  1. There's currently 30 games left and if they win every series and either the mid-week game or sweep the conference foe they end up with a record of 38-14-1 (that record gets them into the post season and likely a regional host as well.) Super regional usually requires 42+ wins.
  2. Just keep winning baby... if we can win 3-4 every week I'll be stoked!!
  3. Both backs eyes looking down field and inside read on the backer.. backers move determines inside or outside cut, yes?
  4. Did I misunderstand Rhule in the TA/TO/MR interview where they were talking about the changes to the rules which make it more difficult for option football to be successful because of the new blocking rules? I also think I remember hearing Urban discuss the new blocking rules and saying it effectively ends the option. I've never understood that. Was it something to do with cutting, or how long contact can go downfield? Zone blocking is still permitted, yes? Regardless, all 3 in the interview acknowledged the old ways are over and no longer permitted. (Just wish I knew what "the old ways" was.)
  5. It might take the entire season to develop a Sunday starter but the staff will succeed in that. Until then, just win every conference series and post season will be in the pocket.
  6. Call me crazy, probably am but honestly, my gut is telling RJ will be used more than any other back. RJ has always ran with aggression, not a dancer, a north/south runner that isn't afraid of contact and I think because of that we'll see a lot of RJ. I like Grant a bunch too and Allen, if RJ and Grant can handle the load might be redshirted.
  7. We all enjoy it for watching Husker events. I didn't include that option intentionally. My thought was, outside of Husker events is BTN useful to the voter?
  8. Worst plate umpire in the B1G behind the plate today.. Certain the managers will be chirping.. (Daniel Jimenez)
  9. So, curiosity is getting to me so a poll I created.. I say totally useless except for football
  10. Guys, let's allow the staff to handle these issues and not fill the thread with nonsensical opinions based on zero facts please & thank you!!
  11. So, a friend commented to me "the #3 team in the state is starting conference play tonight", I asked him if Creighton was the #2 basketball team in the state because they lost the head to head to the huskers.. His response was "don't be stupid", I replied don't be a homer if it applies to one it most surely applies to the other. Am I wrong? Looking forward to a strong conference showing this weekend. Illinois is yet to lose a series, hoping this is the first!! GBR!!!
  12. Here''s what I am telling myself. Likely wrong but I believe our success hinges on the hearts of those "other" 4 and 5 star young men. I don't like saying that but the 2 or 3 other board menbers that have continuely pointed this out.. "we need 4 and 5 star players" ... well, those posters have been and are right. I don't like saying it depends on who or whom he can convince to join him as I'd prefer he joins without sugar coating but that isn't going to happen. Lets all hope this weekend goes well and the new facility is cherry on top for all of the recruits. To those whom have said it let me say you're right, I'm wrong. (as usual)
  13. lol, y'all must have missed the "can't blow smoke up my own arse" part.. I'm obviously attempting insanity!!
  14. here now... Prime has always been a flashy personality.. I'm born and bred country red and find nothing wrong with this and truth be, I don't know Prime's past but he did grow up in florida and florida is one of the leading exports of beef. Maybe Prime wears that hat so well because it's not his first time wearing one. (bah can't blow smoke up even my own arse.. it's his first but still, he wears it well) 2023 Beef Exports by state: Texas 4,685,000 Oklahoma 2,189,000 Missouri 2,035,000 Nebraska 1,900,000 South Dakota 1,799,000 Kansas 1,477,000 Montana 1,419,000 Kentucky 983,000 North Dakota 975,000 Florida 929,000
  15. wow... seems a little small to be a D1 athlete but hey, if JJ can make the NFL than why not Scoop, right? Shortest Active NFL Players J.J. Taylor, RB – 5 feet 5 1⁄4 inches
  16. Ladies owned the court Sunday. Keep on Keepin On Lady Huskers!!! Awesome game!! Making us proud indeed!!
  17. @ColoradoHusk - I grew up ranching in western Nebraska near both the Wyoming and S. Dakota borders. We wore vests from early Oct thru mid-April and I'm certain your not as portly as I am. I wear them in Omaha now because coats are to warm. (yes, because my insulation "is" plentiful)
  18. We have one but he's being used as a long backup for our Friday or Saturday starter. Pitching depth it seems is going to be a "huge" issue as the season progresses. I don't mind losing a Sunday game while trying to build depth in the staff. Yes, mid week games are the normal time to use unproven but skilled talent however when your roster is lacking you gotta do what you can, yes?
  19. Dang it... I think I'd like to have that hooded vest. Anyone know if it's available to us (well me) scrubs?
  20. @Hooked on Huskers - For now, maybe forever, Oregon won't get the invite. Cal/Washington/Stanford are the best bets to get an invite. (has to do with fed research grant $.$$) Another reason Oregon won't get consideration is the East Coast teams. UNC/Virginia/G. Tech/FSU are all Fed Research Grant $.$$ rich. (FSU being the lowest) and finally there's Notre Dame who holds all the cards. Which I'd find incredibly funny if say Cal and Washington are invited followed by say UNC and Virginia. Then Notre Dame contacting the remaining teams (especially teams like Clemson, Utah, Oregon, Stanford, FSU, Okie St, TCU, Baylor, BYU to name a few) and saying screw the B1G and SEC .. let's pool our resources and create a true coast to coast conference. Now that would be awesome and the perfect way to give the finger to the B1G and SEC.
  21. Regarding the Bold text, not sure any "protected rival" can be truly considered until the B1G's expansion intentions are announced. "If" the B1G is bringing in 2 more Pac schools (likely Cal and Washington or Stanford and Washington) Then we unimportant peeps can throw out our proposals. All in fun as we know nobody really cares about what the fans opinions are. Regarding expansion I genuinely feel the next additions will be Washington, Clemson, FSU & yes... Notre Dame but that won't happen until the FSU & Clemson finalize internal decisions regarding the hefty cost as stated here: (Link) " Cost of departure Contracts are made to be broken in every industry. In college athletics, the most recent example is the upcoming depature of Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2024 -- one year earlier than the end of the Big 12's deal. It will be very pricey for Clemson, Florida State -- or any other ACC program, for that matter -- to leave under the league's current grant of rights. Carolyn Egan, Florida State's vice president for legal affairs and general counsel, said during Friday's meeting that the exit fee would be approximately $120 million, according to the Tampa Bay Times."
  22. I was listening to the game and constantly reminding myself.. midweek games are for development, midweek games are for development, midweek games are for... screw it, i'm still mad but hey, at least I refrained from coming in and ranting so yeah me!! (growth baby, personal growth )
  23. Ugh... I forgot that I had myself on probationary posting... Last post in the baseball thread until tomorrow. I'm such a jinx.
  24. except the NU players and UNO players are currently on spring break, yes/no and who on earth complains about leaving work early?
  25. I realize the need for 6pm first pitch games but in March (at least early/mid March) why can't they play earlier.. 4pm (warmer) and would still enhance ticket sales. I'd make the drive for a mid march 45° game but I won't for a 6pm (home at 10:00pmish) 45° game.
