  1. You could be right, maybe it was only one over 8 years. Its safe to say that Riley really has recruiting on the up tick over what we were used to.
  2. Don't care anymore. he is dead to me.
  3. It was a bunch of kids getting caught for marijuana, if you think that doesn't happen at UNL you're delusional. Don't mean that in any form of attacking manner. Randy Gregory...............
  4. From the OWH LINCOLN — Nebraska is proof that the men’s basketball recruiting process never stops, having hosted a prospect just ahead of Monday’s first day of the 2016-17 school year. Georgetown forward Paul White was in Lincoln Saturday and Sunday, sources close to the situation said Sunday. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound rising junior is expected to visit Oregon the next two days. White, from Chicago, played at powerhouse Whitney Young High. One of his teammates was Jahlil Okafor, who went to Duke one year and then the Philadelphia 76ers. White played in all 33 games as a freshman, averaging 5.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 18 minutes a game.
  5. For perspective; Bo had 3 - 5* players visit in 8 years. Riley will likely have at least 7 visit this year alone. When you put in the work, they will come.
  6. Ohio St. made the decision easy for him.
  7. From another board.. Going off the current 247 Composite rankings we have had the following 5 stars visit or plan to visit under Riley: 2017 #4 Foster Sarell (Fresno game) #10 Darnay Holmes (multiple times, Fresno game again) #13 Joseph Lewis (multiple times, Oregon game) #24 Tyjon Lindsey (multiple times, not sure if he's visiting again after committing to Ohio St.) #29 Robert Beal (South Alabama game last year) Tyler Shelvin is #34 and 2 spots away from being a 5 star on the 247 Composite. Said he will take official to NU, LSU, and Bama. Thomas Graham is #48. Said he wants to take an official to NU with Keyshawn Jr. Austin Jackson is another 5 star and #26 overall and this was his quote on 7/15/16 "I'm still working that out, but I will for sure take officials to Nebraska, ASU and USC. If all of those players visit 7 of the top 34 players in the 2017 Class will have visited NU. 7 of the top 34 ______________________________________________________________________________________ To quote a former coach " Its hard to recruit to Nebraska" Quote from me "only if you are a lazy SOB" put in the work and they will come!
  8. We still have to earn our spot. Win and we are in.
  9. Yep. Corey Whitaker out until 9/3 or so due to a scope. Jalin Barnett out with a sprained ankle. Don't know how bad it is. Bo Wilson true freshman in the starting lineup. Looks like Wilson could be something special for us in the future, but having a true freshman in the lineup is disconcerting. Its a good thing Cav brought in a top notch O-line class last year. The black shirts are looking to maybe be a strength of this years team, I can't wait until the first few games to confirm that hope.
  10. He is entitled to his opinion (wrong as it may be) A couple of years ago he praised NU for not punishing Bo for his taped tirade against the fans and media of Nebraska. He wanted to produce clicks on both by taking the provocitive side of the issue.
  11. he is currently visiting Nebraska.
  12. I think that what is needed here is an example of someone manning up, admitting his wrongdoing with no excuses whatsoever, taking his punishment without complaint, and then making the most of this chance and the rest of his life. What is really missing these days is someone admitting they did wrong without trying to weasel out of it. It's never anybody's fault for anything, and that is what younger people overwhelmingly see from so many people saying "yeah, but..." If Williams isn't ready to change, he'll blow this chance as well. So he isn't really "getting away" with anything, he would just be postponing the inevitable. If Williams rights himself and "gets his mind right", then everybody wins. Agree 100%. He did this and only he can work himself out of this jam. I wish he were suspended far longer without pay- like six games. Heck, let him coach with no pay until October. Only then would we see KW's true remorse. No joke, there may be a law against something like that - having an employee work for no pay as a punishment. Though I'm sure he could volunteer to put his paychecks toward a charity. That said, I'm not sure he should miss house payments or put his family out for this type of offense, as lacking in judgment as it was. Complex issue, imo. Slavery????? Lets go all racial, that would be a nice turn for this thread.
  13. Especially when the same writer cheered the University for no penalty against Bo for his profanity laced tirade against the press and the fans. It was wrttten for clicks and not substance.http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fblog%2Fbigten%2Fpost%2F_%2Fid%2F84300%2Fno-discipline-for-bo-pelini-the-right-call&h=yAQED7YC4 But Pelini will ultimately dig out of this hole only through winning games. Disciplining him before he has a chance to do that serves very little purpose. In what world is a private conversation the same as getting caught for a 3rd DUI? He did irreparable harm to the reputation of himself and his employer. By calling foul on a segment of whine, entitled fairweather fans? No. But I get why you want to make everything about Bo. Again for those with a challenged IQ. He did irreparable harm to the reputation of himself and his employer.

  16. I agree. Personally, I would've liked to see him suspended for the regular season. If this had been a player, I believe the suspension would've been longer. If this was a player with a third DUI he would have been gone. Not true!
  17. I'm just spitballing here, but this also might be cover for Williams going somewhere for treatment. I really don't know though. He still gets to coach and recruit during the week starting Sept. 1
  18. 6-8 power forward from Georgetown Maybe don't throw away all those White jerseys just yet #Nebrasketball https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/766304807804145664 … 11:59 AM - 18 Aug 2016
  19. Different scenarios because the offense occurred later. And not relevant. We already talked about TO. You have your facts wrong. It's a bad idea going with a version of events based on a single prosecutor's press release. Tom hid a gun in his desk for Abdul Muhammad, he wrote about it in his book. My facts are facts. You just deny and put your opinion out as fact.
  20. Accepting this as true (it's not), why does that excuse a third DUI today? People rationalize like this when in their gut they feel one way (that Williams should be fired) but they don't want that result, so they figure out ways to justify coming out on the other side. TO's actions 20 years ago have zero bearing. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ No one is making an excuse for anybody. The point is that everybody (even Osborne) make stupid mistakes and that is not a reason to cast them aside if they are a good person and can be helped to make their life better and still contribute something good to the job. There are a lot of lessons and that our team can learn from this that will help them in life going forward.
  21. Bo had a wife beater on his staff, I never saw the out pouring of hate toward him. What if he had killed her right before the bowl game? Would that have left a stain on our image?? Nobody is perfect in this life. A little fender bender nearly 10 years after his last offense does not need to get him discarded for someone else that likely has skeletons in their closet. This is easily fixable. Riley suspends him for a few months to send a message to him and the players that nobody is above the rules and the AD redoes his contract to stipulate NO Alcohol consumption for the remainder of the time he is employed by the University, or it is automatic dismissal.
  22. Tom Osborne hid a players gun in his desk that was discharged on the streets of Lincoln and did not get fired. Good for you to know.
