  1. Sent Home!! Guess I'll be watching the games in my lounger today Was informed that I am being sent home but I can use PTO for the remainder of the day. I asked why, boss replied "well, I received a complaint that you were out of uniform".. Yeah Me!! Next post will be on my phone from my lazy boy!
  2. I'll post the interaction with the boss if one occurs. Currently 9:38 and nothing has been said.
  3. My employer allows the employees to wear the logo of their favorite college team on Friday's during football season but not outside of football. Today I'm wearing Red to work against the company policy. First, are you wearing Red today? Secondly, do you think I'm "justifiably" risking getting written up? Lastly, if you were my boss, would you write me up?
  4. Glad to read this. Weather this weekend will be an issue. Hopefully they play a double Saturday if the weather looks unplayable on Sunday. Time will tell but regardless, just win baby!! On a side note: Weather looks clear for the midweek at K State. (Chilly but dry)
  5. @Mavric - What's your thoughts on a doubleheader Saturday? This mornings forecast indicates Sunday to be all rain, all day.
  6. I think Tims (timmerman) is an important piece. He can throw that nasty stuff but he likely needs to develop it in the summer leagues. Situational this year and then see what fall ball brings but still, his situational arm will be an important part this year. Caleb I think is an emergency go to guy, situational, 1 out type arm this year. Use him that way and let him build his confidence especially in games like last nights where the outcome was never really in doubt. I know they're also developing daiss as their closer but I'd have like to see them throw Caleb in that situation.
  7. If you go to www.hardcorehusky.com you can view what that fanbase is saying. Mostly, he didn't fit in because he's not liberal enough and is not a DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) guy. That said, they obviously aren't happy about his departure nor would we if in their shoes. They're saying many of the same things we said like.. wth good is contract these days.. etc
  8. So, as of 3.19.2024, here are the teams current pitching stats.. any surprises in there? I'd say my biggest surprise is Kyle Perry having only 5.2 innings pitched. Before the season started I fully expected Kyle to be our mid-week starter but honestly, I like how Childress & Bolt are using Kyle.
  9. How long before we actually know the "why he left" truth? It all seems so unbelievable and then what the march madness committee did, wth guys?
  10. Total agree here and playing 2 mid week with cold weather incoming will likely show why your statement above is spot on.
  11. Wish they'd have move the start on this to 4:00. The weather would be a little nicer I think. This coming weekend.. more than likely we will see a double header Saturday as Sunday is supposed to be all rain. Friday is the best weather for the weekend. Wish they could schedule a doubleheader Friday and play the final game Saturday to let the lobos catch an early flight and head home ahead of the weather. Yes it would be taxing on the arms but I'd rather get 3 games in and not risk injury to players playing in cold weather.
  12. The series win is nice true but the sweep was huge. We faced a pitcher in his sophomore season that nearly won his regional game against bama last year. Outside of those in the Husker locker room and fanbase not many expected a Husker Friday Night victory and honestly, they shouldn't have. Nebraska though they had beaten the GCU ace, had struggled scoring in the TT & OU losses against lesser pitchers. Sweeping Nicholls, who will be a regional team, in RPI and SOS was huge. Hopefully we can keep it going for a while. Need all 5 games this week. and lastly, how about Walsh.. dude is on fire baby. Hopefully that bat keeps stroking and poking it. Should be B1G's player of the week and most certainly would be if the B1G combined pitching into the equation but they don't so his Tuesday victory on the mound won't be factored into the POW award. Regardless... Team overcame a tough Friday game and some rather chilly temps Sunday to sweep the series.. Congrats on doing was you should do if a regional host is in your sites.
  13. Because you were attempting to use the facts to belittle an opponent rather than taking a moment to actually look into the team as a whole. Your original post was made in an attempt to "snub" Nebraska's victory.
  14. Just so we all know where Evan Bland's comment regarding Sam Hill I asked google to define "what in Sam Hill" means and the answer is: Store owner in Arizona: Sam Hill was also a mercantile store owner who offered a vast and diverse inventory of goods. People began using the term "what in the Sam Hill is that?" to describe something they found odd or unusual, just like the inventory found in Sam Hill's store.
  15. Bottom of th 8th in the Western Illinois/Iowa Game: Pitch Count 171 / 137 Top of the 7th in the Belmont/Indiana Game: Pitch Count 126 / 116 Bottom of 6, UMass Lowell/Penn State Game: Pitch Count 100 / 148 Bottom of 4, Auburn / Vanderbilt Game: Pitch Count 63 / 71 (2 of the best teams in baseball) I could keep posting but I think the picture is well painted. Is it any wonder college pitchers have to almost sit out a year before actually throwing meaningfully in the minors. The zones in the NCAA are ridiculous.
  16. Bottom of 2, Good Guys up 5-0, Sears get out of the second throwing only 9 pitches.
  17. Are you serious... First inning over with the pitch count of the starters sitting at Nicholls start 33, Sears (NU) @ 35. Watching the game on ESPN+ and the zone is unbelievably bad. Strikes are called balls, balls are called strikes. One pitch called a strike and the next, in the same spot, a ball but honestly, I have grown to expect this. It's an issue throughout college ball.
  18. I don't know much about basketball, in fact, it's my weakest knowledge base sport. I only really understand the basics. They talk about modern style NBA vs Old School style NBA. That I understand as the new being more open and kind of run and shoot vs the old being pound the paint and let the players be more physical. What I don't understand in today's game is the inside out concepts and why teams seemingly are not using that style of play as much. Stockton and Malone are hall of fame players because of it. To a degree, Shaq & Koby too, yes? Where has that gone and why? It seems Hoiberg and company are using it well while also implementing the slashing/fast moving, get open and shoot the mid-range/3 pt jumper.
  19. AND sadly, many of the bracketologists have Colorado & Nebraska facing off in the first round.
  20. @ECisGod I think it would play better for us to slow the game down against Illinois, am I wrong in that thinking? It seems to me Illinois can run with anyone and letting them get out running plays into their game.
  21. @ECisGod Thanks, I didn't know that about the sweet 16 conference guard.. think that's a good definition to your analogy. It will be a fun ride either way. I gotta say, I'm enjoying this ride with my favorite team. I mean heck, I even have hopes for the football program. Life's Good man, it's just gosh darn GOOD!!
  22. Whisky is projected as a 5 seed. My question is, if Nebraska wins today and loses tomorrow to either Whisky or Purdue would that push them to a 6 seed? Will Nebraska have to beat Illinois today win tomorrow to hold the 7 seed spot? CBS Updated Bracket, they have 3 B1G schools in the East Bracket... surely that won't happen will it? East 1 UConn 16 Stetson Brooklyn 8 Colo. St. 9 Nebraska 5 BYU 12 Grand Canyon Salt Lake 4 Alabama 13 McNeese 6 Nevada 11 Colorado Omaha 3 Illinois 14 Akron 7 Gonzaga 10 Michigan St. Omaha 2 Iowa St. 15 S. Dak. St.
  23. ESPN Project: 7 seed in Charlotte vs Colorado CHARLOTTE 7 Nebraska 10 (aq) - Colorado 2 Tennessee 15 (aq) - Fairfield
  24. I think we first hire a freaking president and then he/she hires an AD.
