  1. 2 plays in the game come to mind about who this team is. 1st is having three guys jog past a fumble and only when coaches are practically on the field yelling does someone come by and fall on the ball. EFFORT, or lack of. Second is the last slip screen to mazour where boe Wilson jogged to his block only to miss it horribly. Defender comes right in front of him and makes the tackle at the one, he makes that block and he scores. Little things and EFFORT. Coaches call plays and players have to execute. This past week is the first time I felt as frost has said we are close, when it turns it’s going to be big. Those are just two examples of many likely. Many players ok with being ok.
  2. Frost may have spoke a little too highly of the team this yr coming in but keep in mind, when he speaks to the media he is speaking more to the team than fans. He may have known some of the struggles that existed but was trying to raise confidence of the team, I dint know. I find it hard to believe we look like world beaters in practice and a circus, at times, during the games. Our oline is as bad as it’s ever been, that’s saying something since it has been pretty awful for the better part of 15 yrs. that being said, anyone buying preseason hype followed their heart not their head. Morgan was always going to be a huge loss, ozigbo, Gifford, and three oline. None of those players have been replaced with any comparable play. One could have noticed those issues prior to the season. Am I happy, no, are the wheels coming off, far from it.
  3. Fan of bo=beaten women syndrome=glutton for punishment btw it’s incredibly simplified to put this blame on all three coaches, this falls squarely on bos circus. His was the staff that decided not to offer a 4star, mr Ohio, legacy player out of HS, MR tried to save it but couldn’t....by that time not his fault. Frost had two very capable qbs committted with needs at other areas and burrow would have likely wanted assurances of starting, something that wasn’t going to happen sight unseen.
  4. Look back at drafts and combines. The first time in yrs we had a good showing, outside jano, was last yr. farmer actually led oline in a few categories. Look at Jake cotton when he played, Andrew Rodriguez,....you think they actually lifted anything but burritos and quarter pounders when they were here.
  5. Im really not sure if people come on here just started following Nebraska yesterday. Burrow wanted to come here, bo and his circus said not one word to him on his visit during camp. Instead offered some jv te in tx to play qb. MR tried to save it and frost had two capable qbs on roster at the time, I imagine burrow wanted a sure thing as far as #1 went and that wasn’t going to happen here. Also, what top recruiting classes? We’ve been middle of the pack with a higher mark last yr....meaning true freshman.
  6. Ummm ....jurgens is by far, as in not even close, our best oline player this year
  7. Jesus. I think I said his kids played hard and he was able to win some close games....we aren’t winning those now and didn’t under MR either. Fact he would drop a head scratcher 1-2 times a yr and get throttled by anyone with a pulse. This is hardly going out on a limb. I did say in a class of 25-30 he’d get 10-12 who were quite good, the rest were just meh. Was that a result of laziness, lack of organization, not sure but yr over yr that was the case. It also se med yr over yr he was scrambling for the last 5-8 kids in January. I think someone else said it better, he recruited 25-30th ranked teams and that is where they ended up if not just a bit lower.
  8. If that’s what you took out of my response I’m sorry. Fact, his top 8-10 recruits were pretty good every yr. however every yr he’d find himself in the position of having 12 commits in December with nobody else pending. He’d go after 20 kids with either character issues, bad grades, etc....think the group from Edna karr. Many didn’t even make camp or stick past the first yr. again this happened every yr. I didn’t say he was lucky I said he always seemed to have a difference maker make a play, that’s good on him. What’s bad on him is he always had 1-2 a yr that hed lose that he shouldn’t have and always get curb stomped by anyone with a pulse. He averaged 9 wins wh n the only teams you really had to worry about were osu, mich st, and Wisconsin. Much different now. I’m done talking about bo, I think he’s a way below avg HC, if nothing else YSU reinforces that....you believe he’s a hall of famer.
  9. I watched the game and had no problem with it. I do however wonder what the plan was for rahmir
  10. So that right there is my point. It’s like they wore taking chances on people and having them pan out was some badge of honor. Burrow wanted to come here and was higher rated and had ties. Ameer was being recruited at dB, Taylor was wanted as a safety. For every one of those stories how many did they offer that were what they were projected to be. Even if they were higher on dillman why cold shoulder burrow when he visited campus like they didn’t even want him there. Just a plain d!(k move, I’m just shocked seeing how well the circus is doing at YSU that people still support him and would take him back.
  11. Ok I’ll play. Did bo have a sr walkon throw a hail mary to a team that westy as time expired, a team that never should have been that close with. Did he, in all his genius almost lose to mcneese st at home, while trying to get in fg range calls a dump pass to Ameer who broke ~500 tackles on his way to a Td. How about dpe taking what was a sure loss to ia, and getting us back in the game off two returns. I could go on. My point is he won 2-3 games a yr despite his horrible coaching but lost 1-2 where he shouldn’t have, and embarrassed by anyone with a pulse. Yes, he won nine games. Yes he’d hit on some amazing talent (TM, AA, etc) but not near enough and that’s would always hold him back from being great, that and his ego couldn’t fit inside memorial stadium. Again, I’m convinced with many of those players gone in 2015 the wheels come off. Lets not not forget how close he was to assaulting the referee during his second to last Iowa game either. He was/is a clown, even that big Hs in Ohio is mulling firing him.
