  1. Those are rediculous #s i doubt its above 40%. I'm not even sure more than 50% of people even enjoy Marijuana even if it was free and no consequences. But this thread is about Spielman. Hopeing he is back.
  2. If he isn't starting @ QB, i agree get him on the field.
  3. We recruited a bunch of good receivers this year. What else could Frost have done? He couldn't have known a year or 2 ago that all these guys would leave, or that J.D. would leave. If we lose J.D. , were not gonna be as good as I hoped next year...we might not make a bowl without him. But it shouldn't effect us long term since this would be his last year anyway. Unless another weak record hurts us in recruiting, which is very possible. No doubt about it this would be a big loss for next year, defenses would key in more on Wandale, as he would be one of only maybe 2 major weapons we have. Wandale, and possibly Manning, are the only guys other teams will be afraid of. Not that Mills or Martinez/McCaffrey aren't weapons, but they dont really strike fear into other teams with big play ability at least at this point.
  4. Every team has quite a few pot smokers. If they did a study on the matter i would guess 25% of college football players smoke pot. Not sure why its a big deal, when players that drink don't get the same type of scrutiny.
  5. Personally, Im not a fan of Omaha either, but that company has dissed Omaha twice in their latest 2 commercials...doubt thats a cooncidence.
  6. Agree. My worry is i hope we can stop the run. This will be a COMPLETELY different defense. We are swapping a run stuffing DL and slow backers/DBs, fer fast backers/DBs and a big ? on the DL.
  7. I mean, their are far more frigid places than Omaha (Minneapolis, Detroit, Fargo, to name a few) it was 60 degrees in Omaha in February......so kinda rediculous. Omaha is frigid by world standards, but not by U.S. standards. I think its the same company that has the guy say something like " pretty ambitious for a guy on a flight to OMAHAA" . Whoever is in charge of this company must hate Omaha.
  8. Missed amongst our dissapoinments, including defensively giving up big plays, was the fact noone ran up the middle on us. We took it for granted. The big runs we saw against Minnesota etc. were by running around our DL, or the few times the RB would get through the DL, our LBs missed them in space. But most of the big plays we gave up were passes targeting our slow LBs or safeties. Almost every game we stuffed teams trying to run up the middle as good as anyone in the country. Yet noone on here realized that, at least to the extent it was. There was reason to complain about our defense, but our DL was stout. At the end of the day, despite our holes at LB and in pass coverage, our offense is what let us down. The fact the loudest people on this board defend the offense is laughable. Our offense sucked. Period. You can search for 100 excuses but thats the truth. Warning: Coming soon- the Offensive and Martinez apologists.
  9. Agree. I'm not sure why many think Frost neglects defense. He played defense in the NFL. His scheme is geared toward scoring more points at the expense of a more tired defense , yes. But that has nothing to do with not prioritizing defense, just that the stats will always look better for the offense, and worse for the defense, than the actual quality of the two. I think last year is a great example. Statistically our offense and defense were both around average, but in reality our offense was horrid, and our defense was not as bad as the stats will say. Agree with most of this. I just think our defense is a year away. This year will show us where we are headed though. If this staff can win 7+ games with a very young defense, and likely every single position group being better in 21' than it will be this upcoming year - we are headed to a good place. On the flip side, if Frost and staff can't win 6 or 7 games with a team (albeit young) that is now his players, his culture, his scheme now firmly implanted.......than it is likely that he bever will be great here at Nebraska. I see it like this: 7+ wins = very good sign dor the future No bowl (less than 6 wins) = not much hope 6 wins = TBD, but more than likely a Bo Pelini like future
  10. We will miss this DLine. Been saying all along our DL was very good, our LBs were just that bad, coupled with a lack of speed at safety.
