  1. I knew they were making a Han Solo movie and then completely forgot about it. Just found a chart with character ages. Han Solo was 29 in A New Hope. Luke was 19. So Han would have been 10 during Revenge of the Sith. I imagine a movie about him would take place when he's 20 (so that it's totally okay to have a different actor) which would be halfway between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. I completely mistyped that...I totally meant sandwich a young Han Solo movie in between Revenge of the Jedi and Rogue One. I have no idea why I said Phantom Menace.
  2. s it stands now, if one wanted to see all the Star Wars films, one after the other, in the correct timeline: The Phantom Menace The Clone Wars Revenge of the Sith Rogue One Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi The Force Awakens Coming Star Wars movies: * Young Han Solo * The Force Awakens, Part 2 * The Force Awakens, Part 3 * As of yet untitled movies with TBD release dates. I would expect a stand alone Han Solo movie to fit chronologically either about the time of Phantom Menace or Rogue One. Perhaps sandwich a Han Solo movie in between the Phantom Menace and Rogue One so it could be episode 3.25....LOL
  3. Um. No it hasn't. Rogue One has everything to do with the core story. They will have to make a story that takes place 1,000 years before or after the main story before they can prove this. Who in the world from CNN wrote that line about this new Star Wars movie, a Star Trek fan? LOL. (I'm kidding I know there are fans if both.) But seriously. Moraine is correct in pointing out the flaw in that article. Rogue One is absolutely essential to the core story of Star Wars (episodes 4-6).
  4. I think that since Leia wasn't there, she didn't know that Vader knew, and so she thought a lie and denial would be sufficient. Plus, she probably thought her standing in the Senate would provide her some "immunity," Not sure if that's the right word or not. And on a personal note, while I enjoyed the scenes with Darth Vader, I was a little disappointed at how little screen time he actually had. So I think, and just opinion here, that there wasn't any discontinuity. What do you mean Leia wasn't there? She was on the blockade runner that just got away from the ship Vader boarded. No I meant she wasn't there when the actual hand-off was made as those rebel were dying. Vader saw it and knew. Leia had plausible deniability. I mean, of course she knew, that was the reason she was there. All in all, I really enjoyed this film, despite the plot holes.
  5. Rogue One takes place in between Revenge of the Sith (episode 3) and A New Hope (episode 4). So, technically, Rogue One is Episode 3.5
  6. Funny. But one thing we can make up is that with new technology/discovery they've found a super powerful super cheap energy source, so the main expenses would be feeding and paying the people who have to live on the death star. True. According to canon, Khyber (I think I spelled it right) Crystals seem to produce that energy all on their own so perhaps there's no need to "pay" for energy? Then, if we consider that most of people who do the day to day yeoman's work for the Galactic Empire are probably either conscripts or slaves, that would reduce the operating costs even more.
  7. Possibly. But then, if it has its own gravitational pull, and it is strong enough to keep things in place when it rotates, then... Wouldn't it be pretty much impossible to walk around because the gravity would be so high? Also, wouldn't everyone be upside down and "standing on the "ceiling" when it rotated? You know what, I'm going to stop thinking about this, just suspend my disbelief, and enjoy the film. PS I am going to see it again today.
  8. One part of Rogue One that had me going, "Say what???" Was when the Death Star's firing opening (LOL I don't know what else to call it) , was south of the equator. Every time we've seen the Death Star, the firing opening was north of its equator. I was thinking, how did it get down there? Then they showed the Death Star rotating. Then I thought, that doesn't make sense either because if it needs to rotate then everything will be upside down. I mean, am I missing something here? It would have made so much more sense to have the Death Star's laser be on a track where it could rotate 180 degrees and be able to fire from any angle. But, this is what you get when you make a prequel to a movie nearly 40 years afterward. Because clearly the makers of this film had to stick with canon, which meant the original Lucas design of the Death Star from the original film.

  10. The Rogue One squad accomplished their mission. Then, there's that awful moment, when you realize the entire Rogue One team died.
