand played 4 bowl bound teams at the beginning of the season. Nevada made a bowl, Wake Forest made a bowl and finished in the top 30, USC made a bowl and finished #7 in the BCS, and Ball State made a bowl. Our nonconference was much tougher than KU's. The Wake Forest win was an ugly win that easily could have turned into a loss due to a late 4th qtr. turnover. USC completely stole any momentum whatsoever we had which resulted into a nailbighter with Ball State which we probably should have lost. There was so much hype about the #1 team coming into our house to play, and we fell completely on our face. IMO, our season would have been much better had we not played that USC game. Oh, and I agree, you should have not played USC, that did not help... (hindsight of course)

CMU made a bowl game too, almost beat Big 10's Purdue, yet they are weak? THey are one of the best teams in the MAC, a D-1 conference.... You played a better non conference, but CMU was good, their QB was Awesome and we shut him down...
  6. Wow, no Todd Reesing. Played pretty well to not make 4th team... Wow... Nice to give Joe Mortensen some love as first team Big 12, he was goin play for the big red, until BC became HC and dropped him... Oops...
  7. Well, those 2 games you refer to Resing in were vs. 2 of the top 8 teams in the country, and he was a first time starter and a Sophmore. I would look for improvement in those sorts of games. Also, he was hurt pretty good vs. MU, and less, but still hurt vs VA tech, his speed was way down from normal (which he needs to escape). We probably won't outdo MU this year, almost everyone back and they really good, but that is why they play the games. I think in 2 years it is our time, when we will be at our best. No question Reesing can get better, but he was pretty good for a Sophomore in his first year starting, as he was a redshirt last year who got his shirt yanked and was thrown out there (Beat the Buffs for us)...
  8. You would be lucky to even win 1, 2 would be very lucky. in the late Osborne years, well, 3-0. It is not then now. Maybe will be someday, not this year. Trev is good guy, but maybe a little biased I am afraid...
  9. Haters abound. That Ball State you guys scheduled, I mean really, we must remove our rose colored glasses....
  10. Can't disagree, but watch Dez Briscoe this year, barring injurt, I think he will do something. Joecques Crawford could too. But I think they have to prove it first, and 2nd team would be more realistic. Really, a nice list.... Ihope SParky knowcks off Chase, but Chase earned the QB spot...
  11. I think maybe you're a bit too negative on the Jayhawks. I think the South Florida game could go either way, but I don't think they lose at home to CU. I think the TT game could go either way with the win swaying towards KU as again it is a home game. Right now, I think you have to say they have the edge in the NU game as well even though it's being played in Lincoln. I think they will definitely lose to OU, Texas, and Mizzou. I think they easily could be a 3-5 loss team in 2008, but I would be astonished if they lost 7 games this year. Looks like last year, doesn't matter what we do on the field. If we do well this year, everyone will be "down". Never mind being the only team to Beat A&M on the road, Va tech at a neutral site, CU in Boulder (ask OU, not easy), Oklahoma State on the road, K-State in Manhattan, 7-1 in the Big 12.... Facts Don't Matter, we did lose 2 good Junior players and a great defensive coordinator, but not much is changing. If Reesing is Healthy, I look forward to another years of excuses about another good KU team (Not banking on anywhere near 12 wins, but I see the deulsions are all in the negative direction, and I have a few hater bets out already...) Plus Fine, Henry,Andrew McCallep(however you spell it), and McAnderson. I could be wrong though, Jake Sharp could put up big numbers not splitting carries but I believe that the Big 12 will be the best conference in the country next year. You have to admit that you had an easy schedule last year and had the programs best season ever, but this year's schedule will be harder for your team. Heck, Virginia Tech loses a lot of talent but we have a favorable schedule this year and may ride it into the BCS (like Ohio State did last year). Even though we will probably win the ACC since the last time I checked, Tommy Bowden is still the coach at Clemson, it still dosen't mean that we are one of the elite teams in football, because this years team will not be nearly as good as our teams in the past. Our schedule is tougher this year, that why I am predicitng 9-3 or 8-4. I am not ruling out a great season, though, it is just that this year that is 12-1 is tough to repeat. I think we are legit though, that this 5-7 talk and 6-6 talk is haterism. Only way I see that heppening is if Sparky goes down. With an offense like ours, the QB is VITAL. If the backup cannot keep up his level of play, we drop... I know it is a team sport, but our team relies on the QB to move the ball in our spread...
