  1. Pelini and his staff began to recruit Narcisse at the end of Bo's tenure, after watching him perform against the RB from Newman that we were after (Kendall Bussey, who ended up at A&M.) When HCMR took over they stopped recruiting him, saying they were focused on pro-style QBs only. Narcisse is an early enrollee at LSU. He'll be battling it out with Myles Brennan for the starting spot in 2018.
  2. 5 star recruits are never going to be the norm at Nebraska.... Hell, never have been. Ok, well, if that's the case then I guess we're not going to win any titles anytime soon, because in today's day and age 4 and 5-stars have gotta be what dominates the roster, as evidence as shown. Darn those pesky facts! As a LSU fan can you give me a rundown of their class? I'm far from being an LSU fan; in fact, I hate them with a passion. Baton Rouge is my hometown, but that's it. That being said, I'm sure they'll land another Top 10 class.
  3. Ya, I'm just going to go with disagree and move on.The TL;DR is usually "We need to land top recruits to compete for playoff titles". Pretty ground breaking theory. Dude is there any way you can just block me do that you can just not see my posts? You seem to take exception to pretty much every single thing I say, and your repeated attempts at sarcastic wit and humor continue to fail miserably. Seems like an intellectual such as yourself would recognize by now that not every poster's posts are required reading. It paints you in an unflattering light as a disgruntled teenager or the like. Why so salty?

  5. Not sure how you guys feel about things, but anything lower than 15 just isn't good enough. We took some steps forward by hosting many top-tier guys, but we need to be landing them consistently. 4 and 5-stars need to be the norm, not the exception.
  6. What's up with you and this whole Rafdal to LSU thing? This is your second long post about that. It's been stated multiple times he is not visiting and his offer was not committable. Us or Iowa. Was unaware of that. On another board I post on (tigerdroppings) there are still some people claiming he's visiting this weekend.
  7. So if we barely crack the Top 25 in recruiting, some of you are actually arguing that it's unfair to compare that to Bo's overall recruiting results, which averaged #26, and that we're just "bashing" HCMR? Sorry, but that's just plain baloney. I'm calling a spade a spade, and barely top 25 is barely top 25, no matter the coach. I don't care who the recruiters are; I just want results. On the topic of Rafdal, if he goes to Baton Rouge on an OV, Orgeron will snag him, I have no doubt. Heck, he flipped a commit from Oklahoma this morning. Orgeron is elite, something we don't have. Makes me wonder how things would be different now, if Riley would've hired Coach O instead of Banker. I am very excited about the possibility of Blades being N...
  8. I don't think Orgeron will let Rafdal get away. Coach O is as smooth as they come when it comes to recruiting. At this point I think we'll get Calvin, Oyennaobi, and Daniels. We may miss out on one of them, and/or snag one of the others, but I still think we'll end up with available scholarships unfilled, which is unacceptable, there's no way to sugarcoat it. I figure we'll finish somewhere 23-27, similar to Bo's classes. Not good enough.
  9. I'd add Nick Robinson - N That could happen, but at this point for whatever reason, I feel he is a Memphis lean. He is leading them in cbs but now that I just checked only two people put in a cb for him to go to Memphis. Again I do not know anything about him but we can definitely get this kid. In the end I would say he goes to Memphis, but I would love to be wrong. If I'm not mistaken, at one point he was committed to Memphis, but he decommitted in late-2016.

  11. Taylor is a guy that I really thought would do much more than he has. Apparently he was just never the same following his injury. Saw him in the Texas HS state championship and he was incredible.
  12. Over the past couple of days, LSU's new OC Matt Canada offered Rafdal as well...
  13. Gotta give props to Riley for having the cahones to fire his longtime friend and coordinator, and showing that he's willing to take the steps to return this program to prominence. I don't see how this could possibly not be an upgrade from Banker... but even if things don't work out, it at least shows that Nebraska is willing to pay top-dollar to compete with the big boys.
  14. Yeah, Diaco just doesn't seem like he'd be much of an improvement. I'd hope that Riley would hire someone that I've at least heard of before. With his NFL ties, you'd think he'd know an old NFL DC or two who are looking for a new job. Corey Raymond is another guy I'd look at.
  15. Has anybody mentioned former Saints HC Jim Haslett, current linebackers coach for the Bengals? NVM, I see him on the list.
  16. I just hope that whomever we hire is a proven talent who can attract big-name defensive recruits to Lincoln. I'd take Rob Ryan or Jim Haslett in a heartbeat. Tosh Lupoi is another solid choice.
  17. I'm thinking 6-6, and that's being generous. Going nowhere fast.
  18. In the meantime, I'm quite flattered that you feel compelled to respond to my every post, but it's getting borderline creepy, don'tcha think?
  19. This was my direct quote: "Now, are we going to get Saban or Meyer? Of course not." How that "implies" anything I'm not sure; I don't know how much clearer I could possibly be. But hey, it's ok; feel free to blame your low Lexile level on me. I don't mind.
  20. Sometimes you've just gotta admit you've made a mistake. In your case, this would be one of those times. Like I said before, you don't necessarily have to agree with my opinions, but just because you don't agree doesn't necessarily make them wrong.
  21. You conveniently left out this part: "Top-tier kids will go wherever the top-tier coaches are. We don't currently have a top-tier coach; therefore they're not going to come here. Now, are we going to get Saban or Meyer? Of course not. But there are plenty of other big names out there -- Chip Kelly, for example -- who we could pursue." Buy hey man, whatever makes you feel better.
  22. Point is, you were the only one who misunderstood. That pretty much seems to be the common theme in every thread I post in.
  23. Dude I know what I said; you're simply not comprehending what I said. I said that neither Saban nor Meyer would come here. However, I stated that there are plenty of other big names who would, for the right price. I then mentioned names such as Miles and Kelly and Tressel as examples. Not sure what you don't get. Bottom line is we currently have the 38th ranked recruiting class, the worst I can remember. We'll be reaching just to finish the class, while other big name programs will have to turn guys away. I see players regressing, not progressing. Not sure why you continue to defend this garbage but that's your prerogative and I respect it. I just choose to respectfully disagree. I saw a lot of good football this year and Nebraska was nowhere close. Slow, soft, undisciplined, uninspired -- four words that will never describe a successful program.
  24. I threw out Miles and Kelly as examples. Will they be available after next season? No, and it wouldn't matter anyway because Eichorst will never fire Riley. I figure he'll finish close to .500 next year, be on the proverbial hot seat, and then ride out the rest of his contract, after which both he and Eichorst will proclaim, "We did a lot of positive things for he program." I'm just saying that it my opinion, that's the type of coach we need to target. And say what you want about Miles, but the guy won a national title and played for another, and was 5-6 all-time vs Nick Saban. If that's underachieving, I'll take it.
