I would love to see Noel Devine become a Husker but, i agree that he needs to work on the grades and needs size. He is only 170lbs but, fast as hell. He also has good instincts when running the ball. I haven't see much on his blocking...... I think today's athlete needs the size, altheticizm, and smarts all rolled into one to play D1 football. Lacking in anyone of these areas could be the difference between being successfull and warming the bench. The days of the guy walking around with a glaze in his eyes but can lift a school bus are gone. Even the O line needs to be very intellegent. The level of competition is so fierce that some of the small distrations in life can completely end your carrer in sports. With all the athletes coming in and currently waiting to play at Nebraska, I believe, in order to be a stand out athlete here, you really need to be able to ballance your life outside of your sport. All that being said: I hope Noel finds a home at Nebraska and is able to contribute to the team as an athlete and be person the younger classmen can look up to. The support system here at Nebraska could help him greatly with this. If he chooses to take another route, I hope he is able to find that where ever he goes. Good luck to him either way.

I believe, when he first came here, he was one of the top 5 players on the team with speed.

I loved the sak put on by either Barry Cryer or Ola, can't remember wich, in the Michigan game. The one where he flat over powered the 320lb lineman, shot straight up the middle and hit the QB with so much speed and momentum that he bounced off the QB and skidded 4 yrds on his head. That was bad ass! That QB had better thank the good lord he flattened out on the carpet. I sat back in my chair as my eyes bulged and my spine went straight as a flag poll. I was able to save my beer though! Got props for that.

I heard that Kenny Wilson will be looked at pretty hard for punt returns. They want him on the field and to get comfortable playing infront of 80,000 lunatics. I think we have speed all over the place. It will come down to whoever is most comfortable in that position. It takes real BAL*s to stand there and catch the ball with absolute monsters looking to knock your head off. Props to whoever! It could be one or two of MANY. I can't wait to see the battle for that positon.

Thanks for all the opinions here. I for one feel better just knowing it wasn't all me having an uneasy feeling when CG was covering some of the huge receivers last year. Again he is a great guy and I hope he progresses and becomes as solid a player as any out there. I believe I read somewhere that the coaches were teaching the corner position to play closer to the line and jam the receivers. This is allowed in college but not in the pros. The article stated something like: After the season the coaching staff evaluates all aspects of the previous years performance and did recognize the buffer given to the receivers. They also recognized the difference in the rules allowing more contact with the receivers in college than at the next level. Many of the teams we played utilized this and that is why it was so hard to get the timing down at times. So, I think we will see the corners play closer and use the bump and their speed to get it done this year. We have a ton of speed with the current corners and the incoming recruits. I also agree, Green will have a great year at saftey. There is no lack of speed or size there. He is built more for the safety position than corner. With his hitting ability it should be exciting to watch.

I just watched a few games from last year. While watching them, I noticed that CG was beaten more than any of the DBs last year. I believe it is because of his height and maybe it is just me. I just couldn't help but cringe when the oponent went after CG. I was just hoping for a little insight from you all on this. I know we are getting MUCH bigger, maybe not faster, corners comming in. This is not meant to be disrespectfull in any way. It may be just me and I'm being a moron. I think he is a great guy and works very hard and is a unbelieveable athlete. Hopefully someone here can give me something to change the "oh crap its going to Grixby" feeling I have when I see a long pass and the only person there is CG.

How many years of elegibility does Kenny have left? He has a ton of potential and as long as he can pick up the blitz, he'll do great. The year will be great for all of the husker nation. With Herion back the RBs should go wild.

We shouldn't let a bunch of fools (outside schools with ill intent for Nebraska) decide this kids future. I agree with making him accountable at the U of N but give him a chance. He may straighten out quickly and maybe not but give him a chance. I like the fact that Nebraska isn't taking it lightly. Oregon went ahead and accetped the other player that was involved almost emediately. They are the Ducks and we are HUSKERS. Nebraska holds high expectations for the student athletes and that is part of what makes Neb what it is. I agree with making sure Major understands this type of behavior is not acceptable nor tolerated at Nebraska. That being said: This situation doesn't sound like it should be an event that becomes an unrecoverable hurdle in this kids life. He was looking at being labled a sex offender for the rest of his life. Even the victums said that wouldn't be a justified punishment. I live in Oregon and they call it gods country. God should take a trip here, he has lots of work to do. The only reason a Nebraska student athlete should be here is to kick their a** in what ever sport.

Was the prisoner on his/her way to a work release program? Was the prisoner being transfered to a different facility?

I haven't missed a game in 26 years. Every job I have accepted had to agree to the stipulation "if it is game day I DO NOT WORK". I don't care what day or what time I do not work that day at all. Most employers laughed and said sure, until game day and I made it clear we made an agreement. I also scream at the TV. I also tell little facts about the players and the team and the anouncers usually say just about the same thing soon after and my wife says what do we need to hear the game for. B) I have had to record a couple games in the last 26 yrs, but ban any and all news, or communication from the outside world.

Is the Diver outside the van? Has called for backup and is on guard watching the van? If so the rest has been layed out. Prisoner killed guard, didn't have the time to kill the other. The other guard called for backup and exited the van and is waiting for the backup to arive.

Was the prisoner fronting as a guard? Was he discovered and that is why he killed the guard?

Is the prisoner frustrated with not being able to get free? Is this a standoff?