  12. 5 Major accomplishments for Jayhawk 1) We won. Neato!!! 2) White Lost. Obvious, I suppose, but still an additional goal to make up the 5 I can tick off (Ready to whine about despite being the white teams, you need black shirts????) 3) I was not attributed a major injury. It seemed inevitable, so I will take it 4) I did something productive. 3 tackles for a DT is not bad, I maye frame Cy's post, maybe later at least, eventually. 5) No one has called one of my team's schedule soft after the first win to explain it away. AWESOME. So one question, where are the pancakes? No O-Lineman Stats? Cy, I thought you used to be one, can't we get our one non-negative stat?

  14. I am not sure quite how you can say what you are saying, that NU team got beat pretty good twice. Great offense, Crouch was SWEET, but the Blackshirts were not very good against anyone with talent. KU lost one game, to a good MU team, and won our bowl team against a really good VA tech team. I know you are used to getting respect for the tradition, but I would have loved to see the 2001 team play the 2007 Hawks. OUr defense would have held you more than yours would have held us, but it would have been interesting to watch and Eric Crouch was relaly fun to watch. I think Winning the Orange Bowl and going 12-1 is showing something, but what do I know. A team only plays one season, what they did in the past doesn't get extra credit.... Well Actually it sort of does, if the 2001 Husker team would have been wearing KU unis, no WAY do they get to play for a title. If the 2007 Hawks wore a Red N, they would definitely get to play for the title. They basically had the same situation, lose you last game (KU was closer), otherwise run the table, but NU got to play for it all and we didn't. Still would love to see that game, would be fun, too bad it can't be.
  15. I am curious to know what he had to do. He was first team all big 12 his SO and JR years, Hon Mention his FR year, Orange Bowl MVP, Defensive Freshman of the year, a Unanimous All American, I could go on, but I am not sure what he has to do. Jordy beat him deep, that is true, he is a risk taker and that time it did not work out. Had he played his senior year, he would have won all those awards again, so his resume is pretty good. As for SHUTTING DOWN Jordy completely, he went 9 catches for 125 yeards and a touch on the Huskers. When one considers he did not have a home run catch, he gathered those stats with no plays going more than 21 yards. Way to go guys, that will show him. Dominated.... I will grant you that K-State got Whipped, but you did not shut down Jordy.... That dude was good.
  16. The Jayhawks are in 4 of the 40. Not bad. I'll take it! I wish one wasn't us losing to Mizzou, but those are the breaks, guess we need to not lose next time to avoid these issues.
