  1. Think it's much more to do with Raiola being good at coaching. The nephew would be a cherry on top.
  2. Brown and Joseph were on the road recruiting a highly regarded RB prospect. Definitely need to get to running the ball reliably.
  3. I think he was the primary target and they weren't able to reach an agreement. Some mention that he might be experiencing some health issues that might've figured into the equation.
  4. We've sort of got a Bears theme going on here. Whipple's Alma Mater is the Brown Bears. Riaola is coming from the Chicago bears. Bill McGovern left to the Bears opening a spot for Busch. As of yet no signs of Yogi or Boo Boo though.
  5. This morning I was told it was Whipple followed up by Harrell and Anae. Not sure who might’ve been prior to those three.
  6. He'd benefit having his experience around there for sure.
  7. That's right. We can dream and have differing opinions and ideas and preferences. A great many have made real sacrifices for these ideals. The bottom line here is that we're all wanting our team to experience success and to get back to enjoying football. That can get lost in all the conversations and debate. Our chances of landing top notch quarterbacks would increase with this hire. If we can't have a Heisman finalist, hopefully we'd snag a really good one.
  8. Whipple, Quinn and Busch would be a good arrangement in my opinion with Joseph. Anae might be all right for OL. Not OC. I sincerely don’t think Harrell would be good for the program or in Scott’s interest.
  9. My cat FWIW told me it’s going to be a Whipple, Quinn, Busch arrangement. Negotiations are underway! ???
  10. We'll keep it Graham Harrell. That's sufficient.
  11. Is this what we'd have to listen to...Reeks of arrogance. How does he treat his players?
  12. Maybe Graham Harrell is a distraction diverting attention from our top candidates... If Scott were plotting a way out, Harrell would work!
  13. We'll have to "wait and see" once the turtle crosses the finish line. Really wasn't anticipating a splash hire like Grimes but thought surely we could do better than the aforementioned candidate that's been discussed tonight. Never in my wildest dreams would I think we'd be considering an air raid coordinator for our offense or anything close to one at Nebraska. I'm not interested in the guy or his scheme. Hopefully with some good fortune we won't go that route and we'll hear some better news soon.
  14. He'll get destroyed in the Big 10. His offense does nothing for Nebraska and does not belong here. Good luck getting it up to speed in a year too.
  15. I'd keep Lubick over Graham in a heartbeat. Besides his offense not being a fit, I don't like the guy.
  16. Also, I don't want you to quit cold turkey but would likely be taking a year off too if that were to happen...He's a piece of junk as far as I'm concerned.
  17. He's reported as being a "Strong candidate" in a Journal Star piece.
  18. I'm with you on Graham. That'd be disappointing. Jeff Quinn would seem to be good for OL.
  19. It seems like it’s been an eternity… I do think there were a number of targets identified early on. It may be more extensive than what one might imagine. I’m sure there are some issues slowing the process. To what extent I’m not sure. We’ve probably contacted and interviewed all the ones we can and who are interested or close to it anyway. Hopefully all the selections are determined soon. The more potentials the better. The good news I suppose, if we haven’t been allowed others haven’t been able to either.
  20. Bears fan here too. Didn’t Donovan Raiola have a training service before he was hired?
  21. I’m thinking much of the delay might be attributable to policies not allowing coaches to be interviewed or not being granted permission to do so prior a specified time. Their season concluding or particular legal outlines within agreements and other specific rules. In the case of Willy Korn, he was granted permission and permitted to interview following their season in the event that he has. As would be the case similarly with other candidates. Courtesies, etc. In addition, representatives are involved on a wide range of issues representing their clients, the coaches, and exchanges with the universities. Things can develop quickly once the process of interviews and negotiations are underway. But discussions have limitations prior. Interviews that can have been done, others are occurring and others could yet remain. Then once that all wraps up candidates are eventually offered next phases then initiated. ?
