(L) OSU--bad team (W) MU---at home Brad Smith gone (W) Texas AM---didnt they get bet by OSU and squeaked a win at baylor (W) CU---at home, key losses on d-line and no Klatt but 99% of time a good game (???) with a few good breaks NU could be 9-2, a few bad breaks and NU could be 2-9 if a worm had a shotgun would the birds f*** with him? realisticly I see 7-4 maybe 8-3 GBR

what i read yesterday was that Champs would like to have a NU/FSU rematch but the problem is that htey are like #8 on the pecking order. the huston bowl was talking NU/Ga Tech, and the idependence bowl would like to have NU/Boston College. yes tcu and houston are in the mix but i think that TCU will go to a higher tier bowl because of their record 10-1?

if i remember right Tomich was a last minute addition to the recruiting class after all of the scholarships were given out. He was promised he would get a scolarship if any of the others didnt qualify for some reason and if all did he would get one the next season. which he did for the beginning of his soph. year. i could be wrong but i do believe that was the case. so can you really count him as a true walk on? the makovika's were true walk-ons all the way through to graduation. one if not both were offered scholarships but turned them down b/c dad was a dentist and he paid for thier educational costs. a true husker family, pay your kids way to college even though they started and deserved scholarships but dad wanted the Huskers to give those scholarships to other recruits that needed them more. now that is a donation to the program

Kiffen's son might work but you have to look at the amount of points that USC is giving up they are lucky to have such a potent offense to keep there streak alive. How many sons have turned out to be good coaches? I thought that Skip Holtz was going to get SC's job then they hire Spurrier. The Bowdens are still debatable.

hopefully for matt's sake he will be back. he's a class guy that made some unbelievable catches in the past, and IMO would have been a first round draft pick. was the surgery done by a team doctor or private? if matt cant come back not only did the doctor screw him out of 2 yrs at NU but also millions in the NFL.

Taylor will start and should start. I think Calli is more likely to pull Taylor if things go south early and put Beck in now that the red shirt is gone. Lets hope for a quick start on offense, the defense give a 3 and out on the 1st series, and we have solid tackling and NU could pull an upset. GBR and Bar-b-que Ralphie

Yes Sanders is head and shoulders a better DB coach then Elmo, but he will not come back to NU for the same job. I dont think that Calli is going to cut ties with Coz just yet. I have a feeling that he might require Coz to make some changes. After last year didnt he take away some of Elmo's duties? What exactly is he coaching now. Corners or Safteys? and who is coaching the others?

I think that the WCO can work here at NU in a modified version. NU has to have a solid running game to open up the passing game. I have said on other threads that if we had the same line as last year the running game would have been alot better this year. NU lost 5 people from the 2 deep from last year not including Herian and Incognito. 3 starters and 2 seasoned backups. This year has 2 returning starters and have started 5 other players that either played very little last year or is their 1st year playing at all. I do believe that we have to have a running game to be effective with the pass and we need the running game during those days that the wind blows 20-30 mph and above because for 30 minutes you cannot pass very well against it. my opinion GBR

Well Tennessee should be bashing the Huskers. NU has spanked them the last 2 times we played them and then we go into their backyard and take the Bullocks from them and then we get Mr. Tennessee (Barry Turner) They have to feel like Nebraska fans did when Gale Sayers left the state to play in Kansas.

I dont know if Coz is the right guy for the Big Red, but who would be a good replacement. I know a lot of you will say Bo Pelini, but lets get real....they way pedy, and then Calli treated him, I dont think that he will ever be on the NU sidelines again. Maybe after they are gone. I was thinking that Kevin Steele might be a good fit. I know he didnt do real well at Baylor as a HC, and FSU's defense isnt lighting things up either. But he does have some Husker ties that alot of fans wold like. Who do you think would be the best for NU?

When Steve Octavian broke his leg they said that it was the same as Matt's. I saw Steve on the sideline of the NU/KSU game walking with out a limp and he looked pretty good. His injury must not have been as bad as originally stated or his surgerys have gone better then Matt's. I sure hope he will be able to return to the field because he was destined to play on Sunday's.

i saw him in street clothes on the sideline of the KSU game and he just does not look that big to be a tight end or defensive end. he was standing next to Stu Bradley and Bradley just appeared bigger. what is bradley 6-3 220/230? and if he is bigger then tomerlin i dont think he will be playing much of either of those positions. what is the ht/wt on tomerlin? his stats sound bigger then he looks in person but who knows. maybe it is just me

I was in Kuwait last year and the only game that was on AFN was the NU sCUm game. it started at around 9:30 or 10:00 pm and it didnt get done until close to 2 am. if you get the chance, check with your MWR and see if it will be shown. our situation was alot different then yours in iraq so i hope you get the opportunity to watch the Huskers win and maybe send you some Buffalo Jerky God Bless You, your Unit, and your family for supporting you. i never knew that if you redshirted and went to the 5th year you had to pay for the tuition? if that is true i feel bad for the student athletes that come in from out of state because the out of state tuition at NU is about 3X that of the instate tuition

huskrz65 how can you say that KSU didnt pad there schedule? who were their non-confrence foes? didnt they have 2 1-AA teams? i dont know, i dont really follow them. but when snyder took over KSU started playing weak non-cons and have been for years. yes NU plays them also. but Maine did beat SO Miss, Pitt was ranked in the top 25 and went to a BCS bowl last year. yes they were down this year but you cant predict from one year to the next. if you look at the games that have been less then 4 sacks per game and the defensive scheme that coz put out there then you will notice that NU played alot more 3 man front and got away from the base defense and the QB's had carrier days. it is hard to get a sack when you have a mobile QB and only has 3 people rushing. agree to disagree??? i see improvement even if others think it is not there

my understanding is that tomerlin was recruited as a tight end but wanted to play defensive end. when he got here he was not big enough and then got hurt and has been switched back to tight end. he is or has redshirted. i could be wrong and i have been before.