  17. Falling on a football is p*ssy work. Getting a sack is a man's task. You just sacked him only because your'e "in to" contact with other men. Know what I'm sayin'? yawn.... Now dont bring up the reaction that women think of when your'e around. Keep it about the game. Which are you afraid of more? That I'll put you over my knee or that you might like it? Mind games 101. Thinkin' of spanking a grown man? Guess I was right about that man contact thing huh? That being said on your best day you would'nt be able to come near to achieve your little fantasy. Typical programmed response. It will be fun lining up across from you all game because the red team is so predictable. It is bad enough you make me hungry with your avatar every time I read your posts. Now you hurt our feelings as well. The indignity of it all. deal with this big red little army of rage! Predictable? you are the steak and potato man! THAT is PREDICTABLE (and super tasty)
  18. Ha! So because the Jayhawks played good the last four years, a "series" should be considered the last 4 years? That's hilarious. A "series" between two teams should be dating back to the very first game played to the last game played between the two teams. The KU vs. NU series dates back to 1892. During that time, the record is in NU's favor, by a very large margin: 88-23-3. And that, my friend, was why I strongly disagreed with the individual writing the article when they said, "Kansas owns this series now..." Ummm...no. Well, maybe if you discount about 70 years worth of Nebraska victories against Kansas, then I guess Kansas could "own" this series. Maybe that's what the writer was doing... What a joke! Well, K-state beat us like 15 times in a row and we STILL have a 28 game lead over them, but I would not say that until recently, we retook some form in the series, winnning 3 of the last 4. I think you can have control of the series without being the team that is historically dominant. That said, I would only say that at this time, Kansas has an gained the advantage, if ever so slightly. If we are speaking who is historically the better team, who owns the series in the sense of its entire history, then of course it is not even a conversation. I am just saying your interpretation is not the only one as to what could be meant by who has the advantage in the series. All that said, by no measure are we dominant, so in this we do agree, by a lot. If we whip you guys in Lincoln, even then it would not be dominance, 3 out of 5 is not that, and it is a new coach. Not that I am predicting this, I am just saying nothing that happens this year changes my opinion of the series dramatically.
  19. We beat you the last two times in Lawrence, both times badly. We lost the last 2 times in Lincoln, both times in very close games. Not agreeing with the writer, but if the last 4 years are a guide, we have an edge. THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT, IN PART OR IN FULL, OF THE ARTICLE (thought I needed to have some credibility) In the last 4 years, we are 2-2, but the Jayhawks have outscored Nebraska 156-107.... I thought I would put something in for CY, who is convinced we are not really any good... In the last 5 years, we are 4-1 vs. Iowa State, and have outscored them 153-58... Cy is calling for a Cyclone victory, and that is always possible, but I like our chances. 42 of those points were last year though... and an even series is no where near a kansas owned series... No, you are right, we do not own it. We did beat you guys 40-15 the time before when you came to Lawrence, so BC was getting a new trend started that was not going to be good for is job security (and was not). I was more commenting on the poster who said they had lost once to us in 30 years, how it had been twice, and the two games in Lincoln were close (td or less) and both could have gone either way. My thought is more that we have removed the "aura", as for all of these players memories (4 years), this has been a game KU can win on the road and does win at home. For a LONG time, we had no chance at all. We just did nothave enough talent to even compete. Even our good teams back in the early 90s who finished in the top 10 lost evey time. We almost had you in 93 (not a great team), but we went for 2 so it would not be a tie and ruin yoiur title hopes (Glen Mason was a good sport there, as a tie would have been a huge win for us, but awful for you). The year we went 10-2 and finished in the top 10, back 1995 (a team that Terry Allen let fall apart, despite what Cy says), lost to the Huskers 41 to.... 3.
  20. IMO just another loser Husker hater with wayyyyy too much time on her hands. I think he is a professional sports writer. Pissing us all off is his job
  21. At least these might not get picked to be one of the ten worst in all of college football... I think they are fine, other than they look too much like USC. I must be whacked, as I think the new logo is ok too. I thought the old ones were fine, a little gaudy, but fine. CY, could you explain the bird? I get the Twister part, but why do you have the bird? WHat is the story on that? (Not a taunt, I really do not know why you have a bird with your name and what not)
  22. We beat you the last two times in Lawrence, both times badly. We lost the last 2 times in Lincoln, both times in very close games. Not agreeing with the writer, but if the last 4 years are a guide, we have an edge. 23. I am glad you are on record for an apology when KU outshine your doom and gloom prediction. You will just start all over again about them next year, but until then...
  24. Just a side note, I see the idea of USF beating KU a very very big possibility. I think KU will lose and in the process get knocked down the ladder a few rungs. I agree, I was just kidding on that being the OUTRAGEOUS part, I thought you lot may differ South Florida is good, I think we win that game, but we could definitely lose it...
  25. This thread is really a Husker thread, see question above. Did not want you all to think we had overrun your board. CY has got to like it, this is his sort of red kool aid....
