    You're right - it should not have been close, just like many games in Frost's tenure should not have been close. My point is, we all should have learned by now that you can't just assume that a game won't be close. There are no "gimmes" on the schedule anymore.

    Point is, those teams may be competitive, but they're the exception. For the most part, recruiting matters. Also, with the right coach, I don't think we're that far away from a championship. Question is whether or not we're willing to pay for the right coach.

    I agree to an extent that these "fluff" games are somewhat of a waste, and give fans a false sense of hope.

    Brian Kelly is killing it on the recruiting trail. Another example of a guy making big strides in Year One at a new school. And before anybody says anything, yes I'm aware that's it's much easier recruiting to LSU than it is to Nebraska... which is exactly why we need a highly-regarded coach who kids will want to come to Lincoln to play for.

    Too many people are like, "Well Wisconsin and Iowa don't recruit all that well and they still win" -- when was the last time either of them won a championship?

    Zac Taylor has bigger fish to fry. He's trying to win Super Bowls. Maybe once his NFL run is over he'd consider, but that likely won't be for a long time.
