I really want to believe that we can beat Iowa but this team has left me with very little hope that they can rise to the occasion when it matters most. There are still several players on this team that play uninspired football and could care less if they win or lose. Of course, there is nothing I want more than us beating Iowa and going bowling but every time I have high hopes, I get crushed. So, I am assuming that this game is the Huskers bowl game win or lose.

I spent a week there one day...at least it felt like it

If we play an error free game like we did against Maryland and Frost is open to the idea of sitting down Martinez if he struggles and puts in McCaffrey or Vedral, I like our chances. If Frost sticks to Martinez even though he struggles and our defense forgets how to tackle, we lose this game. Iowa is not a juggernaut offense by any means. They have beaten several teams by field goals. If we score 30 points, we win. If our offense struggles, their defense can win the game for them. Also remember that there defense is among the top in the Big in terms of takeaways. I love my Huskers and a bowl game and all the preparations are crucial for the development of this team before next year. GO BIG RED!

I learned that (1) there is another team in our conference that can make the stupid mistakes we are capable of making (2) when you don’t beat yourself, good things can happen (3) McCaffrey makes much better decisions than Martinez and plays with more passion and grit (4) we continue to struggle in the red zone. We waste many opportunities to score touchdowns (5) Jurgens still snaps the ball high sometimes. Hope he learns how to snap the ball by next year (6) Waldoch is a better kicker than Pickering (7) we should not return punts or kicks until we have better special teams. (8) Khalil Davis is really athletic for his size (9) spielman and domann are studs I really hope the team rides this game and the confidence they built into the Iowa game this Friday. We need an error free game this Friday if we are to pull the upset and go bowling. Let us hope wandale is healthy by then as we need every weapon we can get our hands on. At least now, we have some hope...

This is a GREAT example of what we can do when we don’t beat ourselves by committing penalties and our defense comes to play ball. We would not have to worry about Iowa had we played like today in our losses.

This has been our best game in the last five years. Only one penalty and our defense is on fire...I am shocked.

Khalil Davis is pouncing like an angry lion tracking a gazelle. I am really impressed with him today.

Martinez looks like a deer in headlights when he gets to the red zone. He has been ineffective all season in the red zone. I suggest that mcaffrey comes in the red zone.

2% at best...Iowa are not going to beat themselves and they are not going to give us an inch without earning it. Martinez can’t beat Iowa if he plays like he did the past games.
