Is this supposed to be proof? A preseason poll that comes out only hours after the national championship? This proves we are falling into the abyss????? Not proof, just further evidence that nationally relevant football experts don't think too highly of us.

I don't think he'll be the starter at the beginning of the season, but I think he will be by the end.

And this is why the SEC is perceived as the best No, that has nothing to do with it. Like it or not, illegal recruiting tactics or not, the SEC has the best players and the best teams.

That's a bunch of bunk. LSU over signs every year and then they find ways to "weed out" the guys who don't pan out. Had a guy (Diarse) just switched to TCU last week. There's so much talent constantly coming in that guys quickly realize if they're going to eventually rise to the top or not, and those who don't choose to transfer. In addition every year they have guys dismissed for minor transgressions (strangely, they're all guys who never saw the field) while others (such as Tyrann Mathieu) were given multiple chances.

All I'm gonna say is that I know a current commit for an SEC school who was given 2 brand new cars, a Camaro and a Challenger, one in his mother's name and one in his brother's name. Bottom line is when these recruiters come around down here and they see one school giving gifts and getting away with it, they all resort to the same tactics. There's much more I could tell but I'm biting my tongue.

I can summarize everything up about the current recruiting class in 3 words: we're in trouble.

Not sure why you want to focus primarily on the SEC West... that's the equivalent of me focusing only on the B1G West. Say what you want, but 7 of the past 9 years the national championship has been won by an SEC school (and no, it hasn't just been Bama, either... 4 different SEC schools have won during that span). Bama will likely make it 8 of 10 this year. But you're right, it's not impressive; it's all just a big conspiracy.

Well, I'm sure there have been numerous similar circumstances over the years, and yet this year's SEC is the one with the record. 8 wins in a bowl season is impressive no matter how you look at it, in my opinion. It's not like they were playing garbage teams.

Everything will be all well and good until Oregon lays the smack down on us at home on September 17... losses in Evanston, Madison, and Columbus will follow... and we'll be pretty much stuck with the same sick feeling in our stomachs that we had for the majority of this season.

I don't think it matters. There's the top echelon of college football, and then there's everyone else. We're nowhere near the top echelon right now.
