I was asking him to point out all the unqualified coaches Riley had on his staff compared to Bo, The answer would be none.. He said it was just "guess" that they were more qualified. I called them elite compared to what Bo hired. I really don't see how the point can be argued.

The golf coach was one of the better coaches on the team. Art Bryles and Gus Mahlzan were coaching HS football about 15 years ago. sp what does that have to do with being a good coach? This coaching staff is an upgrade if for no other reason that I am pretty sure Mike Riley will really listen to what his assistants have to say about how something should be done and he may go in that direction. He doesn't what yes men that are only going to do what he wants them to do. Having 3 guys coaching defense that have had coordinator duties is a huge plus. Having an offensive coordinator that is a known QB coach is a huge plus. I am not sold on Cavanaugh at O-line, but he really embraces the tradition and culture of O-line at NU. Our RB coach was coaching Frank Gore last year at San Francisco. Lots of guys can coach, but it really is about fit and letting them coach. There is not one coach on the former staff that can hold a candle to anyone on the new staff. We do agree on something, the golf coach was one of the better coaches on the staff. That is truly embarrassing.

We are not "elite" because of the last 7 years of Bo. He had hit his ceiling and was a jackass to boot. Riley hired an elite staff, he will do fine despite all the teeth knashing about 9 wins. Sipple's pity party is growing stale. He had to write something because his reporting of recruiting improprieties on Stephenson proved false.

There is a new sheriff in town to change that. The name is Riley............................................Mike Riley!

It won't take nearly that long. This season will be enough. Frankly, I will be surprised if 408 ever rises above the coaching level he is currently at. Riley .has been a head coach in college as well as the NFL and in Canada. Even won a couple of Championships. 408---not so much.

If he is N, he may not be on the travel roster. Only if he doesn't make the 63 man travel roster, no other reason. Visiting Miami would have nothing to do with it.

Riley was a better coach yesterday than Bo, Riley is a better coach today than Bo and Riley will be a better coach tomorrow than Bo. Bo has moved to the level of coaching that he belongs at, just like Solich is at the level he is most suited for.

All this teeth gnashing is a waste of time if the kid goes elsewhere, even on Devine"s part. I have had enough of losing and if this kid can help us win then Riley would be negligent if he did not make the effort to get him here. He would still have to compete for playing time.

If we told him he was the only RB we'd take, that's pretty much the definition of disloyalty. I'm not against stocking up but then don't tell guys they'll be the only one. As BigRed said above, we kept our word, signing day has passed long ago, this is a situation that just came up. If Riley had ignored it, most husker fans would not have been to happy about it. Stuff happens, the other runningbacks will have to deal with it. {if we get him signed}
