  1. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/79572-s-brian-williams/ notre dame please
  2. Isn't that what I just said? we posted at the same time man.
  3. The Cincinnati deal was struck when we scheduled the basketball H/H with them. They're traditionally a better team than half the P5 schools that are out there. More and more schools are starting to go on the road to G5's, especially the competitive G5's. FSU is going to Boise State for goodness sake. Oklahoma is gonna play at Tulane, Temple, and recently played @ Tulsa. We can do a lot worse than a road game in Ohio against a good, competitive team.
  4. or he expects the departures to be seniors which wouldnt change the total number of available scholarships for the 2018 class
  5. is it too late to nab one of these types? Would think almost anyone would be a solid addition at this point since we have a real shortage at wide out of scholarship athletes.
  6. Colorado is 18-19-24. Cincinnati is 20-23-25 Cincinnati is 2020 and 2025. Home and Home. In Lincoln 2020 in Cincinnati 2025.
  7. would love to add him back to the fold. He's legit and we really need WR's
  8. So with Simmons and Johnson leaving we have 17 scholarships available to sign 20 right? I know KJJ says he will be back in January but I think you cross that bridge when you get to it- you can't bank on him being back IMO. With the way we are recruiting this class getting to 20 would be smart.
  9. Benning said this was evident about 4 practices into spring. Also said there should be 2 more leaving as well.
  10. this weekend just keeps getting better and better. Helps how close he is with Bookie
  11. we'll still actively pursue all 3 as the odds we sign any of them aren't that great and they are all elite talents at a position we need bodies.
  12. In my opinion, Riley has done an excellent job at replacing staff members when it is obvious they are not holding their weight in one of the two major areas, coaching or recruiting. The biggest point of contention I have with Mike (and really the only one) is that he brought a majority of this OSU staff over with him, and these are all the guys he's having to let go and replace now. Only Bray seems to have proved his worth coaching and recruiting (LB recruiting has been great, capped by Roberts last year, and the development from the unit as a whole has been wonderful to see. The depth we have at LB now is staggering compared to what it was 2 years ago). Cav and Davis are the two weak links on this staff by far in terms of both recruiting and getting production from their units. The running back recruiting has seemed disorganized and in flux since Davis first got here. My issue with Cav isn't that he hasn't landed prospects, it's that for as much momentum as we seem to have in recruiting QB's, DB's, DL, and WR's, we have almost no traction with getting our foot in the door for the same quality of prospects on the OL. Again this is just my opinion, but I feel like replacing Cav with an OL coach that has ties within the 500 mile radius would be very beneficial going forwards. We need to increase our presence in the Midwest and we've seemed to struggle to do so, and the Midwest is a great place to target and sign offensive linemen from. Look at our current 2 deep for proof: Farniok: South Dakota Foster: Nebraska Raridon: Iowa Decker: Nebraska Conrad: Nebraska Farmer: Illinois Wilson: Missouri Gaylord: Kansas then you even add in the other guys that are RS candidates or still developing: Barnett: Oklahoma Bando: Nebraska Brokop: Illinois Walker: Nebraska It just makes sense from a logistical standpoint to have our OL coach be familiar with the Midwest/500 mile radius. Plus Nebraska needs to have someone on the trail in my opinion that has inroads in places like Saint Louis, KC, Iowa, etc. Wilhite is really the only one on staff that has major connections in the area and he can't even go on the road to recruit there. While I don't have a list of names of potential replacements for coach Cav, I think its going to be critical for us going forward to hire someone that can land top shelf OL talent and develop them when they're on campus if we really want to take the next steps in competing with the top tier teams in this league on a year in and year out basis. Edit: this is a good place to start. Currently makes $300k. http://247sports.com/Coach/Matt-Luke-465

  14. personally I think him in the NBA is an uphill battle but I hope he can somehow find his way onto at least a D League team: http://www.ketv.com/article/making-the-case-for-drafting-tai-webster/10040063 Skill in pick-and-roll sets For as long as basketball has invaded our homes, the pick-and-roll has come with it. Anyone with a rudimentary interest in the NBA can recognize the merits of the offensive staple, which, during the 2016-17 regular season, was ran 46,155 times by ball handlers, an average of 1,538.5 times per team. Webster was particularly proficient at it. He scored six points per contest and 186 total points as a ball handler his senior season, according to data provided by Synergy Sports. Those totals ranked 24th and 27th, respectively. Limit your search field to major-conference Division 1 players and he ranked fifth and sixth. In a league saturated with point guards unlike any time before it, Webster, a 6-foot-4 combo guard, will enter the professional ranks with the playmaking ability to run the supersized two-man game. Only two players in the Big Ten Conference scored more total points in those situations; in fact, Webster scored more than the entire rosters of Purdue (137), Michigan State (159), Ohio State (176), Indiana (178) and 98 other Division 1 squads.
  15. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/recruiting/mckewon-precious-memories-provide-motivation-to-husker-pledge-joshua-moore/article_3b9880d7-213e-5e78-b223-3150c41e9fd3.html It may not be over for Jordan, either. Quintin expects both sons to be at Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights camp and the following Big Red Weekend. Jordan is committed to nearby Texas A&M and likes the program a lot, Quintin said. But these are, after all, twins. Quintin has two pairs of them, so he’s a bit of an expert on how they interact. For the few months Joshua was training and going to school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, he and Jordan talked constantly. They connected through video games, particularly.
  16. Hopefully our next home and home is a permanent OOC series with OU that'll be a conference game come 2024
  17. Worth noting here- went to the same high school as Mohamed Barry and the two are fairly close despite the age difference. Can't link because I'm at work but there's some pics of the two of them together when Barry signed for UNL. Barry is playing a big role in his recruitment here so far. It's really nice to see the amount of kids that seem to be genuinely enjoying their experience in Lincoln so much that they are telling other people "this is a city you want to play in and a coaching staff you want to play for". Very excited to see what comes of this visit this weekend.
  18. Bookie and Moore need to be in his ear from the second he touches down in NE. Definitely an Ohio State lean as of now but that doesn't mean things can't change with a great visit. We've seen guys come to Lincoln before that didn't even have us in their "top x" lists and after they leave they wind up committing to the Huskers. With this staff, I'll believe that we're in it with any recruit that comes to campus until they commit somewhere else. Remember, this staff flipped Tyjon from Ohio State last year. Not saying that it's something that is likely to happen every cycle but I believe we're actually in it here more than a lot of people may think.
  19. i read through the above link but I must've just missed it, what is he being charged with?
  20. Tutt is no consolation prize. This kid can ball. A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush and if this kid wants N you take him and don't look back.
