  1. I hope we get back to the days when more people hate Nebraska. That means Nebraska is really good. As a kid I didn't understand it. Now, I would gladly allow Nebraska to take the "villain" role that Alabama or Ohio State has now.
  2. Worth noting just because I've seen it mentioned a bunch in this colossal thread. UCF may not play in the AAC title game. They are the favorite to represent the east division right now. But they have to beat South Florida in the final regular season game. A pretty good South Florida team that only has one loss. A loss to the Bulls means UCF doesn't play in the conference title game and clearly doesn't get a New Years Six bowl.
  3. Duh, from the school he's going to be the head coach of next year ... UCLA!
  4. UCF had two cancelled games, but Memphis was moved to the week they played Maine. Then Austin Peay was scheduled for the week that was supposed to be a bye. So while two games were cancelled, FCS Austin Peay replaced FCS Maine, so they basically just had one game cancelled.
  5. Welcome Home, Son? Wait, are you Larry Frost? Talk about some inside info! Also, that looks pretty good.
  6. This was in the thread already I'm pretty sure. It was (pulls out time to thread page converter) roughly 38 pages ago.
  7. As a Florida fan, what do you think about getting Chip Kelly? I think it's a great hire. I don't have anything ground-breaking that hundreds of other people haven't already said, but I'm pretty sure Chip could put out a better offense than Muschamp or McElwain. Combine that with the dudes he could recruit to Gainesville and I would guess Florida will be much more fun to watch on offense. Before Frost took off at UCF, I always wanted Kelly to come to Nebraska. I would prefer Frost now, but that's more due to him being a native son coming home. Kelly certainly has a better resume. Hell, his resume is probably better than everyone's except Saban and Meyer.
  8. I am ok with paying players. I'm also ok with paying coaches. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive.
  9. I'll never understand why people complain about how much athletes and coaches are paid, but nobody ever says anything about actors and talk show hosts making even more for less work.
  10. You don't get paid what you're worth. You get paid by how easy you are to replace. Nebraska has reached the point where it almost can't afford to not hire Frost. That's why he's going to be paid so much. And with all the extra BTN money now, Nebraska can easily cover that.
  11. That is pretty sweet. I'm a big Game of Thrones fan. I have a sweet idea for a Frost GoT GIF that would require photoshop. I don't have photoshop and don't know how to change GIFs. There are spoilers for Game of Thrones below.
  12. Here's the truly rich/ironic part. At this point, what percentage of the fan base would be disappointed that Nebraska "only got" Nick Saban instead of Frost? That is truly odd. DISCLAIMER: I count myself among the people that only want Frost.
  13. This seems reasonable. To be fair though, it's possible someone unaffiliated with Nebraska leaked it. It's possible, although maybe not likely, that Frost's agent is playing Nebraska and Florida off each other with the ultimate goal of sending Frost to Florida at an incredibly high price.
  14. I hope so. I don't know if Bill Moos is truly a smart guy or not. He at least seems competent though. Hiring a guy who just got fired for making up death threats would scream incompetence.
  15. I'm generally pretty even-keeled. I don't like to get too high or too low. If Nebraska hires Jim McElwain as its next head coach though, I may be just done. Ok, not done, but royally POd. That would be so incredibly dumb that I would lose faith in Nebraska ever winning another division title, let alone a conference title or better. While not the literal worst-hire possible, it would be top five for worst hire possible that realistically could happen. Whatever you do Bill Moos, don't hire Jim McElwain, Bret Bielema or Les Miles. I'd rather roll the dice on a coordinator with no head-coach experience. And I don't really want Nebraska to do that.
  16. Maybe. Either way, I wouldn't expect this game to be pretty. Will it be as bad as Texas Tech in 2004? Possibly.
  17. Possible, but I wouldn't bank on it. Franklin was calling timeouts against Akron at the end of the game to ice their kicker.
  18. EVERYONE STOP POSTING NOW!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! IF THE THREAD GOES TO 98 PAGES, THEN MONTE CHRISTO WILL BE THE NEXT HEAD COACH!!! STOP POSTING FOR THE FUTURE OF NEBRASKA FOOTBALL!!!
  19. I said something like this probably 30 or 40 pages ago, but I really hope Flordia hires Chip Kelly. I don't know which team Frost would choose if he was the top choice for both Nebraska and Florida. I'm glad that it appears like it won't be an issue. And assuming Chip is motivated like his Oregon years, I think he could be really really good at Florida.
  20. I didn't say it was impossible. It could happen. Gary Andersen is one example. There are hundreds more of guys taking the money. I think it is far far more likely that Riley takes a few million dollars on his way out of town then taking nothing. Put yourself in Riley's shoes. Would you leave millions on the table?
  21. I've seen a lot of people say this, and while it could happen, I really doubt he resigns. If he does, he doesn't get the buyout money. I don't know why Riley would pass on millions of dollars.