  11. I used to be a Boliever. However, it became clear to me that Bo actually WANTED to get fired from Nebraska. His antics, from his over the top sideline blowouts, to publically insulting his boss, were signs that he'd had enough. Bo is thin-skinned individual who can't take any criticism, no matter how justified it is, without lashing out like a spoiled child. He created a culture at NU where he turned the players against the fans. He railed at the media. He was an extremely lazy recruiter. He thought that the pressure he faced at Nebraska was the worst ever. Obviously he's an idiot because if he thinks Nebraska fans are bad, then he should try and be the head coach at Ohio State, USC, Alabama, etc. Yes Nebraska fans can be demanding, but I would think we're no different from any other passionate fan base who just wants our team to play well and win. I can't believe there are still people defending that neck vein popping, rage spitting, psycho.
  12. Agree Although, one thing about Arkham Origins I really did enjoy; was once you beat Deathstroke, you got his weapon. One of my favorite things to do would be to use Deathstroke's grapple launcher and string people up from gargoyles and other objects. The "screams" they let out were hilarious. Conversely, though I love Arkham Knight, one of my favorite things to do is be in the Batmobile driving around in battle mode and shocking the bad guys. Hearing them make that "shocked/electrocuted" sound as they fly backwards or off to the side, just makes me giggle every time.
  13. And, to have a bit of fun, if anyone ever wondered how much it would cost per day to operate a Death Star, someone has done some calculations...LMAO http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/technology/the-death-star-would-cost-dollar78-octillion-a-day-to-run/ar-AAl66OM?li=BBmkt5R
  14. I have heard (although never done it myself) that if you've over-salted something, add potatoes or cooked rice to it. The potatoes or rice usually will absorb quite a bit of the salt. Not sure how practical that is given you're dealing with venison. I think potatoes would work best because I know when I make mashed potatoes, I salt them pretty liberally. So I think potatoes would work for you really well because they can absorb a LOT of salt.
  15. The original version was actually rejected by Disney for being too dark so this was actually a toned down version after Disney ordered another round of shooting/filming. I would love to see that version actually. By Star Wars standards this was still dark however. I enjoyed all of the characters also. No Jar Jar's or overplayed characters like the Ewoks in this one. I want to talk about this movie so badly...lol. But I won't because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who is going to see it within the next couple of days. I knew about the reshoots, although I wasn't sure the exact reason why. And if this movie was reshot to "tone it done" then yes, I too would love to see the original cut of the film. I really enjoyed the reprogrammed imperial droid. Was like a smart a** version of C3PO. MOD EDIT: THREAD WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!
  16. @mwj98...for those of us who aren't watching, could you fill us in by telling us what's going on?
  17. The people who bag on Lawrence for his issues have no idea what it's like to grow up living in fear every single day. I do. So do my siblings. To this day I would call 6 of my 7 siblings broken people. Only two of us have managed to overcome what we went through as children. And that's all I have to say about that. I feel this ^^^^ to the core of my being.
  18. I don't know what to expect out of this team. Tommy won't play, Westerkamp is out, Gerry is out, as far as I know, we're still banged up along the OL. It won't change my opinion of Mike Riley and this staff if we get blown out. We seem to have everything lining up against us. What I will say though is, I want to see just how much fight this team has left.
  19. Star Wars: Rogue One, go see it.

  20. I just saw Rogue One, and it is amazing. It's not as dark a film as anticipated, but it's not light either. This film actually put the War in Star Wars.
  21. So ... you don't want school vouchers then? Vouchers are fine, as long as they are not for attending any religious based schools.
  22. When net neutrality does end, it then becomes incumbent on individual states to enact their own state laws governing the web and keeping it neutral. What needs to happen, is for Congress to pass a national net neutral law. But, given how Republicans are now the majority in both the House and Senate, there is almost zero chance of that happening. Buckle up people, we are in for a severe Republican led, pseudo, free market pooh fest the next 4 years.
  23. With FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler stepping down, expect Net Neutrality to end also. With Trump coming in, I expect he will appoint an FCC Chairman who will end net neutrality. More to the point, I expect Trump to appoint someone who will re-shape the rules to financially reward himself and his cronies. There's a word for forcing subscribers into slow lanes unless they pay more: EXTORTION. The end of net neutrality paves the way for legalized extortion when surfing or making purchases on the web. Because once internet providers don't have to abide by net neutral rules, they can charge companies and consumers what ever they want...it becomes a bidding war.
