  1. Nice story on Brandon Ubel. https://huskers.com/news/2020/3/26/mens-basketball-former-husker-ubel-grateful-for-first-year-as-ga-at-utah-state.aspx
  2. I ran Track/Cross Country for a DIII school near Dordt. Their NAIA scholarship athletes were worse than our DIII (non-scholarship) athletes. It was 25 years ago, but still...
  3. Growing up Kobe with quotes from Kobe Webster. Gives a little insight into a new player on the team. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28946212/these-college-basketball-players-share-legendary-name
  4. Looks like Tim Miles will be an analyst again this coming season. https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/teams/mens-basketball/while-tim-miles-awaits-his-return-to-coaching-he-delivers/article_fb5c1e5a-e10e-528d-a52c-4b6a915d99de.html
  5. I did find a really crappy angle of the shot on the OWH site. https://www.omaha.com/michigan-state-game-winning-shot/video_9f8fd84c-f389-52e7-9ed3-119bf400d51f.html
  6. I was away at college so I didn't see it live and I've seen it described as anywhere from 25 to 40. I went big to encourage people to find it.
  7. If you can find it 11/28/90 vs Michigan State. Beau Reid makes a 40 footer at the buzzer to upset #5 MSU.
  8. Cleveland State is likely to be better than any non-conference team they hosted last year.
  9. Miles is not going to Wyoming. They have hired Jeff Linder from Northern Colorado.
  10. If he transfers, his biggest problem will be that he graduated HS in 2017. That means he has two years for two years of eligibility. If he sits a year as a transfer, he loses a year of playing.
  11. While I think he's not NBA ready, I would never discourage a kid from looking. If nothing else he will get feedback from NBA people on what he needs to improve. Right now I'd say what he needs to work on most is his maturity both on and off court. All the fake bow & arrow when he makes a 3 or the goggles when he makes a nice pass won't fly in the NBA. Neither will being late for practice/film sessions/team transportation. Hopefully he figures it all out and comes back to NU because the on court talent is obviously there.
  12. You can still keep in contact via phone calls, texts, social media, etc.
  13. Right now we have no scholarships available assuming Allen, King & Mayen actually sign. I think everyone assumes Burke is gone, so that's one. Mack would be two. I'd say there's an outside chance Green leaves, but I don't see anyone else leaving (right now anyway).
  14. Appears that he's not getting any playing time. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28883661/frustrated-dywane-wade-skipping-son-title-game
  15. There are two walk-ons who are "redshirting" or maybe there is another student who could join the team as a walk-on. Not sure how useful they would be since they are unlikely to know the system, but it would be another body. Student manager suiting up is another possibility.
  16. Can also encourage him to graduate in May and move on as a grad transfer.
  17. My guess is that the most recent suspension is something more serious. They were already in Minneapolis and got sent home.
  18. It appears that everyone involved with the team just wants the season to be over, so this could be another ugly game.
  19. I can see Burke leaving as a grad transfer no matter if Hoiberg wants him back or not. He was recruited by a different coach into a completely different system. He didn't really have a choice to leave after Miles was fired. If he left, he would have had to appeal to the NCAA for immediate eligibility or lose a season (play 3 in 5 years). And we all know how silly the NCAA can be about appeals. Mack is going to be a tough call. Does his on court talent out weigh the off court BS? There is no doubting the on court talent and potential but he's not Michael Jordan so you can't have a different set of rules for him like the Bulls did and you also can't have your point guard getting suspended constantly. If the off court BS had been early in the year and he had shown signs of maturing through the year, I think it would be a no brainer that he stays, but it has been the opposite.
  20. https://www.omaha.com/sports/high-school/as-hunter-sallis-learns-to-fly-the-millard-north-star/article_94ce2dea-9338-5963-9441-2a2ca4067d03.html Doesn't appear to be behind the pay wall.
