  1. No offense girlknowsfootball . . . but you miss a lot on your recruiting predictions. I think the koolaid might get to you. That's ok . . . I am probably more pessimistic than I should be. But I was right... they didn't offer him at RB. I was talking about RB and I was right about that. You said they wouldn't offer him. That was not correct. You didn't say that they would offer him but not as a running back. On top of that, Diggs' preference is defensive back. He'll play RB if asked, but that's not his first choice. He's taking after his brother, Quentin Jammer.
  2. Your other two choices are 1) kick it out of bounds and let Texas start at the 40, or 2) kick it to two-time defending Junior World Long Jump Champion (and Junior World 4x100 meter relay champ) Marquise Goodwin, who just returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD in his most recent game. That play was over SO FAST. That kid has ridiculous speed. He hit the last hole and as he broke into space he turned on another gear that normal humans don't have. That poor kicker wasn't even part of the play. Could someone tell the Texas fans that we have a kicker that, indoors, is going to put it out of the endzone nearly every kickoff? I'm just sayin' I don't believe either one of them gets a chance to return a kickoff inside of Jerry World. Nebraska has had 29 kickoffs returned against them. Texas has had 35 returned against them. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that 29 is a greater percentage of Nebraska's total kickoffs than 35 is of Texas'.
  4. Their back up is experienced, experienced at sitting on the sidelines. Slow and immobile, but at least he can't throw well. Oh, and he's also injured, currently listed as "day to day". I have no idea who their third string QB is. Probably some freshman who hasn't yet held anything during a game except a clipboard.
  5. Kennard came to the Texas Spring Game. Current Longhorn TE Blaine Irby's brother is a football coach at Kennard's school. This guy's highlight video is the most impressive defensive highlights I've seen for this class. Just sick.
  6. Mack Brown doesn't lose in-state early commits. These guys pretty much always stick. OOS commits is a different story, but I can't even remember one that decommitted except those that were avid depth chart watchers, which Whaley isn't.
  7. Just off the top of my head, the players on our defense that were out or badly hobbled by injury when we played in Lincoln: Starting DE Brian Robison - limited from being leg whipped in the knee cap the week before and did not start. Starting DT Derek Lokey - broke his fibula in the first or second series of the game Starting DT Frank Okam - limited by strained hamstring Starting LB Drew Kelson - out since early in the season with sprained ankle, and played limited snaps His replacement LB Rod Muckelroy - out two weeks before game with ruptured tendon in finger Freshman #1 LB recruit Sergio Kindle - out since pre-season with sprained ankle, played limited snaps. Starting SS Michael Griffin - limited by sprained ankle Starting FS Marcus Griffin - limited by both ankles sprained Starting CB Tarrell Brown - broke toe the previous week, played anyway. For the CCG, all but Lokey are already back or will definitely be back at pretty much full speed. Lokey may make it back in time for the CCG.
  8. Actually, the main reason teams go to Hawaii to play is that the NCAA allowed those teams an extra game on the schedule more than they otherwise would have been allowed. That and the location makes it attractive for west coast schools to make the flight. I'm not sure what enticement the NCAA will use now that everybody gets a 12-game schedule.
  9. Not really. Mallet has to be considered a Michigan lean at this point. The Wolverines have been recruiting him hard since at least early this season if not last year. If he doesn't go to Texas, he's probably Ann Arbor-bound.
