  1. It sounds like Ober was really worth the schollie, he is a professional at what he does, down to the rotations on the ball back to the holder.
  2. I am pretty much in agreement with this, I think they might get 17 but a score in the 50's for Nebraska is not out of the question
  3. I would hope we can redshirt Boe and keep that class off the field this fall. They are going to be the anchor to a pretty fantastic offense in years to come.
  4. Why can't we respect who the players selected. They are the ones at summer workouts and practice, they know who is a leader and who may be just a cut below the level of those selected. Riley will pick one extra captain each week, likely the first one will be Armstrong.
  5. So Brandon Reilly should be in prison right now? Don't preach to me or any one else. Maybe he should be. But hey, if you want to be an a-hole, maybe you'll get hit by a drunk driver some day and laugh it off as him just having a good time, huh? I am not an a-hole for expressing a reasonable opinion.

  7. Well I think the death penalty should apply for first time offenders, that way there is no chance to offend again. See how easily the problem could be fixed.
  8. Our coaches are recruiting some studs. Found this on another board with week 1 stats from some of our recruits. McQuitty 2 TDs in a blowout win. Porcher IV 6 tackles 2 sacks (8A ball in Florida). Gebbia 24/32 350 yards 4 TDs 1 INT in 3 quarters. KJJ 1 TD. Guy Thomas 2 fumble recoveries. His team (Booker T. Washington) beat the #1 team in the country St. Thomas Aquinas.
  9. Bo offered this kid, but he settled on Dillman who is now playing defense somewhere.
  10. Chason Virgil will be Fresno State’s starting quarterback – the redshirt freshman earning the call in the Sept. 3 opener at Nebraska not just by maintaining a lead he had on the competition at the start of fall camp but by extending it. We get to warm the defense up on a freshman! BlackShirts are gonna feast.
  11. lets have a looksy...... http://www.hudl.com/team/v2/12987/san-joaquin-delta-college-mens-varsity-football Sometimes 5 wide
  12. I just spoke with Detroit, Michigan three-star defensive back Jaylen Kelly-Powell and he confirmed that he will be officially visiting Nebraska for the Fresno State game. His mom and dad will be coming with him on his official to Lincoln. From another board It is his only scheduled visit so far, his parents want to see Lincoln on gameday
  13. Nobody really gives a damn if we are winning! Thats really the bottom line
  14. The future of the team is clearly throwing the football well. We have been bringing in great receiver's for sometime now. We are also recruiting some damn good running backs. I don't see that as a pass heavy attack or the system Riley likes. He has a track record of running the ball as much as throwing it. I think your tea leaves are a bit crumbled. My tea leaves see Nebraska as a 55/45 running team. Cav is clearly molding our linemen and the recruits he wants for a strong running game. The target is 50/50. As is with any coach. That's ideal, esp if you have consistent talent accross the board to do either. But what changes is matchups, personnell, situations, and so on, from week to week, season to season.. So this ratio can vary. Like you said, you see it as probably being 55-45 run. but in one week it could be like a 75-25 pass, then back to a 60-40 run the next week. It's an ever changing number. Lot of times i just dont think that "run the damn ball" guy gets that. And as of right now, Nebraska certainly isnt in a position to just impose their will and do what we do. I don't disagree, I was talking over the season average.

  16. you should be in prision my bad since finished reading your post. Watched a local family killed by a 21 year old drunk driver makes me irrational. I read a stat somewhere that like 20% of every driver you meet after midnight is drunk. Congrats on not doing it anymore So you are saying 20% of all drivers should be on prison? Life's lesson is that sometimes you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and bad things happen to good people. I have had friends killed as well. Not something you want to happen but it does and always will to some extent. But my point really is that I was lucky and Keith was not. It does not make him a bad person nor me a good person. Everyone continues on with their life situation as it is dealt to them. Perhaps it was the pedestrians and other drivers out at those times who were lucky... You, or Keith, or anyone else who willingly/knowingly drives distracted (from drinking, texting, etc.) may not be a bad person in general, but you/they are being a bad person at the time you willingly/knowingly engage in behavior that leads to putting other people's lives at risk. Its true that everyone is lucky at one time or another. This is not a world of rainbows and puppydogs. This is reality and if you want to live in a would with very few drunk drivers then you need to move to the middle east. People do wrong things all the time. That is the real world in the USA and we all live or die with knowing that.
  17. What really happened here is that Brandon Reilly set a bad example for his coach, so it is really his fault. KW saw that their was no punishment publicly announced for Brandon and he thought it would be ok for him to do. I think BR just set his coach up to fail by setting a very poor example. Now they are both in trouble!

  19. I dont see where the rush is. He was given a timeline and it is clear to all. There is no reason he can't work on the drinking problem as well as coach his guys. People go to AA and do their jobs all the time. It not like he got 2 DUI's in 6 months, it was 8 years apart. When I was younger, there were times I could have had a DUI 6-8 weekends in a row. Not proud of it now and have since quit drinking by choice and never had a DUI in my entire life. None of that changed my life now. This is not that big a deal IMO. Anything he could teach them in 6 months he can teach them now
  20. Really?? And what will more time bring? It might make some people like you feel better but otherwise will serve no purpose. The University doled out its punishment, you can agree with it or not but it is done. A non story until the court doles its punishment out on Oct. 24. Unless he gets prison time, it is a non story on Oct.25.
  21. Winning sustains it. Riley will prove that in the next few years.
