  1. Not sure I agree. People who are that concerned about COVID likely aren’t going to a game whether mask mandates are in place or not.
  2. As long as people are aware of the actual policy, b) shouldn’t be a factor. The only place masks are required are the elevators. They're only recommended everywhere else.
  3. This is a Bo Pelini thread where I responded to a poster who claimed it was the wrong decision to fire him. Why are you arguing with me about Frost? I never said we’re currently reaching our potential under him. We obviously aren’t, but we should give him a few more years to try.
  4. There’s no reason our program can’t at least be as good as Wisconsin’s. They have no built-in advantages over us. We became stagnant under Bo. We were consistently letting ranked teams (and not just the Ohio States of the world) run wild on us for seemingly 8 YPC. It wasn’t fun anymore. There was no upward trajectory toward our potential. This state clamors for a team that does more than just taking care of business against Minnesota, Purdue, and Illinois. Yes, it’s gotten worse since he left. That doesn’t mean it was the wrong decision.
  5. Nah. I love Bo but we were at the point where you wouldn’t even have to watch a big night game against a ranked opponent because you knew we’d get embarrassed by four touchdowns. The nine wins mantra gets repeated by those who forget that part, and they forget that we rarely ended the season ranked (for good reason). We were not a top 25 program under Bo after Callahan’s players were out of the program. Our ceiling is higher than that, even though we’ve obviously taken a step back since he left.
  6. Looks like Patterson is eligible to transfer w/o sitting out. He's going to Michigan.
  7. Yeah, it's unfortunate for him. Hopefully he doesn't feel sorry for himself and he keeps chugging along with his goals. But he can still leave NU. He's just saying all the right things right now to keep his options open. I'd bet money he won't be on the roster for spring ball.
  8. Oh yeah, he deserves a chance for sure. I just don't think he'll win the job. I think he's best suited to go to the NFL and give that a shot. A lot of NFL QBs didn't have much success in college. He'd get a chance by someone.
  9. Watch the Spring Game highlights. Gebbia had a designed outside run for a TD. He's capable of running it.
  10. I agree he needs to get bigger, but I don't think it's as huge a deal as many make it out to be. McKenzie Milton: 5'11" 170 lbs Tristan Gebbia: 6'3" 185 lbs Granted, Gebbia will be taking harder hits in the B1G.
  11. We're all in that camp! This is just a fun message board exercise.
  12. Well, I wish I could change my vote... that was fast! Apparently Terry Wilson has canceled his official visit to Indiana and Frost is visiting him next week. I'm now feeling neck and neck between TG and TW.
  13. It'll be interesting to see if we hear some names come out in the coming weeks. The transfers that I listed could all be fits IMO: - Patterson is a dual threat and is allowed to transfer from Ole Miss without sitting out a year. He was the #3 recruit in the nation a few years ago. - Burrow was close to picking NU out of high school. He's been a backup his entire career at tOSU and could consider doing a grad transfer to NU (his dad played here also). I'm not sure how the grad transfer rule works... but I think NU has to have a program that tOSU does not offer, and Burrow would have to enroll in that program as a graduate student. He also needs to be graduated from tOSU to do this. - Wilson also was close to picking NU out of high school. I think he even attended Oregon after Frost recruited him, but quickly left for the JUCO route. I've heard bad things about his passing down there, though.
  14. I like Lee in some ways, but I don't think he gets it for three reasons. Maybe I'll be wrong: 1. After reading about and watching Frost's offense, I think the QB needs to be a threat to run. Lee just seems too slow to me. 2. QB is a position where confidence is huge. The best QBs just have that "it" factor. Russell Wilson is a great example. He overcomes his size and weak arm because he's just always in the moment. Go watch an interview with him. He's 100% engaged. When I see Lee being interviewed, he seems nervous, self-conscious, not engaged. That's how most people are, which is why the Russell Wilsons of the world stand out. Scott Frost had the "it" factor, and he identified it in McKenzie Milton down at UCF. He knows what to look for, and it sounds like Gebbia might have "it". 3. Lee is a combine / QB camp stud. He'll get drafted simply because he'll impress some scouts.
  15. First off, I apologize if this has been asked already. I tried searching for a poll and couldn't find one. Secondly... I know, I know... it's early and nobody has nearly enough information to come up with a confident answer to this question. But just for fun, let's see what everyone's thinking. Who do you think will start at QB in 2018? I'm going with Gebbia for now. The two options that I don't find very likely are Tanner Lee and a True Freshman. Anything else wouldn't surprise me.
  16. Really? I was deciding between Flakes and Mini Wheats and chose the latter because I deemed them to be more adult.
  17. Starting a new diet today, boys. Breakfast: Frosted Mini Wheats Lunch: ??? Dinner: ??? Dessert: Scottcharoos dipped in a Wendy’s Frosty Help me out.
  18. Ooo creative. Probably won’t catch on though.
  19. Haha - yeah I don’t think this is going to work too well.
  20. NebraskaFast? NeBlastka? NeBriska? NebrasQuick? NebrAgile? NeSwiftska? NeDashka?
  21. I'll say we win two of the four games not against Penn State. Don't know which two. They all seem to be about as likely as the next, with the two easier teams being on the road and the two more difficult teams at home. ESPN's FPI just about agrees with me, giving us about a 40% chance of winning each of the Purdue, NW, and Minnesota games, and a 33% chance of beating Iowa. As much as this pains me to say, I'm hoping we don't make a bowl game. I just want to guarantee Riley's departure, and my god if we don't hire Scott Frost as our next HC I will cry.
  22. This. Making a bowl game only makes firing Riley more controversial. Missing a bowl is better for the long term health of the program than going 6-6. Of course, I'd prefer we go 9-3 but that isn't happening. I'm happy to go 5-7 if that's the #CostForFrost.
