If our defense plays like they did this past Saturday and our offense actually shows up to play like they did the last half of last season, we win 35-33. I am curious to know what you saw in Saturday’s game that makes you think we are capable of beating Colorado in Boulder by that much...I don’t doubt we can win but it will a very close game and we need our offense to actually play.

I respectfully disagree. Two of south Alabama’s scores came after mistakes by the special teams. The first score was the result of a bad kick that gave S Alabama a shot field and the second score was after Spielman muffed it. So. The special teams were not impressive. As for the big ten teams, Northwestern played a ranked Stanford game very close. Purdue’s QB had 423 yards alone in their last minute loss. But if you read my post carefully, the teams I mentioned are the ones that we fail to compete against. Wisconsin was extremely impressive and Ohio state did very well with a new coach. Michigan state held their opponent to -75 yards rushing. Even Illinois beat Akron by 39 points. We had a total of 274 yards in total offense. I am am happy we won and very glad that our defense stepped up but let us not sugarcoat this. It was not a good game and the offense is a big concern going into next week’s game against Colorado in Colorado.

I learned the following: (1) We still do not have good special teams. Other than the individual effort of a very special athlete, i.e. Spielman, the special teams were as unspecial as they have been over the last six years at least. (2) We still make unnecessary stupid penalties at key moments on the game that swing the momentum to the opponent. (3) Our offense was horrendous today, and that is sugar coating it. Frost was extremely nice to keep Adrian Martinez in the game. He should have tried someone else and may be that would have awaken the REAL Adrian Martinez. What we saw today was Adrian Martinez sleepwalking. (4) Our defense played very good, especially in the second half and they were for sure the reason we won the game. However, we still have up 315 yards to a 3-9 team last year. (5) Our center needs to stop snapping the ball 10 feet high. I understand doing it once in a while but he did that all game long. (6) We were for sure the least impressive team of the big ten this weekend. If we want to compete with the likes of Ohio state, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan, and Iowa, we need to take it up a few notches. (7) It was a disappointing performance after all the hype.

Having close to 100 pages is really ridiculous. Why can’t we just go back to last years format? This new format makes no sense at all.

Ouch...with these numbers, no way we stay ranked this week and deservingly so.

Martinez’s owes his defense a round of drinks and plenty of hugs and thanks because he sucked big time and his defense won the game for him. Heisman contender? Very hard to justify....if we stay ranked, I will be so happy.

South Alabama took it to us today. They have my respect...they stuffed us and owned Martinez big time.

Adrian Martinez and the entire offense played horribly today. Adrian Martinez looks like he has never played football in his entire life. This level of sucking is disappointing after one full year of playing football.

Well that sucks the big one....we lost a chance to expand the lead and south Alabama will have the ball coming out...Frost needs to make some MAJOR adjustments. Adrian needs to start making the right decisions. This is not his first year.

Enough is enough, the center needs to stop snapping the ball high...come on man..
