There’s no curse. We lost due to a lack of sufficient coaching skills and preparation, player focus, and player abilities in certain positions. It’s just that simple.

In an alternate reality, I wonder who Urban Meyer would have brought here.

If he does, it will probably be for financial considerations - that’s a long contract he negotiated (smart on his part).

You're joking, right? Of course we're "paying Rhule's buddies", just like we paid Frost's buddies, and just like we paid Riley's buddies. Other than his brother, Pelini didn't have any buddies, so we just went out and hired the best coaches we could find - same with Calahan. At this point, my gut tells me Rhule will be a slightly above .500 coach here before he's fired in 6-7 years. Better than Frost, I suppose. Until the product on the field proves my thoughts otherwise, I'm sticking with my gut feelings.

3-9 this season is my guess, 4-8 to 5-7 if we get lucky.

Agreed. We're going to be great this year and Sims looks like the 2nd coming of [insert your fav QB's name here]. LOL!

With Sims at QB and no good backups, we may be worse than last season overall. We'll obviously know more in a few weeks.

Satterfield is a Brian Ferentz-level OC, or at least very close to it.

At this point, I see us going 3-9 this season. Next season will be much better.

I like Rhule, but Urban Meyer wouldn’t have fielded a team like ours last night - fairly certain of that. We looked like crud, all over the place. And keep in mind, Rhule went to the portal and brought in some “talent” to help us win now.

Assuming you're giving the university an out after two years for not meeting academic requirements, or quitting the team, or being kicked-off with cause; then I agree completely with your sentiments here.

The colleges (collectively, the NCAA) own the teams, stadiums, schools, dorms, etc., so they should be able to collectively call the shots. In no way is the current system good for the universities, the teams, the individual player-students, the coaches, or the respective sports they play. The current system is untenable and will be adjusted (my guess is after this season). The only winners as things currently are, are those who crave chaos.
