Don't forget that the Co-OC/QB coach at Coastal Carolina is Willy Korn, and coordinator of player personnel is Colton Korn... a sign, perhaps?

Where do we go from here?
The Scarlet Pimpernel replied to cornhuskers4ever's topic in Husker Football
I trust him, for now... but if his top targets are really Campbell and Doeren, I'm not so sure how long I'll continue to trust him. -
Correct -- they're not good enough. Saying they're better than Frost isn't saying much. And no, I never said any of the stuff you said. I've always had high expectations and I'll continue to have them. Campbell and Doeren aren't good enough, nor is Bill O' Brien. Do better.

People don't want a coach who is "too flashy" or who "has too much baggage" -- that's ridiculous. I couldn't care less how nice the guy is or how politically correct he is. We need a proven winner.
-
I've heard the "better resources" spiel before. Like I said, I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now. And no, I wouldn't want a coach that's 44-34. That record sucks. Have some high expectations, for God's sake. Some of you seem willing to accept anyone better than Frost... and that encompasses pretty much every coach in America.

...you left out the lack of success he's had at Wyoming. Hard pass. -
Not good enough. All I've gotta say is that if Campbell and Doeren are two of our top targets we're in trouble
-
I mean, I wouldn't hate the hire, but I wouldn't love it, either.

I'm just wondering what TA sees in Campbell that would make him his top target? I mean he's a good, not great, head coach. We could do a lot worse, but we could also do a lot better. -

I'd honestly love to see what Mickey could do if he stuck with Whipple as OC, and hired his brother away from the Cardinals as DC. And maybe he could bring in Ed O as a recruiting coordinator -

That's exactly what they said about Mike Riley. I didn't buy it then, and I'm not buying it now.

Does Anyone Else Feel This Could go bad?
The Scarlet Pimpernel replied to husker009's topic in Husker Football
one thing I know for certain is that MJ's players love him. I expect the team to rally around him and give their best effort. I admit, I'd feel better if Chinander was let go this week; he's the black cloud hanging over the program at this point. -

Chinander must have balls the size of cantaloupes if he shows up at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. He should be run out of town on a rail -
I’d prefer Todd

My top 5 (not including MJ): Urban Meyer Chris Petersen Dave Aranda Tom Herman Todd Monken Next 5: Mark Stoops Matt Rhule Mike Gundy Matt House Jamey Chadwell
-
My only concern w/ Rhule is that he never beat a ranked team while with Baylor. Kiffin's not coming. Meyer would be my #1 choice. I thought O'Brien would be ok but after watching his playcalling against Texas I'm not so sure.
-
I'm intrigued to see what he can do. He's never been given much attention as a potential big-time head coach, but maybe he could get bring in his brother as DC, should he land the job? Doubtful, but hey.
-
If we're taking the option route, I'd prefer Calhoun or Chadwell.
-
I'm 100% in agreement. The one thing I hope is that whomever is hired retains him. Question is, will he be ok with being demoted back to coordinator?
-
Mickey Joseph can recruit, I'll give him that much. His players love him, and he can recruit Louisiana. That said, I'm just not sure if he's ready for such a big gig. Most people don't know that he was previously a head coach at Langston University, compiling a 13-7 overall record. He didn't exactly turn heads.
-
I find it hard to believe that he hadn't already sent his feelers out to gauge potential interest of coaches he was considering. All of that "we're going to do a national search" is just fluff. Doubtful he fired Frost without knowing with a high amount of certainty that one or more of his targets was very interested.

I wanted Richt back when the Riley hire was made.
-
I'll be somewhat disappointed if it's Campbell. Again it seems like the safe, economical choice, but not the best one at this time of need. He's only had one 9-win season during his ISU tenure.

those oddsmakers are way off with their lists. Remember the list back during the Riley hire?
