  1. I don't know much about basketball, in fact, it's my weakest knowledge base sport. I only really understand the basics. They talk about modern style NBA vs Old School style NBA. That I understand as the new being more open and kind of run and shoot vs the old being pound the paint and let the players be more physical. What I don't understand in today's game is the inside out concepts and why teams seemingly are not using that style of play as much. Stockton and Malone are hall of fame players because of it. To a degree, Shaq & Koby too, yes? Where has that gone and why? It seems Hoiberg and company are using it well while also implementing the slashing/fast moving, get open and shoot the mid-range/3 pt jumper.
  2. AND sadly, many of the bracketologists have Colorado & Nebraska facing off in the first round.
  3. @ECisGod I think it would play better for us to slow the game down against Illinois, am I wrong in that thinking? It seems to me Illinois can run with anyone and letting them get out running plays into their game.
  4. @ECisGod Thanks, I didn't know that about the sweet 16 conference guard.. think that's a good definition to your analogy. It will be a fun ride either way. I gotta say, I'm enjoying this ride with my favorite team. I mean heck, I even have hopes for the football program. Life's Good man, it's just gosh darn GOOD!!
  5. Whisky is projected as a 5 seed. My question is, if Nebraska wins today and loses tomorrow to either Whisky or Purdue would that push them to a 6 seed? Will Nebraska have to beat Illinois today win tomorrow to hold the 7 seed spot? CBS Updated Bracket, they have 3 B1G schools in the East Bracket... surely that won't happen will it? East 1 UConn 16 Stetson Brooklyn 8 Colo. St. 9 Nebraska 5 BYU 12 Grand Canyon Salt Lake 4 Alabama 13 McNeese 6 Nevada 11 Colorado Omaha 3 Illinois 14 Akron 7 Gonzaga 10 Michigan St. Omaha 2 Iowa St. 15 S. Dak. St.
  6. ESPN Project: 7 seed in Charlotte vs Colorado CHARLOTTE 7 Nebraska 10 (aq) - Colorado 2 Tennessee 15 (aq) - Fairfield
  7. I think we first hire a freaking president and then he/she hires an AD.
  8. Silly post to say the least. There's a reason Nebraska has the #1 ranked NC SOS, the #2 SOS and the #2 ranked RPI. You might not think much of Nicholls but I assure you the writers, coaches and even computer algorithms do. The Nicholls starter we faced last night will be a top pick in next years draft as he's only in his second year. Not sure you know who the coach is for Nicholls (Mike Silva) but his coaching ability has never been doubted and at every stop the pitching has been impressively impeccable. (Maybe take a moment and do a google search.) Nicholls played in the 2023 Tuscaloosa Regional as the 4 seed and could have (might say should have) beaten bama in the opening game (losing by 1 in the btm of 9th, 4-3) and most of the Nicholls team returned this year. Here, I'll make it easy for you: 2024 southland conference preseason projection 2024 Opening Day Write Up by the Opponent and finally, if you don't want to read, here is the preseason interview with Mike Silva regarding the 2024 season. Coach Speaks Alabama Coach Jason Jackson on facing Nicholls in the 2023 Regional but... I digress, I mean you rightfully have your opinion and I have mine. Nobody is wrong.
  9. I woke this morning after watching a Friday to remember in Nebraska Athletics. My very first thought as I opened my eyes was "Can we, Husker Nation, finally just move on from the best last Era of Husker Greatness and into a NEW era of Husker Greatness"? The old regime/guard is out finally. Trev was the last of the old guard. The new guard is/has righted the ship and frankly, I think Trev leaving is probably going to turn out to be a good thing. The Solich issue was mended and put to rest by the last of the "old guard" as it should have been. Trev did an admirable job of correcting the wrongs, bringing unity back, putting the department into a new era and then left. So, instead of constantly whining about it, let's actually lay it to rest and move forward with the new group of coaches and allow them to create their own dynasty along with the players they bring in. There's few of the old guard left. The volleyball team did it when Terry hired John and that's proven to be hugely successful. Time now for Matt, for Fred, Amy and the rest. Time for the fanbase (myself included) to sit back and enjoy the ride.
