  1. Why is it that Lou Holtz has to tie EVERY commentary to his days at Notre Dame. God that's sickening.
  2. What part of the word "piecemeal" do you not understand. It means cutting and pasting from an entry to create something completely out-of-context - which is what you did. I didn't say that Nebraska would be successful in running the ball. I don't think my entry sounds optomistic. I just offered a hypothetical game plan based on tmy observation that BC seems to concoct game plans that are sometimes out-of-line with conventional thinking. Michigan expects the Huskers to come-out with the short passing game...quick slants and screens. I think he will devise a game plan to give the Wolverines the unexpected. Who knows. I'm probably wrong. We'll see what happens in 30 minutes. I wish you luck as well. Enjoy the game, my friend.
  3. What's your point? You just piece-mealed my entry to make it sound like I was stating that Nebraska had a decent running attack when I actually stated just the opposite. Having fun stirring up the hornet's nest? I'm not bashing your beloved Michigan. Read my entry again, my friend, and tell me how you got anything to argue about?

  5. Were the colors of the test pattern in the ad significant to the solution? Was the time (1 minute) significant? Was the sound significant? Was the ad placed in hopes of making a political statement? Was the ad placed in hopes of increasing viewership of the program that followed? Was the ad placed to cause people to adjust their televisions to a different channel so as to avoid effective air time of a political opponent? Was the person who placed the ad running in the mayoral election? Is the following the solution: the man was running as mayor. His opponent was running air time (another ad?), and the man wanted to run a test pattern to cause people to change to a different channel?
  6. Very comparable. Though we run different offenses. Talent-wise minus the experience, I would agree with you that Minnesota and Wisconsin compare to Nebraska. I was surprised Michigan lost their home game to Minnesota this year. Minnesota is one of those up-and-down teams...either really impressive or ordinary. Again, anything can happen. I think it will be important that Nebraska establishs a running game (something they haven't been able to do all year). I won't be surprised if BC tries to grind it out on the ground, then take some shots down the field. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin have decent running attacks. I don't think Nebraska can rely too heavily on the pass. Just a hunch. Gad, I'm getting excited about this game. Hard to get any work done. GO BIG RED
  7. UM - 34 NU - 24 NU Rushing - 93 yds NU Passing - 266 yds
  8. No way...I missed it!! Boy, I'm bummed. This games was obviously the highlight of the bowl games. What exactly is a "Zip" anyway?
  9. Hey, we're just hours away from Akron vs. Memphis!!!! I'm totally stoked!! GO HUSKERS
  10. GoBlue, According to my research, the 1997 Michigan team had Colorada and Baylor as home games, and Nebraska had them as away games. That's like comparing apples to oranges. We'll never know for certain which 1997 team was better because they never played each other. All the more reason for a playoff system. Anyway, for the life of me, I don't understand this "my team was better than your team ten-years ago" mentality. Jeez...you would think that a team and their fans would be overjoyed just to share a national title. It's like two kids playing tug-o-war over a toy. All this comparision of strength of schedule and comparing like-opponents is a complete waste of time IMO. Can't we have something a little more interesting to talk about? I have a lot of respect for the Michigan program and the Big Ten in general - being a native Minnesotan and fan of the Gophs (the yearly punching bag of Michigan...except for THIS year ). What I see is two classy programs bashing helmets in a battle for pride. I think it's a beautiful matchup and look forward to the game. It would be great if Nebraska had more games scheduled with teams like Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. Now, I just pray that the players for Nebraska and Michigan put on a good show at the Alamo Bowl, and that these two storied programs bash heads more often! Wishing you, Michigan fans, and Huskerboard patrons "Happy Holidays".

  12. Yeah, I'd go with Swift, McKeon and Titus...but, how 'bout Congdon. He looked shaky the first few games. But, over the last half of the season, he pretty much has nailed everything. Now, he is one of the elite kickers in the conference ...in his FRESHMAN year!
  13. I've been "trolling" this board for over a year. ("Trolling"is probably a poor choice of words). Thought I'd jump in to some of these discussions. Former, I think the difference with Murtha decommiting vs. Freeman is that Callahan didn't go to Minnesota (was it Hutchington, MN?) to pull a commit. Prince, on the otherhand, had the gall to ask for an in-home visit. I'm not blaming Prince...he did what he had to do. But, I don't Callahan would "lower" himself to that type of recruiting. I'd hate to be proved wrong on this. By the way, Former, I've enjoyed your posts...usually well thought-out...I just don't agree with a lot of them