  12. They were fortunate that the big10 isn’t what it is now. They always seemed to have a dynamic player or two to bail them out when it was huge. (Abdullah vs mcneese st, Westy vs, nw, or dpe pre injury against iowa). Yes, they were awful recruiters. Bo even bragged after moving to YSU that “he could recruit from his car”. They avg. top 20-30 class, but the first ten guys were pretty good, the last 10-15 never made it or were just meh. The players played hard but what ails SF now ailed them as well, some were ok with being ok. They bragged about 9 wins like it was some badge of honor when in reality it meant absolutely nothing. I’m convinced in 2015 the wheels fall of if he came back and the 9 win thing was in serious jeopardy. No Abdullah, no valentine, Collins, etc....don’t forget when MR showed up they had 2-3 scholarship lb on the team and had to convince bando not to transfer. He no longer had that dynamic playmaker to hide their inefficiencies and the defense had declined several yrs in a row already. In defense of bo, I’m not sure he truly got a fair shake as the admin cut bait after the tx am game.
  13. Just wondering how you spread the blame. Bos staff didn’t recruit him at all instead chose to over some TE to project to the next level at qb? I’m not saying you offer legacy guys just because but this was freaking mr Ohio 4 star, with a long line of family through nu. The arrogance of bo and his staff is appalling. This falls squarely and only on the shoulders of bo and his staff. Fwiw, I believe this is when beck had his jaw wired shut for some procedure, but bo was just a d!(k.
  14. “Missed”...that’s one way of putting it. Bos circus “allowed” burrow to pay his own way to camp at unl and through the whole weekend nobody on the staff said one thing to him. Cold shoulder, snubbed...call it what you want. All this to offer some 3 star dude from tx that didn’t win his Hs teams qb position, transferred to another Hs to get this, play te. Can’t make it up. MR at least tried to change his mind and SF had a qb and obviously has other areas to fill quickly. I don’t blame SF for burrow, this falls squarely on one Blo Pelini.
  15. UCf is apples and oranges. They were 3 yrs remove from a 12 win team..,2 yrs from a 9 win team. Remind me again when NE last won 12 games in a season. Not to mention it was pretty clear they had better athletes there than here in key positions. Didn’t think I’d have to mention it but I will.....the AAC is not even close to the Big10. Little things they could get away with there cost them games here, players and coaches. The margin for error here, with the current roster is razor thin, for both players and coaches.
  16. Would you have rather played bunch? Isn’t that kind of like waving the white flag?
  17. Is he wrong, how do you motivate kids that have no interest in getting better, I think this was the point he made several times in the presser. He was not wrong. We have kids on our team now and have for the past 20 yrs that are ok with being ok. He’s changing a mentality and he doesn’t have enough kids that “care” to compensate for the ones that don’t.
  18. So not only was his first two 10 win seasons with majority Callahan recruits his last one was in 2012. Look it up, what a world beater of a schedule. In 2012, penn st was going through the Pedo scandal, Michigan was a disaster, minn was garbage, we always had mich st #. My point is it was a horribly easy schedule with the big ten being a shell of what it is today. Horrible losses include letting a 3 score game slide down your leg at home against UCLA, getting housed by osu and the second time around b wiscy, and losing to a below average ga team in the bowl game. Yep what a great season, where do I sign up. Anyone thinks Pelini was the answer simply has misguided naive tunnel vision. Well again that would fall at the feet of our previous staff not frost. He did everything he could to keep him here.
  19. Who is the nose you speak of, don’t recall losing one to ou. Fant was all on the previous staff. Speaking if recruiting not recruiting burrow was all on bo and his circus staff
  20. He did, that is a fact. What metric had he given you that said he’d ever do it again was my pt. 2 of the three was with majority Callahan players.
  21. Serious question. Do you really believe admin and coaching for the last 20 yrs have been “turning around”?
  22. This.....I’m very certain given 100 lifetimes bo would have never won less than 6 games.....but never more than 9. He such a bang up HC that the big HS he’s coaching at in Ohio just gave up 56 pts and lost by 35 pts to a 4 win usd team...
  23. I’d rather swing for the fences than win nothing at all. Tell me again what trophy did we win for winning those 9 games.
  24. Because none of those schools had coaches and admin shat on the program for the last 20 yrs.....least of all k state. Snyder left it in ok shape.
  25. When nick gates, our 4 star, three yr starter at lt and best oline prospect for next level in yrs goes to the draft and benches 225 less times than I did out of HS I think it’s fair to say the weight program had gone to hell and let’s say “optional”