  10. Nichols will be a regional team. This is a BIG dub for us. Need to stay focused.. Tomorrow won't be easy.
  11. Remember this name: David Condon and pray we never have to deal with his calls at home plate. Absolute horrendous plate umpire. and... The Iowa game: look at this, Top of the 5th, no outs (Total Pitches) W. Illinois 72 @ Iowa 100 100 pitches in less than 5 innings
  12. lmao... nearly spit my diet dew out with the "don't know who to screw over" part.. AWESOME explanation @ECisGod
  13. Thanks @GSG I asked because Izzo called them out early game when interviewed following a commercial break. I know Izzo gets a long leash and can say things other coaches can't. That said, to me the officials look completely incompetent.
  14. Can someone explain the officiating in the Purdue/Michigan State game. Are the officials in control or not? Are they allowing the teams to be more physical? It seems to me that Eddy is getting away with a butt load of shoulder clears, is he?
  15. @HANC @Xmas32 - Both of you make very good points. See.. I told you I'm not qualified to be a manager of a team
  16. Good interim selection, yes? Curious what others think. also, I think there's a very real possibility that Jamie Pollard will be reached out to or at least I hope so. Kind felt he was who I wanted when Trev was hired. Hope we didn't burn that bridge.
  17. This is why politics has no place in academia. Teach the facts about governments and strengths and weaknesses of all types from authoritarian to democratic republics but keep the personal opinions and beliefs out of the subject matter. Somehow the ultra left and extreme right can't get this through their thick heads and they both push their agenda's and indoctrinations. Enforce curriculum while also enforcing institutional indoctrination. I mean seriously, did the world learn nothing from the mistakes leading up to the 2nd great war?? Indoctrination of any type is purely disgusting be it political, religious, biological, or any other.. Just stop with indoctrination principles and a lot of the differences suddenly becomes indifference to/with one another and real change/advances occur.
  18. Wisconsin is on fire.. They're making a statement and Maryland is the hors devours. (spelling??)
  19. They like that Ty Horn 95+ 2 seamer.. also, kind of surprised they're not giving sears a shot at friday but hey, I'm not the coach nor qualified to be one so, just win baby!!
  20. Hopefully and in due time, Trev will address openly his decision. Speculating on it only creates confrontation. However, I don't believe anyone can deny that 206 days and still nowhere near having an announced replacement for Carter is acceptable. I also think the Pillen apologists might rethink their side. The old clique of "s_it rolls down hill" is true but so too is the truth that ownership of a problem starts at the top. Trev's gone, the university has to move forward and the university and board of regents can't drag their feet any longer. Pillen is accountable and if it is learned that he's the biggest issue then address it in the next election but for now, the university needs to act proactively and with urgency while also doing their due diligence in finding the best person for the positions, politics aside and excluded in the decision process. Flippin politics!! Hate it!!
  21. Honestly, splitting isn't the desired outcome for sure but it also isn't the worst. Need to sweep an underrated Nichols team this weekend though.
  22. Is there any chance that a certain VB coach is promoted to "acting AD" while the university finishes it's search for first a President then the AD?
  23. Frustrating to say the least. Now the worry about sniping coachs (like Tony White)... Shocked that Trev resigned via email rather than in person.. Guess the office will be cleaned and personal items forwarded.
  24. Not sure what's happening with Indiana.. They are getting destroyed at home by Illinois State.. 13-0 (top of 3, 1 out) Currently they are 3-6 over their last 9 games and if today's score hold it will be 3-7. In this stretch they've played some very good competition true. (Bama @ 15-2 record, Dallas Baptist @ 15 - 3 record (1 game each) and a 3 game series with Troy who is also 15-3) Still, losing to teams with below .500 records too and mostly blowouts. Looking at the roster and reading through a few Hoosier articles I didn't read where they've suffered injury other than their Freshman Catcher who was their day 1 starter. He was hurt in that game. Score as I close now is 14-0 end of 3, Illinois State winning.
  25. anyone able to find and post the clip of the aTm player grabbing a husker players genitals... kind of feels like that's again happening here.
