I did see his recruiting video coming off his sophomore season last year and he pulled off some freakishly impressive runs. Several were over 50 yard td scampers. Very similar to Barry Sanders. It would be a huge recruiting coup to get him away from Miami.

I notice on Scout that he has knocked NU down to medium interest after being at high for so long.

Deja vu! Is it February 2nd already? That is my favorite movie. Again the official list released by the NFL today doesn't contain Herian's name. Brandt was offering a suggestion on how Herian's name may have been on the old list which Yahoo posted.

NFL released it's official list of the 48 coming out early and Herian is not on it. A few days ago Gil Brandt was on 1620 and he surmised that Herian may have put in an inquiry as to where he would go in the draft. The NFL committee looks at tape and gives an estimate based on that. Somewhere in the paperwork Herian was still on the list at that time.

I think Nunn is a good player. If he can work through his "alligator-arm-itis" he can become a great player.

KInda dumb, but I think I can answer my own question now. From what I can find is he didn't go to many camps during his junior year, last year his team ran the ball a lot and because of this he got very little attention. He only had about 300 yards receiiving and like 15 cathces. His team was also pretty bad. In the three articles you posted the numbers were much better. The Omaha World Herald said he had 58 catches, 920 yards, and 12 tds. The Lincoln Journal Star said 56 catches, 927 yards, and 12 tds. The El Paso Times said 52 catches, 917 yards, and 12 tds. Overlooking their journalistic inconsistency, why would you throw out numbers far below those totals?

There were several articles written before the season that mentioned Herian being a player to watch in the 2006 draft. Yet that would have been under the assumption he would have actually played this season. If Herian had declared we definately would have heard about it and Watson wouldn't have been so jazzed about coaching him.

That sums up the limited scope that rivals and scout uses when it looks at players. The fact that great offensive minds like Leach and Mumme like what they see in Henry shows he may be a special player. With the right players fitting into his system Coach Callahan may soon be viewed as a great offensive mind as well.

Any word on if Eloi will still be joining the team?

I notice that Scout keeps switching between listing Green as a QB and SS. Maybe USC wants him as a SS and he is willing.

Initially I think the idea of assigning to whole coaching staff to develop relationships with the high schools in state is a great idea. I just hope it doesn't take away from hitting Florida, Texas, and California as hard as necessary. This is another good move by Coach Callahan just as when he shifted five assistants to cover Texas as part of their duties.
